Beautiful historic building, very friendly staff and the restaurant is amazing.
The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are really well kept with stunning views.
The shower sprayed water all over the floor and the Internet was intermittent.
Very big and cozy rooms with garden views. Very comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast with lots of local Canarian foods.
We were disappointed by the pool opening times. It would be great if it would stay open longer in the evening.
Beautiful historic property. Wonderful, attentive staff. Amazing cliff side views. No need to leave the property, since they have great food and drinks, but downtown San Sebastian is only a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend this place.
Location and friendly staff
Breakfast was limited and service was slow. Not enough staff, had to wait to be served numerous times.
Excellent food, friendly staff including advice with organising hire car. Spacious room and bathroom, well thought out decor with excellent balcony and sea view. Tranquil surroundings including fine gardens, peaceful courtyards and
Service in the dining room was a bit chaotic at times, despite hardworking staff, suggesting in sufficient numbers and/or lack of manager supervising
The location for us was excellent - perched up the hill overlooking the harbour and town. We are mobile and were able to walk to and from the (charming) town - but it is steep, and anyone with mobility considerations might be needing a short taxi ride. The overall ambience was perfect - spacious, peaceful, friendly but private. Lovely gardens with seating areas for relaxing. Beautiful, quiet courtyards. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good.Lovely lounges, a lovely pool and shady hacienda above. We like to explore, but could have been tempted to stay put there for our whole stay, it was just blissful.
Our only small criticism was breakfast on the last day - for whatever reason they seemed to have been overwhelmed, and there were very many items that had run out, and took a very long time to be (partially) replenished.
I do believe this is probably the best hotel on La Gomera (a magical island) and I would happily stay here again. The grounds were amazing and the historic vibe was exactly what we were after.
Parts of the hotel needed a touch up and our shower (Room 223) chronically soaked the bathroom, but these are acceptable quirks in an older building. The real issue was the service. Everyone was extremely nice, but not everyone was well trained. The on-site restaurant was at times extremely chaotic. Our dinner (1 appetizer, 2 mains) inexplicably took 2.5 hours. We had probably six servers, which just added to the confusion. It was the first time I have ever received a splash of wine to taste, only to have the server run away with the bottle before I could respond! Ended up being charged twice for that wine, but they did fix it. Similar issues at breakfast - one day after the festival they were down to two staff members and it was mayhem. Also, the pool area has so much potential that isn't being exploited. There is a coffee bar with what looked like a full kitchen down there; it just wasn't ever operational, so no drink service. And because there is a no glass rule, you can't even bring your liquids easily or order from the main bar. Seems a bit silly, as they could be making a killing! We were there in March, which is not low season...
My room had great views and was very comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the views were fantastic.I felt breakfast had less variety and than other hotels we stayed at during our trip. The breakfast was not included and the per person price for breakfast was high. There was a coffee maker that was quite tricky to work. After spending 15 minutes to get 1/2 cup of coffee the waitress brought a pot of coffee to the table. The wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Expensive breakfast. Dragging bags up the hill from the ferry was tough! The beautiful pool and hot tub closed at 5 pm. I would have liked it to stay open later.
Fabulous relaxing property sitting above town. Large comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms with individual balconies. Gorgeous gardens and excellent swimming pool.
Lovely building in a fabulous location overlooking the town. Beautiful gardens with plenty of space to relax - didn't seem at all busy even though there were plenty of people staying. The high standards we expect from a parador.
It’s a really beautiful building with a stunning and peaceful pool overlooking the sea. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with a gorgeous view.
Breakfast is a little chaotic
Beautiful building with amazing views on an extraordinary island
Location and history
Great location and gardens. Great reception staff. Lovely pool.
Restaurant food was disappointing and service was slow.
The location of the hotel being high above San Sebastián that offers a dramatic view of the harbor below as well as Tenerife across the water is excellent. The garden and grounds are also very good. The room itself is large. The hotel projects an overall old colonial vibe.
The bathroom is functionally not very serviceable. It is on the small side and has mold in the shower. Wifi is spotty and unstable. The door handle to the garden is loose and does not function properly. The breakfast room is severely understaffed and service is chaotic and abysmal. Tables not being cleaned to seat guests and the buffet persistently running out of food and drinks, yet charges 21 EUR per person for the breakfast is outrageous.
The whole building was amazing, loved all the different places you could choose to relax in, such as a courtyard with a fountain. gardens, various lounges/ salons.
Wonderful location with fabulous views
Dinner was very good but breakfast was disappointing and not worth 21 euros. Maybe they were short staffed but it was somewhat chaotic
Lovely location above the town , comfortable rooms , delicious breakfast and elegant dinner
Not many restaurant options nearby if you don’t want to eat all meals in the Parador
Fantastic gardens with plenty of seating spaces. Lovely pool colder than the sea though!
There was a drain smell in the room on arrival. Most expensive hotel out if they've on our trip. Wasn't worth the extra cost for the gardens and pool
