    • The staff was very welcoming and helpful to recommend good restaurants. The location is very good - well within walking distance of what we wanted to visit and the restaurants.Excellent and varied breakfast.
    • Enjoyable stay staff helpful and kind , the restaurant and breakfast were excellent .
    • Staff were very welcoming and friendly Lovely breakfast/ bar areaConvenient for walking into Niort centre

    Cons -

    • I was very disappointed that I could not charge my hybrid car while staying at the Mercure. The hotel has enough charging stations but they charge 25€ flat per night, which is outrageous for a hybrid car with only a 12 kWh battery. Why is it so difficult to offer convenience at a large hotel to Hybrid and EV car owners??
    • Little tricky to find
    • Ordered a taxi through reception and the cost was prohibitive.b

    Staff were fantastic.

We booked because of the restaurant. We were contacted to be told the restaurant was closed on the weekends, the booking was not refundable so we felt cheated. There is no indication on the website that this is the case. We understand this was a last minute decision? For Valentines night this was extremely disappointing. My wife is unable to walk far so we were unable to go out to eat. The room service meal was very poor and overpriced.

    Disappointing

One trainee individual to do the check in. Completely unprepared and unable. We lost time for nothing.

Great hotel for a stopover or a weekend. The staff were all so lovely, welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast, plenty of parking at the hotel’s grounds and dogs friendly.

Staff at reception were very nice, helpful and professional. 10/10 for reception staff! Some of the restaurant staff were good, others made us feel like an inconvenience.

We booked the hotel as it had a bar and restaurant and offered what looked like good room service meals. The bar wasn't open most of the time we were there. The restaurant was unable to provide any snacks or food outside of the limited opening hours. The room service meals and drinks were not available so overall very disappointing. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

Good location and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast is excellent with good ingredients. Fresh and ripe fruits ! Easy to use the stairs for our room at second floor. The is nicely decorated as in the restaurant.

Swimming pool water too cold to swim.

Stayed overnight while heading south the the Pyrenees. Nice hotel in town, close to the centre. Breakfast was good.

    Nothing, all good.

Nice bed and vet quiet locationSecure parkingGood showe

The service and food in the restaurant for lunch was appalling and the staff didn't seem to care that we had to wait ages for our food to arrive. One of our friend's desert didn't turn up at all Our room wasn't ready for us when we arrived either and was very cold too. Luckily the heater was working and a suitable temperature was achieved. No milk provided in room and the chap we asked for some was very reluctant to do so.

Breakfast excellent. Restaurant nice but they did not serve evening meals. They had a basic room service menu but nothing in dining room then on last day they seemed to have dining room open with room service menu.

    6SandraPosted on: 8-31-2024

    Rooms were excellent

Food at lunch was dreadful. Overcooked and really inedible.Breakfast was good

    6StephenPosted on: 8-22-2024

Staff were helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town centre/restaurants/shops. breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

We had an upgrade to a superior room as part of booking through Booking.com which was appreciated, however the room we had on our outward journey in July was very nice (Nespresso coffee machine and a mini bar / fridge with cold water) the room on the return journey felt a little tired and in need of some paint here and there (also no coffee machine and empty fridge). It was also a room designed for wheelchair access which meant the shower area was very open.
