Mercure Cherbourg Centre Port

The property was very convenient to everything in Cherbourg, extremely clean throughout and also had a very good and reasonably priced restaurant along with a welcoming and helpful staff.

Easy to access, ample parking and a spacious, comfortable room overlooking the marina. An enjoyable evening meal in the restaurant, and an impressive choice of food served at breakfast.

Ideal for an overnight stop before catching the ferry home. Even has a supermarket opposite to pick up last minute purchases.

We booked half board to simplify eating arrangements but initially given wrong menu. The restaurant staff were pleasant but seemed a little confused and lacked real leadership.

Great location and views from the bedroom

Evening bar and restaurant service was sporadic.

some staff surly - eg breakfast bacon had run out by 09:30 ( despite breakfast open till 10:00) and I was told no more available by one member of staff but when a few minutes later I double checked with her line manager , the line manager took it upon herself to get some more bacon prepared and brought it to me herself.Checkout was at noon but our Ferry was at 15:30 so asked for slight delay in checking out, at 13:00 but were told this would not be possible as the ‘hotel is full’

Location, parking, restaurant, nice food

There was no food in the bar in the afternoon. The staff were charmless and unfriendly overall. The hotel room was far too hot and lacking proper ventilation.

Location, location, location.

No criticisms, nice rooms, spacious and very comfortable beds.

We were on the top floor with a balcony, giving perfect views of a beautiful city

Convenient location. Free car park. Very clean room and bathroom. Excellemt restaurant for dinner.

Charged more than the advertised 'rack rate'. No condiments in the rooms. Mini-bar was empty. Not even a bottle of water left out.Breakfast very average and hot food had run ut by 09:20 am.Staff not very friendly or helpful.

Comfortable, spacious room with a small balcony overlooking the port. The restaurant is pleasant with good service and we enjoyed the two dinners we ate there.

The room was really nice with a great view and the bed was very comfortable. It had a separate toilet and shower room with heated mirrors etc. The breakfast was lovely with an array of different choice's. The staff were very helpful too.

The room was really cold at times despite putting the heating to the maximum temperature. The wallpaper was peeling in our room. The bar never had staff there despite the reception telling us the bar was open which wasn't great. The surfaces needed a wipe down as they were dusty

Accommodation was good; beds comfortable; dinner good’ parking on site.

Large comfortable room with great staff

I asked for a little milk to take to the room for the complimentary tea facilities. I was shocked to be charged €2.50 for about 100ml the going rate in the town is about €1.00 per litre.This with a card asking you to protect the environment by not using electricity and water spoiled my enjoyment by focusing me on corporate greed.considering the high price of the room

Amazing location, central, near shops and restaurants, but also pretty quiet.

location, car parking, closenss to restaurants and to Carrefour

The staff were distant, no real interactions, we had stayed in another Mercure hotel and an IBIS hotel on this journey and the staff were a lot more pro-active. There was also no bottled water in our room - I though this was standard in Mercure Hotels.

Modern & clean

Room impractical to use. Door to balcony stuck shut. Square toilet, unusable bath due to its design. Toilet & bathroom air extraction did not work. Bed hard

Hotel location was very good and quiet.

Although I put the tag for "don't disturb", they enter and clean the room.

Modern hotel with a beautiful outlook. Well positioned and lovely facilities. Really comfortable rooms and a lovely bar with friendly staff.
