Pros +
- The location, near the center, pretty quiet, if you have to get a ferry is ideal place. Also good food in the restaurant.
- Seafront with fantastic view of huge ferry boats coming and goings. Parking available all night right across the street for Euro 1.60. Sweet french balcony with real wood shutters overlooking the harbor. Spotlessly clean. Street can be a bit busy during the day but is completely empty and silent at night. They welcomed me and my 8 kg friendly dog.Reception staff was warm and welcoming. You can park in front during check-in. There's a supermarket about 150m away.
- Location , view and comfortable
Cons -
- Old furniture and look, needs a refreshment.
- The recessed LED pot-lights are blinding white. They really could change it to a soft temperature of light. No refrigerator. Reception is closed after 21:00. They've apparently upgraded (or just added individual bathrooms) so you have to step up then down into the room from the corridor. I assume that the new piping was installed there, requiring a raised floor in the room entry. Not bad, just awkward.
- Unfortunately our room was next to a very noisy family ( Dad, Mom and 4 years old kid ) shouting and yelling all the time starting 7 in the morning, nonstop !!! Even though when The booked my room asked for quiet area . Other than that all was good .

The pillows are too high and stiff. I wanted real feathers pillow that adapted around one's head. The windows allow noise from the street to penetrate the room. Everything else is fine.
The location was great, it was clean and fairly maintained.
I thought the staff were quite rude, apart from one lovely lady on the reception as I left. The breakfast could have been better and the fridge in the room did not work. I wanted to call the reception during the night about the noise from the next room was unable to do so because there was no number for reception next to the phone. This meant that I was kept up from 3:20am - 5am due to the next rooms noise.
Comfy room, good location near the harbour. Very good breakfast. Our dog was welcomed.
I thought the 15 euro charge excess for the dog was a bit excessive for one night. We were not charged with 'extra cleaning' for any of the other hotels we stayed in on this trip (2) or to be fair on any other trip we have made recently in Italy. We do live in Italy but anyway, the hotel was very still very nice and friendly.
Great stay!
I had an excellent stay at Hotel Gran Duca! The rooms were comfortable, providing the perfect space to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. A highlight of my visit was the on-site restaurant, which offered a fantastic selection of fresh fish dishes paired with an impressive wine list. Every meal was a delight, showcasing the quality and care put into their cuisine. I would highly recommend Hotel Gran Duca to anyone looking for a welcoming and enjoyable stay.
Excellent location for catching the ferry to Corsica. The continental breakfast was good value.
The very central location means that it is very noisy, and it wasn't really possible to have the windows open.
Great location with a nice view of the port.
Staff were not very friendly, breakfast was poor.
Very friendly staff, comfy beds and clean showers, AC in the room, good breakfast, very near to the harbour for the several passenger ferries, many bars and restaurants in walking distance (about 15min)
Noisy - very much! Located near a main street and there is bad noise cancelling of the windows, earplugs highly recommended for silence enjoyers
Great location, restaurant and helpful staff. Parking available (chargeable) outside.
Air conditioning was ineffective. Sound proofing also ineffective. Very old fashioned bathroom.
Available on time, well located, met our requirements
Good
Air conditioning in the rooms not working, I had to change rooms and there was no other room for my colleague
Conveniently located, very clean and spacious room
Restaurant is expensive and with mediocre cuisine.
Hotel was selected because of proximity to the cruise port. Large clean room.
Service and staff with poor customer service both in hotel and restaurant. Long wait, client ignored.
great location and facilities,helpful staff
Location is the best , Staff are very gentle kind and professional, room is excellent big and very clean all is supper highly recommend the Duca Hotel .
nothing !
Location was excellent the shower was very good, bed was extremely comfy
The breakfast was disappointing
Good location near the city centre and harbour.
The room was quite small. The WIFI of the hotel is really poor indeed. It only works occasionally.
Attractive breakfast room.
The facility is rough around the edges. The carpets need to be cleaned. It is on a major roadway and VERY noisy with bus, auto and motorcycle traffic. If you are a light sleeper, look elsewhere. If you are a heavy sleeper, wear earplugs.
