Pros +
- The hotel owner, was very friendly and very helpful. He answered all my questions and went way above and beyond anything I expected.
- Great hotel, centrally located for all the sights, public transport on the doorstep and comfortable, nicely decorated rooms with everything you need for a night or two. There's a small supermarket directly opposite. The staff gave a warm welcome.
- A great central location with lots of amenities close by. The supermarket across the road was very handy. The room was big and comfortable with plenty of space. It was nice to have a table and chairs to eat at, plus a nice touch to have the microwave area outside the rooms if we’d wanted to heat up food. The man in reception was helpful on arrival and our room was cleaned for us even though we only stayed 2 nights. It felt safe and was calm and quiet despite being nice and central.
Cons -
- The bed is pretty far and of course the rooms are small, but you?re in Europe and all the rooms are smiling in Europe
- There is some noise from the streets, I imagine mostly at the weekend. It died down after midnight.
- The balcony looked out onto a pretty grim view of backs of hotels and flat roofs- it wasn’t really worth having the balcony. Parking was a bit tricky at first but we worked out we could park for free on the road after 7.30pm and we did always find a space for this so it only cost a few pounds parking fee.

Room was spaciousStaff was extremely flexible and supportriceBreakfast was big and tastyLocation is great to visit Caen
The position of the hotel is is excellent, rooms very quiet, stuff kind and helpful. Rooms are rather small, though the shower was spacious enough. The breakfast was served in the room, which is a bit strange.
Excellent location. Excellent staff. Good room.
The hotel is in a convenient part of the old city. Both guys at the reception were 5 star. Very knowledgeable and helpful and a delight to talk to. Trams and buses are very convenient.
The toilet/shower/ bathroom area was tiny. It's all part of being in Europe I suppose. The shower wand fitting was damaged and you felt like a contortionist trying to have a shower having to hold the wand at all times.
Nice hotel in the centre of town
No air con so left window open to a very noisy street
The hotel is centrally located and it was impressively clean. I gave it top marks in part because of the incredible young desk clerk who worked the evening of August 7, 2025. (I'm sorry that I didn't ask his name.) He could teach a master class on hospitality and customer service. He was patient with my limited French and gave me information in English as needed. He recommended a good restaurant within walking distance. And he had a friendly and kind demeanor that every traveler would appreciate. The hotel room was spacious and very comfortable. It's not "fancy," but it's really quite nice. The bed was good and I slept well. And I really appreciated the fan in the room; the room would have felt too warm for my comfort level without it.
This is not the hotel's fault. I wish I could have enjoyed the breakfast the next morning, but breakfast isn't served until 7:00 a.m. I had to leave around then to walk to the train station for the next part of my journey.
The friendly & helpful staff. Nothing was too much, helping with baggage & to store as well.
The property is very well kept and in a great location
Nothing! We were on the first floor and without asking the staff carried my luggage upstairs.
Very clean, very proper, well kept. the staff spoke English and was very friendly and forthcoming. The hotel is situated centrally in Caen.
The hotel has no breakfast room, breakfast is served in the room.
The hotel was lovely and situated in a central location. The owner was really helpful and organised the storage of my cycle into locked storage at the rear of the hotel. Caen is a great city and I'll be back to explore with my family.
Staff very friendly and helpful
The rooms were very small and the bathroom even smaller. No shelf to put soap. No elevator
Warm, comfortable and clean. A very pleasant stay!
