    Pros +

    • Super breakfast with wide range of food and super eggs freshly cooked however wanted. Amazing pool area and views. 3 nights half board saw 3 very different types of meal. One "Spanish" (but did wonder why this was special as it is the Canaries!), one BBQ based, one with several choices. The quiet and peaceful feel of it. Everything so great.
    • If you want peace and quiet, this is the hotel for you. It has all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday away from the crowds in beautiful surroundings. The staff were exceptional making sure you had everything you needed without being intrusive. A special shout out for Nadia and Damien in the restaurant and Begonia on reception.
    • Very calm, great location för relax. The sauna is nice.

    Cons -

    • Only thing was our room being hot at the end of March, causing trouble sleeping. But. On departure I expressed that the air-conditioning didn't seem to work well. I was told I should have told reception straight away. They were still in winter mode, so only heating was on, not Aircon. They could have changed it for us. So it was our fault, not theirs really.
    • We have no complaints.
    • It is very pricy for the service you get.

-Fantastic view from the amazing pool-amazing breakfast with large choice, great ingredients and nice terrace view-staff was nice and helpful

-our room was very noisy in early morning due to its unfortunate position (below the restaurant)-massages were overbooked despite contacting the hotel before arriving

Comfy room. Bar space was relaxing. Staff welcoming and friendly.

Quality of food at breakfast and dinner was not good. The night we were there it was a BBQ but the steaks were poor quality and cooked on a hot plate not a BBQ - perhaps we just made poor choices - although that does not forgive the sides of overcooked broccoli and boiled potatoes!

Tranquil Paradise: The location atop Mount Leon is truly breathtaking. With stunning panoramic views, no neighboring hotels, and a beautiful infinity pool, Casa Leon offers an unparalleled sense of peace and tranquility.Delicious Dining: The restaurant impressed with a variety of breakfast options and delicious evening meals. We especially enjoyed the made-to-order omelettes and poached eggs. While some repetition occurred in the dinner menu, the dishes were consistently well-prepared and flavorful.Focus on Wellbeing: The hotel's commitment to your well-being truly shines. We loved the variety of free yoga and breathing sessions, with a special mention for the exceptional (and worth-the-cost) specialized breathing sessions.Activities & Entertainment: Beyond the breathtaking scenery, the hotel offers a games room with pool tables, table tennis, and table football. We also appreciated the free shuttle to explore the charming town of Maspalomas.Friendly Staff: The staff at Casa Leon deserves a special mention. They were universally friendly, helpful, and always spoke excellent English, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay.Additional Touches: Small gestures like the complimentary cocktails throughout the day, and the cold meats and cheeses upon our late arrival, added a touch of luxury and were greatly appreciated.Overall: Casa Leon Royal Retreat is an exceptional hotel offering a peaceful and relaxing getaway with a focus on well-being. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, the stunning location, friendly staff, excellent amenities, and high-quality food make this a truly luxurious and unforgettable experience.

Water & Toiletries: While the initial water bottles were a nice touch, it would be ideal if bottled water was included throughout the stay, especially considering the tap water is still. Similarly, automatic replenishment of toiletries in the room would be a welcome improvement.Maintenance Scheduling: Some maintenance work disrupted the tranquil pool area. While the staff addressed the noise after our complaint, it would be best to schedule such tasks during less disruptive times.Restaurant Seating: The restaurant atmosphere could be further enhanced by creating more space between tables for greater privacy during meals.Restaurant Seating: The restaurant atmosphere could be further enhanced by creating more space between tables for greater privacy during meals.

The staff were extremely helpful and kind. They fixed everything and tried to accommodate for every need. It’s on top of a hill, in a very quiet area with great views. The pool was great.

Hotel needs major renovation to be a 9.2 on booking.com!It’s ideal for people who want to run away into a mega-quiet and isolated place and not being disturbed. The place is extremely far from all the attractions. No way to get anywhere without driving a car for at least 20min. Very limited options for breakfast and dinner. We ended up having dinner elsewhere although we booked half-board.

Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, staff were amazing. Peaceful location, felt very welcome

Loads of space, beautiful pool area. Food was amazing. Very friendly staff.

Kitchen closed at 8pm. Far too early! Nowhere warm to sit in the chilly spring evenings. There were heaters and blankets outside but when we went in April it just wasn’t warm enough.

Lovely location away from it all (ideally you need a car to explore the area.) Room was great with super views. Great relaxed ambiance to the hotel, and staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast superb. Evening meals were good, although not outstanding. As it is called 'Royal Retreat' I think we were hoping for an added level of opulence, but no complaints, it was a very enjoyable stay and we will probably return.

Superb hotel. Fantastic service delivered by all the team. Friendly, attentive, nothings too much trouble. We were on first name terms with many of them. Great location. In the hills so very peaceful, with breathtaking mountain and sea views, but within easy reach of Maspalomas and the surrounding areas. Food was excellent. Fresh, tasty and well presented. We enjoyed everything that was served, pretty impressive as we stayed for 9 days. Breakfast was equally enjoyable. The restaurant service was unsurprisingly first class as well. The hotel lays on a range of daily activities, most of which are free. We particularly enjoyed the yoga, and the gym has panoramic sea views. Just a great place for a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Being British we’d have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room. Other than that given the opportunity we’d have stayed longer.

Amazing views Lovely staff Good sized rooms

The set dinner was a bit restrictive

Great view, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool and facilities. Good program of activities. Stunning location on the hillside out of the main town.

    Nothing springs to mind!

Loved the retreat elements - yoga, meditation, tennis, relaxing environment. Hadn’t realised all these would be on offer and they really made the hotel a special relaxing treat. Staff were amazing - so helpful and friendly and the food was delicious.

Would have like tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Excellent hotel for relaxation. Even though the hotel is located quite far from the beach and main streets, but it provided so many services: tracking tours, massages, cinema, yoga, gym, tennis, pinning and many others, so we did not have time for burning our backs under the sun. The staff was very friendly and helped to find best fit for our needs. Nadya, who worked as wine guide, helped a lot to find best matches for our dining sets.Very enjoyable stay with excellent view and services.

    10SarahPosted on: 2-10-2024

We liked the dinner arrangements and enjoyed some beautifully prepared, tasty food. The location in the hills is spectacular, and architecture creates a spacious, open and very relaxing environment. The garden is beautifully laid out and a joy both to walk around and to relax in. We appreciated the possibility to join a few activities. The Staff are exceptional.

We have no negative comments about our experience of Casa Leon.

A wonderful hotel in a tucked away location. Brilliant for a relaxing break. The hotel is comfortable and well maintained. The staff are friendly and amenable.Food overall is very good. Breakfasts are excellent and the barbecue evenings are a highlight

The staff are absolutely amazing. It is like staying with good friends. They are obviously very happy working there and take pride in this beautiful hotel. They always take time for a chat. The hotel itself is very lovely. An amazing infinity pool with jacuzzi, everything spotlessly clean. There is also an open fire to sit comfortably around when the evenings get a bit chilly. The food was excellent. Nothing more you could need for the breakfast with friendly Sarah making sure you had everything you needed and even supplying extra cushions for me. Lunch also great and the evening meals were very very good, especially the barbecues of different cuts of meat and lovely fresh fish. Cannot fault it!

I found the double bed too large and not a fan of two beds together to make one. A mattress topper may have helped. The rooms were enormous but the bathrooms out of proportion as they could have been much larger and included a bath tub. I also enjoy hotels with coffee and tea facilities in your room. There was plenty of space to have this but they didn’t.

    9SallyPosted on: 1-18-2024

Breakfast was excellent (some things weren't available on our last morning). The hotel and location are beautiful, and peaceful - only a short drive to the coast, but away from the crowds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The yoga and other fitness sessions were great, and the pool is lovely (big enough to swim in properly too).

There was a slightly unpleasant smell around the lower terrace at times. More vegetables at dinner would have been appreciated.
