    Pros +

    • The room had an amazing view, very spacious and perfect for a family of four. We loved the restaurant/bar downstairs as well. Would love to return!
    • The location is just what you're looking for! A historic hotel where you can unwind after a long walk on the endless beaches. The room is spacious and well appointed.
    • Excellent location with nice staff and a wonderful bar.

    Cons -

    • Just notification of where to park before arriving.
    • My room faced the late night restaurants and bars so it was a bit loud but the rooms were cozy and well insulated which mitigated some of the noise. The bathroom is not well appointed, be sure to bring conditioner if you need it.
    • No problems

Excellent location, nice room, friendly personell in the reception.

When w phoned the Hotel, we did not get any answers. Ouf phone calls where forwarded to an answering machine. We got an e-mail from the hotel regarding our request after we hade left the hotel. A telephone is a device where you expect instant answers to questions. If the phone goes to an answering machine, you expect to be phoned back within 30 minutes.

This was my 5th stay at the hotel over 4 years. The location is fantastic. We actually stayed this trip 2 different nights with a short break in between to visit MSM. The first time we checked in, the woman who greeted us was not pleasant at all and acted like we were annoying her by merely trying to get our rooms and pay. It was really a poor first impression, and I was thinking that perhaps things had changed at this hotel for the worst. Thankfully, when we returned for our second stay, we were greeted by a charming, smiling young woman who made us feel very welcome.

On Friday night the live music from downstairs was very loud and went pretty late into the night making sleep impossible until midnight.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting and conveniently located to shops and restaurants

I asked about parking at the hotel and was told it was cheaper than parking outside at the lot. That was not true. Parking outside was about 1/4 the cost of what it would have been to park at the hotel.

The location was very good. Restaurants, tourist office, and bus stops close by. We enjoyed the breakfast food: eggs, bacon, sausage, croissants, bread, butter and jams, cake, juices, fruit, variety of yogurt, cheese.

No safe or refrigerator. The amenities did not include a shower cap or toothbrush. Everyday the room had many flies in it. The cleaning staff left the window open allowing the flies to come in. There was no fly swatter. We wasted time chasing the flies with a towel. We complained about the flies, but nothing was done.

The staff was fantastic. Hotel was beautiful, our room was spacious and felt like a home.

Amazing location and the lobby and restaurant area were beautiful

The beds were not particularly comfortable the bathrooms were very small and outdated with minimal lighting. The halls were cluttered with folding chairs and tables and it felt like you were going through staff only areas just to get to your room. We had asked for a baby bed and it arrived broken and easily older than myself so the toddler slept on the floor. The halls were tiny, narrow, with low ceilings and very old carpets and doors. The location made up for all of this, and the breakfast was also very good.

Excellent location. Large, comfortable bed. Good sized room. Very quiet.Plenty of choice for breakfast.

    No fresh fruit for breakfast.

Large room and excellent breakfast. Highly encourage you to PRE-ARRANGE parking - you must provide your car's plate number. It is the main parking lot before entering into the walls of Saint Malo. Loved the hotel and good location. but pack your bags into something smaller for the walk to the hotel.

Lovely hotel within the Intra Muros old walls and at the heart of Saint Malo with excellent access to bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and we had a comfortable standard room with air conditioning which was greatly appreciated on a warm night.

Our room was on a lower floor above the restaurant and there was very loud live music outside until 12 midnight which we didn't realise and wasn't mentioned to us at check-in or we would have upgraded to a higher floor at the back of the hotel.

    5SusanPosted on: 7-10-2025

Did not mind the separate toilet room.

No shower, only a bathtub with hand shower. Very inconvenient!

    7MarkPosted on: 7-6-2025

The history of building. The convenience of restaurants and shops.

Because this hotel is within the wall, we had to park in a parking garage nearby. St. Malo can be very busy making it hard to get a parking space.

    8BrianPosted on: 6-24-2025

    excellent location

parking and dropping off luggage was a challenge

    10JOHNPosted on: 6-23-2025

The location was fantastic, in the heart of the old walled city. Our window had a view of the ramparts and the ocean, where we could see the ever-changing extreme tides and the fortress on the nearby island. Room was comfortable and adequate size. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was good, and all the public spaces in this historic hotel were stunning and memorable.

    Virtually everything was very good.

    9MaureenPosted on: 6-7-2025

The location was perfect. We did drive in and the GPS was a little wonky, I guess because it is a walled city.Once we found it we were thrilled with the location and the hotel was beautiful.
