Pros +
- Positioned within the city of Argentan, you can easily reach many destinations on foot from the hotel. The price was decent for the stay.
- Basic accommodation, looking rather run down and dated but everything was clean, and the shower was fine. There is a cellar where we could leave our bikes safely overnight.
- It’s not a chain hotel.
Cons -
- The breakfast, while provided fast, was very simple and unfulfilling and didn't provide real value for money.I stayed there on a Friday night, and for some reason traffic on the road was very noisy up until about 1AM. I did leave a window open to get some fresh air, but even with the window closed the vehicles driving around in the middle of the night caused quite a lot of noise. The bed wasn't too good.
- Proprietor not very welcoming although in fairness we arrived before it opened at 6pm and phoned to let him know we had arrived. The breakfast, at additional cost, was a baguette, a croissant each and coffee. The hotel is located a bit away from the centre.
- The place has a lot of potential unfortunately it needs repairs. The toilet ran all night two nights in a row, I sent the owners a text the first time but didn’t hear back. I stayed 3 nights and the room wasn’t cleaned once. I had to ask for toilet paper and for them to clean the one tiny garbage can. The tile was coming up where it met the hardwood floor. The timing to pick up the key is very inconvenient, after 6pm and before 8 pm, only the after 6 was written down. It could be a really cute place, but as is I wouldn’t recommend it.

It did what we needed it to. Easy enough to find, on our route. It was convenient at 8pm at night to check in, get something to eat & drink & then go to our room.
The hotel is situated on a busy roundabout. As it was warm, we had the window open, the road noise was horrendous all night.
The receptionist/server was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Dinner was simple but nice.
Parking is a nightmare. We were very fortunate to get one of the 5 spaces next to the hotel. The stairs were difficult - wide, turning and no handrail in places.
Glad it was only for one night
Ensuite - shower full of mildew. Toilet and hand basin ok. Broken bedside table
No hassle. The manager sent me a message because it was a late check-in. Everything went to plan.It is a good “one-nighter”
Because it is mainly overnight stays for travellers it can get a little noisy because some people arrive late (and they are never quiet!!) and some people get up and leave early. Apart from that, no issues whatsoever.
Very clean & spacious bedroom - situated on a busy crossroad but not a big problem with the window shut
Very friendly atmosphere, like staying with family relatives.I had a meal in the evening (buffet)and the food was good.
Good location. Breakfast was good in the circumstances as we forgot to book! Parking right outside the hotel was also good.
All good really.
cheap low cost. shower had hot water.
very basic pub type accommodation. I was in the attic 3rd floor. one staircase meant that I spent the night listening for the potential of a fire! very basic accommodation. paper thin walls.
Located in a very pretty town with lots of facilities for visitors. The hotel was very good considering the price. It had a 'homely' feel and the staff were very friendly. The hotel had a very good restaurant and bar and the food and drink were inexpensive for what was on offer. It was nice to have a room that had no frills and and the bed was quite comfortable.
Although it did not bother me I could see that some people may be put off due to the hotel's proximity to a roundabout that is quite busy at times. The room I was in was double glazed so I hardly heard ony of the traffic noise. If you like to sleep with the window open then it may not be the best place to stay. The shower could have had a proper handle fitting as it had to be held all the time as it would not attach to the wall fitting.
Available parking.
The website stated it was disabled suited - simply stated, it was certainly not. The small shower room was potentially dangerous for a disabled person & the shower was impossible to use as the step into it was too high & there was nothing to safely use to gain entry. The proximity of the road & inability to darken the room made for a bad night's sleep. We booked out prematurely because of the enhanced painful night for my wife. The downstairs public toilet required thorough cleaning. Breakfast was basic but the breads were good. For the price charged, the facilities were dated & in some instances unsafe. The experience was incomparable to anywhere else we had stayed in during the last number of years.
Friendly welcome. Great overnight stop.
very friendly and easy to communicate
Very close to centre. Good parking facility.
Location.
The breakfast was a little simple, no fromage or jambon.
