Pros +
- The hot pools and cafes at the pools are well maintained and reasonably priced with generous food portions. The staff were friendly and courteous.
- the Pool area was well kept and maintained. It was the best part of the whole resort. The Restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. The location of the resort is lovely, and the views are really beautiful.
- We liked the beautiful hills surrounding the property and the very friendly staff.
Cons -
- The mountain chalets whilst beautifully located are dated and in serious need of a revamp. Whilst each unit has its own jacuzzi the location underneath the cabin is not appealing and we rather walked to the hot pools for a more aesthetic setting. The area surrounding the cabins are very noisy and we were unlucky to have both noisy and rude neighbours who took massive offence when asked to move away from our bedroom window where long pound conversations were being conducted at around midnight ?The beds are old and uncomfortable (mattress too firm, lost it's cushioning at this point)
- My room initially was very disappointing and not at all to my expectations, I complained and then they changed my room which was a bit better, but the up keep of the whole place is much to be desired, paint is peeling and there is patch work on the walls, the carpets are old and dark and dingy, air conditioners leaking and water on the floors in the passage ways which is not safe as there are kids running around, and tables and chairs have chips in them
- We did not like the lack of activities at the resort.

We did not like the lack of activities at the resort.
Had dinner which was really outstanding and breakfast was a good spread which catered for all dietary options. I had to pay extra for a cappuccino that was just average. Staff are outstanding and very friendly and they made wonderful wine tasting recommendations. The pools were absolutely lovely and incredibly clean. I would make an adults only pool on one side as we went to swim the following morning with no children splashing and screaming. Would visit again if in the area as overall it was enjoyable.
The bedroom floor was dirty, probably only half swept and not mopped. The bathroom water damage is very bad but the shower was great. Bad quality coffee in bedroom. Light switches were extremely confusing. To operate aircon was difficult. Bedroom fan did not want to turn on at night which we wanted to use instead of the aircon. By the morning the aircon had turned off and the fan in the bedroom was turning. Haha - still confused how that happened.
Self-catering was comfortable, clean and had all necessary items
The pluming was very bad. And the bathroom was very outdated and unsafe to use the shower. The toilet is very badly suited and stained.
The pools are great, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was also good and tasty. the kids had a ball, pool staff and outside bar is nice.
The room we booked online was different to what we got, the family room had 1 tiny couch for my 2 boys to sleep on, they hardly fitted and had to sleep head to toe to fit, very misleading. wasnt very impressed, staff just ignored me when i pointed out the images on the website are not even close to the "family" room we got.
Hot pools, jacuzxi and good buffet breakfast
Take away food. Pizza and chips were awful. No still water available. Cocktail special was advertised but nobody knew about it. Had to call the Manager who said it was withdrawn yet it was still advertised.
Staff friendliness, kid’s water slide, great breakfast.
Outdoor pools were a bit cold.
Everything was clean and it wasn't too crowded
Nothing we didn't like from a service/experience point. It is a bit on the pricier side, stay and cafe/food wise. But you can go the self catering route and also if you book a chalet it sleeps 6 so you could split the cost to make it more affordable.
The warm pools and slides
There was no heating floors as previously, this was missed alot
The pools and general atmosphere at the resort. Food was well priced and breakfast was great.
The beds at our unit was unfortunatly rather hard. Would have been great if the beds were a bit softer
Pools are fabulous
Room is very tired and shabby. Kitchen units were sticky to the touch, unit did not feel clean. Deck particularly was filthy.
The bar and warm pools
Having to drive up and down
We Loved Avalon Springs.Beautiful Hot pools, combined with the Most Spectacular Mountain views, and The Best Breakfast!!Thank you for Sharing your Beautiful Peace of Paradise with us.Denise and Deon
A thoroughly enjoyable experience at a good price, perfect for all ages. Super clean and well run.
Breakfasts very good. Not too crowded.Room was generously proportioned
Our room (#15) is very noisy - air conditioner outside from the adjacent room, cavitation in the pipes from downstairs, screaming kids at night.Couldn't get to sleep before midnight. Some of staff were a bit slow.
The apartment was very well appointed with lovely views of the mountain. The staff were especially helpful and very friendly. It was a lovely place to stay to enjoy the hot springs facilities on site as well as to explore the surrounding areas. Food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced.
The shower in the bath was a bit awkward to use and get the water temperature constant.
After arriving we decided not to stay at the resort. The environment was not what we envisioned. General cleanliness in hotel and restaurant not up to standards
The tranquillity with the option that you could swim whenever and incredible service.
The room booked and the room received was different
