The location is good.
We stayed at this hotel for three days, paying around $1000. While the location right by the beach is excellent, the overall experience did not match the cost. For a beach hotel, the towel policy was inconvenient. Guests are only allowed to exchange towels during a narrow two-hour window between 10 AM and 12 PM, with no option for extras. This is not what one expects when paying premium rates for a seaside stay.Breakfast was also underwhelming. The selection lacked variety, which is surprising in a country like Spain where fresh and diverse food is expected. Even something as simple as olives — a staple in Spanish cuisine — was missing. The overall impression was that cost-saving measures took priority over guest satisfaction.Entertainment was repetitive and uninspired. The same band played the same songs every night, and the background music in the lobby and at breakfast sounded like low-quality cover recordings rather than professional tracks.Customer service was another weak point. The front desk staff often came across as dismissive. On one occasion, when I called from my room and asked to speak to the manager, I encountered the same unhelpful attitude, and the call was abruptly ended when I asked for the manager’s name.Dining prices were also high. Unless you pre-pay €33 per meal when booking, dinner costs €50 per person — a steep price considering the overall experience offered.Lastly, security felt insufficient. There is a door near the beach that remains open, allowing people from outside to enter freely without checks.Overall, while the beachside location is a clear advantage, the lack of service quality, limited amenities, and poor value for money made the stay disappointing. With improvements in hospitality, dining, and guest care, the hotel could reach the potential its location deserves.
My stay at Lopesan Costa Meloneras in March with friends was simply unforgettable. The entire property is a tribute to elegant luxury — from the luscious, meticulously maintained gardens to the beautifully designed spaces that inspire you at every turn. The dining experiences were equally impressive, with delicious and beautifully presented food. Every corner of the hotel radiates charm and sophistication, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy.
My only small suggestion: adding a Nespresso machine in each room would elevate the experience even further.
Vast beautiful modern spacious hotel and property. Excellent location, on the beachfront and near many shops, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and a modern Gym. Delicious very varied half-board overall, very well organised and clean stations, decent coffee machines. Very clean spacious rooms, large bathrooms albeit shower only. 5 amazing pools, two v. large. Our rooms had balconies on the Spa pool, only open with the spa, so it was amazingly quiet, lots of birds. Loved it.
Senior Staff at reception and in buffet restaurant entrance were fairly rude, which spoilt things a little. Our booking had gone through wrong (1 adult in 1 double room / 1 adult + 2 teens in the other). A man at Reception made a big deal like it was serious, when we still needed and were paying for 2 double rooms regardless. Was really unhelpful, told us to call Booking.com (£££ 20min call to UK) to change it, wouldn't check if there was a Single occupancy surcharge to refund us, and just claimed there wasn't a difference. We'd just arrived... Got told off for trying to take our coffees with us to our room / pool after breakfast (?). Someone had been sick just outside the buffet restaurant, we let them know, out of courtesy, a man said "not my job", "go and tell reception" (?!) whilst wearing a headset. He could have called someone. We witnessed many guests making the walk of shame to get their towels back, after 'illicitly' reserving pool chairs, they have towel Police.. Otherwise, there were mostly news channels in English, more choice in other languages. The manmade coarse 'sand' by one pool felt like a construction site ground underfoot, sub-par for such a nice hotelFYI Half-board there is the classic food only at Dinner, not even water (8 Eur bottle). No soft drinks list for some reason, and no free water in the rooms.
We really liked the fact that the resort had so many locations for sitting by the pools. We also really enjoyed the lazy river pool that felt warmer than the other pools. The resort had so many options for families to meet during the evening to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance together. The evening programs offered entertainment every night for the guests to watch. The selection of buffet food offered every day for breakfast and dinner gave enough options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. At almost every location by the pools there were bars/cafes to get snacks and drinks. Prices were reasonable. Everyday there was a beach towel drop off location to deposit wet towels and in return you could pickup dry beach towels. The resort offers for a small fee additional pillows that can match to your liking. There is a small grocery store on site that an array of supplies that you might want on vacation. There are three tennis courts, one pickle ball court and a small playground (children 1 1/2 years old to 4 years old). There is a kid’s club there but I would consider it more so like a small daycare facility. The resort is about 7-8 minute walk to the beach. Make sure to get to the beach early (8:00) enough to reserve the layout chairs and the sun umbrellas. If not you will be sitting on the sand without shade.
The only two small things I did not like about the resort was that the pillows were too high for my neck (I like to sleep with a daun pillow). The resort could use an upgrade on the children’s playground and offer a few more activities to older children (i.e., game room, check out board games, hangout area). Other than that the resort was fantastic!
The hotel is amazing in a convenient location. There is an easy access to the promenade with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The food in the hotel was very very tasty with lots of choices. The room was clean with a comfy bed. We had some stunning views from our balcony. There are plenty of sun beds and multiple swimming pools. The scenery is lush with lots of beautiful plants and flowers. Maspalomas beach and the dunes are a short stroll away. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time in a truly 5 star hotel.
Impressive , clean , beautiful gardens . Extraordinary buffet , a little crazy busy but every effort made by all staff to make it work.
Wine choices were very poor , coffee also was an issue for us . The Italian restaurant main courses were also disappointing, chicken salad was badly constructed . Margarita pizza fad no basil. An essential ingredient , dried herbs not a good substitute.
Amazing hotel, very big and its alot of fun lots going on and it does not feel crowded.
Stuff could be a bit more friendly and some more with good English
Very nice facilities, beautiful garden, excellent location.
No playground for kids. Not much to do for kids in general besides pool. Little variety at breakfast (for a 5 star hotel)
Stylish modern and super clean Staff were all very attentive friendly and efficient Facilities were first class
The checkin process was very busy and waiting times could be addressed. Also breakfast was a bit of a stampede at times and took away the otherwise premier experience
The resort is beautiful.
Not enough staff. It’s very difficult to find or get hold of a member of staff. It’s like the resort is run on minimum staff. No answer when calling reception or requesting on app. After a few days this became very frustrating
Lovely pools and nice room. Good location for restaurants and shops but a bit of a walk if you like to go to a beach or the Dunes. We enjoyed the indoor bar in the evening after dinner and the staff at the bar were great there. There's also lots of tables outside for drinks too. Nice Italian restaurant on site where we had lunch.
As it was peak season it was very expensive. The Reception staff member who check us out could not have been more disinterested in us. No smile, no greeting, no "did you have a nice stay" - just showed us the piece of paper with the extras on. We had to ask if we could store our luggage and he rolled his eyes as he had to reissue us a wristband to access the storeroom. No coffee in the room but 5 different types of tea. Small thing but if you're spending thousands of pounds a bit annoying to go to a shop (especially as the place is so vast - its a long walk) and buy some. We had 2 poor food experiences at the pool bar at lunch so did not bother again. Struggled to get 2 sunbeds together unless you get out early. Breakfast ends at 10.30am but food not served at the pool bar until 1pm. So if you don't make it to breakfast you have to go out for food. We would return but only if it was cheaper and off season and we would not book breakfast as it ends to early.
Luxury and Elegance at Its FinestMy stay at this five-star hotel was absolutely exceptional. The cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect retreat. The buffet for both breakfast and dinner had an impressive variety, offering high-quality and delicious options for every taste. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, providing top-tier service throughout my stay. Every detail was handled with care, making the experience truly luxurious. One thing to note is the hotel’s highly prestigious and classic ambience, with an unspoken expectation of formal attire. While I appreciated the elegance, I would have preferred prior notice to dress accordingly.Overall, everything was flawless. If you’re looking for a refined and luxurious stay, this hotel is an excellent choice!
They didn't mention the parking cost for guests. It doesn't have free parking.
I booked at the time and I specifically said I wanted a heated swimming pool .out of all the pools I only had the use if two .both freezing cold water .if I had known I would not have gone there was a bit duped really so my holiday was pool less
Nothing much the food was quite an array but food was warm to cold so never used for 4 days of my holiday that’s the main meal breakfast burnt bacon, eggs burnt boiled eggs half done all gooy inside settled for croissant in the morning ,not a good show the hotel itself impressive to look at but that’s not what makes a 5 star .i would rate this a 4star .the only pool that was heated was the unique pool of which I could not use ,but the customers of that pool could use yours unacceptable if I pay for a hotel I should get all amenities.
beautiful lobby with amazing fragrance, spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, black-out blinds, discrete but efficient airco, good choice of restaurants and snack bars, very central location, great pools (including slow river), mini supermarket inside the hotel, TV with enabled HDMI connection, nice spa offer
The pool area and the gardening staff are amazing, it's clean and during the time of my visit there were always loungers available. The location of the hotel was great, well connected with other parts of the island.
The dinner was a disappointment. The fruit and vegetables were not always fresh and some (like grapes) were visibly dirty. Water was not included at half board, had to pay 3 euros extra for it every dinner. I find that beyond strange since in other hotels on GC the water has been complementary even if I didn't pay for breakfast/dinner. While most of the people working in the restaurant were super nice, one of them rolled their eyes at me when I wanted to pay by card and not charge the water to my room. I'd might stay at the hotel again, but I would not go for half board at this hotel.
Splendid swimming pools and perfect location , nice architecture in a luxurious tropical garden, friendly and helpful staff , buffet offered a high variety of food , some meals are excellent
One little hiccup during our first night : our bedroom was at the 8th floor , looking at the mountains. There is a nightclub downstairs that plaid very loud music until 3-4am, we could hear a constant drum beat despite of closing the window, and slept really bad. The rest of the nights were much quieter. The staff kindly offered to change to a quieter room.
