- Breakfast good, loved having brewed coffee - unusual in Africa!! ;) and the French press in the room exceptional! Excellent facilities and the historical aspect lovely. Great amenities - a bit for everyone. Room heater, electric mattress pads, insect spray and cream unexpected.
- Amazing hotel, the food was out of this world! I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone who wants to experience true Namaqualand hospitality. Highly recommend!!
- Best place to stay in the area. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and have everything you need. The Restaurant is exceptional, the food is really good, had the best Malva pudding ever. Wifi is good.
Cons -
- The manager of the hotel bothered my 10 and 11 year old children, starting inquisitive conversation with them. We (parents) did not get permission to the manager to do so. Utterly inappropriate.
- my TV didn't tun on. Bathroom tile floor FREEZING. Maybe some disposable slippers provided would help?
- The view from the room wasn't the best but that goes with the location. Overall very positive experience, staff very friendly and helpful.

It was very convenient and close to our sites that we worked at. Staff were great, courteous and knowledgeable.
Comfortable accommodation, spacious self-catering apartment. Wonderful restaurant with tasty meals and generous portions! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, lovely place to visit to see the wildflowers.
Friendly, helpful staffWarm bedsCosy roomsDelicious breakfast
Long wait for hot water in the shower. No soup available for supper.
Meals: quality, helpings, pricing!Staff: friendly, efficient, helpful!
Location: surrounding area rundown and felt unsafe Facilities: dated and somewhat tired, require revamp
Loved the rooms, it was clean and neat. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Definitely visiting again. The food was amazing too.!
The main road. At night the sound travelled and did not sleep well, but not because of the self catering rooms. The speed in that road also was of concern. Other than that. It was perfect for the weekend wedding at the hotel. We made use of the self catering opposite the main reception.
Wonderful place to stay over. We had a really spacious Family room, Dinner was fantastic, the Manager and Staff are super friendly. Will definitely stay there again.
A good stop on the way to Namibia, reasonably close to the border. The pool was nice and the dinner we had at the restaurant was also good.
A
It's such a wonderful little hotel. It's a real little gem.Ben hosted us magnificently. There was nothing that was too much trouble for any of the staff. The museum was fascinating.Food was outstanding.
Great hotel! Their food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Going to stay there again on our next trip to Namibia and Botswana!
Dinner was absolutely delicious! We had the lamb neck and potjie.Value for money and more than enough to eat!
Professional and friendly staff. The manager Alan was very helpful and informative about the area and sightseeing options.Food was excellently prepared and delicious. It is a wonderful stopover for a family with children. This hotel is a gem in the middle of nowhere! The museum attached to the hotel was also very interesting.Safe parking ,security was good.Thank you for a wonderful stopover!
The hotel is a gem! We received an outstanding service. Their staff is friendly and professional. The family room had everything we needed for a pleasant stay from comfortable beds and 3 sets of different sizes and softness pillows to filter coffee and 2 ply toilet paper:) The room was clean, the beddings and towels were white and smelled heavenly. We had a lovely dinner at their restaurant ( white table cloth restaurant !!!). I highly recommend to taste their divine lamb curry and chocolate brownie! They make firewood pizzas which was very convenient for my family with children.A perfect memorable stopover between Windhoek and Cape Town !
Nothing, everything was perfect!
good food and hospitality.
the foyer or passage carpets need a good scrub and wash. Can include a small play area for little kids and kids pool. The current pool is small and mostly occupied by adults. Lack of vents in toilet and bathroom.
Very friendly, helpful & considerate staff. Really appreciate that they moved us to a different room as there was a loud event near the room that was booked. Provided for all our requests.
We had booked a self-catering family room with braai area and had planned our dinner accordingly. We were only informed that we had been moved to a family room on arrival (the move was appreciated), but this resulted in having to walk to and from reception to arrange braai grids etc. to use at the common braai area. Some fore planning in this regard would have made our stay a bit easier.
Alles is perfek.
Very friendly staff and the position were excellent upon return route to the Garden Route from Namibia. Very neat the surrounding with trees and plants.Food is good.Safe parking close to the room.
The hotel is an old lady that needs some TLC, indoors. The hotel is absolutely lovely but find that it is a bit costly, and no bottled water in the room.
