Pros +
- Very friendly and helpful staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a block from the magnificent beach, as promised.
- Breakfast was better than the usual cheap hotel continental breakfast. The bathroom was large.
- Large accessible bathroom.Large and plentiful clean towels.Dog friendly, which was our reason for choosing and close to ferry for onward travel.Friendly welcome, although a bit odd, traipsing luggage and dog through the restaurant to the side to gain access. Receptionist also managing restaurant, bar, customers etc.Bed was comfortable enough, though, and we did sleep fairly well. Ate in restaurant for convenience but other eateries close by.
Cons -
- The sink in our bathroom sprayed all over and flooded the floor each time we used it. There was no fresh air in our room and windows did not open (first floor room). There was barely any room to turn around in our room. The beds appeared worn.
- Overall, appearance dated, bit shabby, and lacking attention to detail in terms of cleanliness. Furniture sparse and marked, no mirror by the dressing table, broken room cold with no natural light. Bathroom windows were opaque as facing out onto the street and can see shapes of people passing while on the loo, (strange) so we had blinds down too. When the bathroom door closed, there was no other window to open. Rather strange design for hotel accommodation, granted we had requested accessible room. Some noise from the restaurant, scraping chairs, after we retired to bed following our long drive. No available nearby parking on arrival, l am disabled so this was a major disadvantage, especially with luggage and a dog. Although we were able to move car early next morning and parking was free..
- Rooms are small and no coffee facilities but it suits us price wise and location.

We’ve stayed there before and it’s very convenient.
Rooms are small and no coffee facilities but it suits us price wise and location.
We stopped for one night before catching the ferry with our dog. The hotel is very convenient for the port. It is definitely a budget hotel and the rooms reflect that, our en-suite was very small and at 6 foot tall I had to sit side saddle to use the toilet but for one night it is functional. I can't comment on the shower as we had breakfast and showered on the ferry. We each had a pizza for supper and that was tasty.
Close to the beach
Small prison like rooms. We noted on the reservation that it was for our honeymoon. Booked months in advance and still received the smallest room in the hotel.
Good location for the beach.
Unexpected €10 charge for my dog. I explained this to the employee when I checked in and she said it had nothing to do with her and no intention on making it clear on their advertising.
Great location and meals available next door.
Compact, old, town centre property.
Small hotel with friendly staff, breakfast is simple and inexpensive. Parking is on the nearby streets and free. The room was tiny as well as bathroom, and very basic. There is no elevator and the stairs to the upper floors are steep and narrow. Hotel seats very close to the beach and promenade, it takes one hour to walk to old town (walled city)
room was tiny and a it noisy from the street
Stayed just one night as dropping family at the ferry port the next morning. The location was perfect for everything, especially the port. Didn't take long to find a space to park. Very friendly staff and very personable. Rooms are basic but clean and comfy. Had view of sea. Dog friendly. Restaurant below great and a bonus. Very tasty food and welcoming. Will, book again.? Huge thanks to all staff.
Nothing comes to mind. I miss a kettle in the room but that's no big hardship. Took a cuppa up after dinner ?
The beach was nearby.
There was a small misunderstanding regarding the accommodation fee. Which was later resolved with the help of booking.com.
Unsympathetic staff. Dingy and dark building
Woman on ‘reception ‘ in middle of busy restaurant was rude and unhelpful. No real parking in the area - we had been 2 days traveling from Spain due to a cancelled ferry- she was unsympathetic - didn’t even suggest to us to sit down and have a drink while she served others. She didn’t care . Told us we had come in the middle of service ( check in is until 23.30 - this was 20 hrs!! ) . Building dingy and room small with very few outlets for plugs . Don’t bother with this place - there are better places for less.
Handy location for St Malo boat. Booked at the last minute due to the cancelled boat.Really comfortable beds and lovely clean bathroom. Really lovely pizza restaurant downstairs and handy kebab place next door. Very helpful staff.
Only small issue was that the toilet seat wasn't attached properly.
Room was a good size, clean warm. Staff were excellent friendly and helpful. Food evening meal was excellent value and the breakfast was good too.
I liked the location as it was close to the beach but also not too far from the harbour too.
I didn’t like the dated state of the place. There was also no tea or coffee or kettle in the room.
Very nice location close to the beach and walking distance from St Malo centre. Lots of free parking around the hotel. The restaurant below the hotel was a bonus with great pizzas.
Lovely restaurant serving great food. Friendly staff and plenty of street parking. Hotel room was fine for an overnight stay. Felt like a safe neighborhood.
Family room was available at short notice. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful!
The room smelled of sweat and didn't feel clean - it had the feel of a student house with dated decor and furniture and a damp feel.
Excellent location and free parking in and around the streets. Hotel has a great Pizzaria and bar downstairs and Franprix next door. Beach is less than 100m away.
Room was extremely basic - just beds and one table with an elecric kettle. No coffee/Tea facility in the room. Not even a couch, which i know might be a strech to ask for in france, but we had the grande suite to sleep 6 and all we had were 3 rooms (one room opens into another) with beds and a bathroom. High standards on cleanliness and included breakfast - they were ver good.
Excellent location only a block from the beach and several restaurants nearby. The check in clerk did not speak any English as well.
The property claims parking is available. Only street parking was available and good luck in finding one close to the property. Had to park 15 minutes walk away from the property. There are two floors with steep steps and no lift.
