Convience, although it is some way from the train station. The breakfast is good.

Only thing is that the stairs are a little hard with luggage. If I was older I might not have coped.

Location not bad, more or less halfway from train station to old city.Clean rooms and beds.

Small room was too hot to sleep in even with temperate weather. Supplied ventilator didn't do much for us. Street too noisy to have windows open. Breakfast at 8 only. Check in only at 17h (as advertised, tbh) and no possibility to leave bags at reception. Hard mattresses.

Owner very friendly and helpful.Breakfast tasty and plentiful.Close to town centre but very calm location.

9KatrinaPosted on: 6-1-2024

Great location close to centre of town and just a short walk to the port where there was a variety of really nice restaurants. We were upgraded to a bigger room at no extra cost. It was very clean.

Comfortable, very good breakfast, helpful owner

As it was out of season we almost had the hotel to ourselves, the breakfast was good and plenty full and we could come and go as we pleased

The stairs could be a bit of a problem for older people

The buffet breakfast was good - perfect croissants! - and a selection of other items. The hotel was good value for money. The location was close to the town centre and had a selection of restaurants only a minute away. The welcome was warm, helpful and friendly.

Have stayed here before a few years ago, it was not as good standard as it was then. Bar etc was closed and was a Saturday, maybe permanently closed, don't know. It was perfect for an overnight stop.

Close carpark and comfy bed

No milk for morning coffees

8JudyPosted on: 8-20-2023

Location and easy parking outside the hotel

There was a bad smell in the room but was gone after airing it for a good 10 minutes. The pillows need to be changed.

Location was perfect, really close to the city centerBeds relatively comfortable

Very low value for money (and first time I wwrite a negative review)first cleanliness: we found hair (and other things I wouldn't describe) in the bathroom. Relatively unpleasant odour when we arrived in the room (small was gone after 10m of venting)Second, staff. Nobody at the reception. No safe place to store the luggage, even though we insisted (even in 1* hotel or youth hostel we can do it). "You can store them below the stairs in front of the entrance, but make sure you have nothing valuable in the luggage"Third, breakfast. It will cost you less to buy all what you need for breakfast.

Friendly owner.Hotel located just on the outskirt of the town centre and about 15 mn walk downhill to the St Goustan harbour.Funky deco

Reception only opens from 5 pm to 9 pm for check-in and on Sunday only on call within this same time frame. I was kinda notified of the very limited check-in time frame by a message when I booked but since this was 3 months before the date, a reminder closer to our arrival date would have been handy and avoided us waiting on the pavement on a Sinday when everything else is closed.

The Celtic Hotel has an excellent central location in the main shopping area of Auray and is easy for access. The rooms are very good, recently redecorated, large and well equipped. Metered parking in a public park is available close to the hotel. Good breakfast and very helpful staff/management,.

I don't think the Celtic had any significant disadvantages.
