Hotel Kalemi

Fascinating historical property, able to park on property, staff very warm, helpful and hospitable. Large modern bathroom comfortable bed.

Would have appreciated electric kettle for tea in the room.

Host was great, views were fabulous and breakfast was amazing. Great location too.

Very helpful staff. They came to meet us to help with directions and parking. Access was difficult as it is in the old town but the location is great for sightseeing. Excellent breakfast. Some noisy music from a neighbour.

Honestly, Kalemi 2 blew us away! We booked Kalemi 1, but the amazing staff surprised us with a free upgrade to Kalemi 2!, stunning castle vibes and top-notch facilities made our stay unforgettable. Parking was a breeze(which is a hastle in this town), and exploring Gjirokaster's Old Town was steps away. But what truly impressed? The manager chasing us down to return our forgotten belongings. That's heart! Kalemi 2, you've earned our loyalty – 10/10, wholeheartedly recommended!Kristina, Fiola and Altga's genuine warmth - if you are into hospitality business. Hire them right away :)

Very good location, stone's throw from bazaar and castle, with lots of restaurants nearby. Staff exceptionally friendly, and went out of the way to be helpful. Owner said 'Make yourself at home' and indeed felt very at home.

Lovely room with carved ceiling and local rugs. Good heating control.

Pillows too high, would like a flatter pillow.

This is a lovely heritage hotel in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage area. It's a great spot to explore from on foot.Our room at the top of the hotel had a lovely view. Others we saw further down are notable for their lovely architecture. The host was very helpful and has great English if your Albanian is limited. The directions to hotel were very useful particularly when self-driving in into Girokastra along the narrow, historical cobbled streets. Breakfast was very good and an excellent start to the day. I would happily stay here again.

Difficult to find using google maps but we got help from many people along the way!

The room was adequate but quite basic . It certainly bore no resemblance to the picture above . The situation in the town was good

Very unique property in a traditional Albanian style. The views were incredible especially from the upstairs balcony and it was an easy walk to town. Beds were also comfy and the breakfast in the garden was truly a special memory and atmosphere. Staff too were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back!

Great location and views. Walking distance from main street. Parking in site. Breakfast in garden was fantastic. Staff was very helpful and nice. We had dinner in their terrace better than a crowded restaurant with castle views.

In case you have healthy problems, there are stairs although staff helps you with your luggage.

Hotel Kalemi is a historic hotel within walking distance of the market at Gjirokaster. The staff were very welcoming and even provided a drop to the market when they were going there. Amazing views from our Pasha room (we paid for an upgrade on check-in). When we had some issues with charges for extra coffee at breakfast, they were kind enough to waive the charges. Overall, a great stay and good choice at a covenient location.

The hotel breakfast was just average compared to other breakfast experiences we had in Albania. It was decent not outstanding.

Totally beautiful place, stunning views over the town and mountains, highly recommended. Comfy room with everything at a very high standard. We loved the Breakfast served on amazing balcony. Owners friendly and helpful. A short walk down the hill to all the fun restaurants and bars of the beautiful town.

Nothing at all. Only wish there was a kettle in the room - or the chance to borrow one. We like to make tea in the mornings when first wake up.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a struggle. narrow streets in old town.

Lovely old building, delightful young woman received us and gave good local advice; great breakfast.

No fridge in the room, but the host kindly kept something in the cold drinks cabinet for us.

At the top of the hill and the common balconies had a beautiful view! Stunning! The service was fab as well. Breakfast was in their cute courtyard and it was simple but delicious! Even if you are vegetarian, it's not too bad!
