Mountain Lake Hotel

Very happy with our stay here. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable , we had a heater which kept the room at an ambient temperature the wifi is good and there is smart tv for anyone wanting to log into Netflix. If we had time to stay longer we would have. The dinner was excellent and we had a good variety of food available at breakfast time. Would recommend to others.

Nice staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, dog friendly, good breakfast, plenty of parking spots, perfect Wi-fi.

No AC in the apartment- we were really cold during the night. Also, the pool could have been at least 5 degrees warmer.

Amazing location, very nice rooms, very comfortable, nice facilities: the pool and sauna! Very clean and comfortable with hot water and nice staff. (For example, in the last day, we were all four, leaving very early, so we asked if they could prepare something for the road because the breakfast was paid: and they did prepare some sandwiches, fruits water and other stuff).

Food... I mean, the food was the worst we had in any 3 - or 4-star hotel we ever stayed in. Exept for the brackfast where you had what to choose at least. But the rest... It's just awful... Anything we ordered was a mixed bag of frozen stuff (literally the vegetables were cold, almost frozen) or absolutely no taste. I mean, simple rice, chicken soup, and even a margarita pizza were plain bad. So yeah... we bought our food from the nearby city stores or went to another nearby restaurant...

The hotel is located around a green and peaceful area, offering opportunities for relaxation and connecting with the nature. Far from the city and close to many eco trails and forest paths provides opportunities for exploring the region and the beauty of Rhodope Mountains.

The cleanliness of the rooms could have been better. One of our family members had to sleep on the couch. The couch itself wasn't clean at all, it had remains of crisps and other crumbs from previous guests, which we had to clean ourselves. We had used the toiletries provided by the hotel on the first day and they weren't recharged for the next 3 days. The attitude of the staff at the restaurant wasn't so pleasant as well, especially at breakfast. At the exact announced ending hour of the breakfast, we were asked to leave the restaurant, despite from the fact that we weren't done, with an explanation that they have to clean the restaurant for lunch. In contrast, in all of the other hotels we have been, at the ending hour of the breakfast the staff just take back the food trays, but leaves you to finish your breakfast at your table and doesn't force you to leave the restaurant immediately.

Great great hotel. Nice quiet place in the middle of the nature. Staff are super friendly and nice. They left us stay more than 3 hours more after the deadline for check out. Really helpful and nice gesture !! will visit again for sure !!

Shower is quite small, but ok overall

I liked that the sauna was included. The apartment was very cozy and had a very nice vibe.

I was hoping there could be a few more hot food options.

The location, the quality of the hotel, the availability of food.

There should be more active promotion and info on local activities and guiding.

Very helpful staff in the restaurant, very kind reception staff and cleaning lady in Afrodita villa. Thank you all!It was smart to make a sledge way for kids to use it. Will be back one day....

1 more coffee machine during breakfast would make life easier,-More clean area in spa, swimming pool corners can be washed better,-hamam never was warm enough, as well as water in the pool was 28 degrees. -A lot of plastic and glass garbage dont make forest near hotel attractive- and could be picked up easily.-14.02 is not a big holiday and instead of having press for customers to attend dinner better would organise an activity for kids after breakfast time. Would be more appreciated by kids and parents.especially when hotel had 20++ kids same time. -Shuttle for ski would be nice to have as well, different departure time. -pedestrian could be cleaned from ice and snow much better. - if you dont stay in main building then you need to walk across the street to spa and restaurant.

The food.

It was clean , it had a lot of things to do, was very cheap and amazing quality, food was all so tasty.

Even though everything was amazing I think there was a little too much chemicals in the pool and we barely stayed an hour in the pool as our eyes were watering and burning from all the chemicals even though we didn’t get any water in eyes .

Great place for a quiet and family holiday. Nice apartments. Delicious food in the restaurant. Great breakfast to start the day. Great location for daytime walks in nature. Not far from Smolyan.

Bad

First of all, we were disturbed by the racism of the overweight woman working at the reception. Although we went with two small children, they made us wait for 1 hour to check in. The rooms should be ready before 2 o'clock and the guests should check in at 2 o'clock after arriving at the hotel and we checked in at 3 o'clock and for some reason the people who came after us were Bulgarian and we were Turkish so we were kept waiting. When we asked what we needed to know about the pools, we got rude answers and the floor tiles in front of the changing rooms and the pool entrance were incredibly slippery. Our child fell twice and they did not take any precautions for this. I paid 700 lv for 3 evenings and they do not deserve a penny. It is a disgrace. If you are running a hotel and treating people as guests, show some interest and a smile.

It is a great place to stay so in general I recommend it.

breakfast was not at the expected level to say the least. for this reason we've not even tried to use the restaurant, there is another hotel nearby where we went for dinner.

The location. At the hearth of Rodopi Mountain , eco path The three Smolian Lakes start from there. Very close to all the places we wanted to visit , still secluded enough away from the crowd. Lovely view from the balcony , magical indeed. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Variety and well presented. You name it - they have it. Forgot to mention outside is stunning and hiring apartment in the summer with friends is something i would love to do , as they have so many outdoors facilities BBQs , and i can only imagine how lovely is in the summer ( we visited in October , and were in the hotel).

Nothing to dislike. Previously read reviews about “how pricey “ it is, however , I’d say you get the value from your money. Very impressed of the restaurant , presentation of the meals and menu itself, so I don’t mind to be price when you are happy with the value. The only disappointment was the Spa - only the hot nordic sauna worked and three more didn’t. Infra sauna , and the others didn’t work. I would suggest to the management to reconsider as well how they name the facilities as the “steam” sauna was actually not a steam sauna- when i stressed this to staff , they said oh it’s a Hamam. Well, i’ve been to Hammams many time across the world , that’s not a hamam either. Apart from this , i would highly recommend the place to visit and stay , and if the spa could be re- managed to work properly and offer services according to the description they gonna be close to perfection.

We came for hiking, did not have a car, and this place was within walking distance (30 minutes or less) to a few trails. I stayed in the apartment because I wanted a kitchen, but the kitchen was not actually a kitchen. Room was spacious, super clean, super comfy beds, and lovely nature all around. It was quiet and peaceful, and the hotel breakfast that was included was great. Lots of fresh fruit and breads (but not much else for vegetarians)The restaurant staff were really kind and accommodating. There is a sauna and pool for use by all who stay there.

The kitchen should come with a hot plate to cook on, as well as pots, pans, and dishes and cups to eat and drink from, and also a sponge and dish detergent to wash dishes with. A kitchen towel would also be helpful.I thought I would be able to cook, but that was not the case. Advertising as a kitchen is false advertising.

Close to nature, activities for the kids , good ans tasy food

It was very hot in the night for us but that might be even positive for some people.Its individual preference.
