Brit Hotel Argentan

Please don't be put off by a slightly tired exterior (decorators are working), this is a real find, it provides a decent quiet room, excellent evening meal , good breakfast with early start for onward travel, interesting town within walking distance or very short drive, and has good road connections,, dog friendly, all at sensible prices. Would definitely stay again.

Lacklustre

The access machine did not work and staff on phone did not speak English and was hostile! The building is as like an oven and breakfast was poor. No milk in coffee machine.

Breakfast was ok.

It is dated and could seriously do with a lick or two of paint, room was hot and no air-con.

due with the heat we had the window open during the evening and was very noise from the road.

I had a bath, which was a godsend after 6 hours on a ferry and 2 hours in a car.

My husband and son's room, they had had to jam 4 cards in to the room key card holder to get it to work and it was intermittent.

I would have liked the restuarant to have been open.

The checking was easy, as we arrived after the reception closure.

There was no soap in the room, we were not able to request any at reception until the morning after as the reception was closed for the night.We were woken up at 4am with a weird noise, it sounded like gravel were "raining", my husband thought it was the radiator.

Just the right distance to break my journey from port to destination. Comfortable and clean room, friendly staff, very good food evening and breakfast. Very agreeable stopover, close to the motorway.

Nothing to note at the hotel. My satnav was not all that helpful though. Might have been useful to know it is situated on a trading estate.

There isn't a restaurant.There is a breakfast place only as restaurant as the hotel claim there is one closes at 6pm, so if you looking to get dinner this is close.There isn't many restaurants around.

Quality /price, very good. Nothing luxuirous but nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was nice. Room was clean and bed was nice. Check in was easy and you can check in at any time, just be sure to let them know.

The published time for breakfast was 7:30 and we had no problem during the weekdays, but our stay lasted during the weekend, and they did not serve breakfast until 8, which was not what was published. That affected our travel. Also, during the week, they are good at changing our towels and making the bed but again, on the weekend, even though it was not published, this service was not available. When we returned to the hotel on a Friday night, we had no towels and had to leave early on Saturday morning. Again, this lack of service affected our travel. We were able to get new towels, but only after the reception opened up at 8 AM. When we addressed this with the reception, nothing was done to adjust the price we paid. In our opinion, we paid for the room and certain services, part of which we did not receive. In other words, we did not get what we paid for.

only a few hundred meters off the motorway. it allows dogs in the room and in the restaurant for breakfast.

Very accessible a stop off from Caen ferry. easy access late evening with automatic check in. clean rooms. good breakfast.

Couldn’t shut corridor door without it beeping, though could still shut inside doors.

Location, parking, the room & the breakfast were all good. Good, secure grass area outside for walking the dog.

Great bathroom and super-comfortable bed. Looks to be recently refurbished, excellent location if you are arriving via Caen ferry at night and heading south (or to stop off on the way if you have an early ferry the next day).
