    • Location - a bit noisy at times ( street noise ).Staff service - very good.
    • Staff very friendly. Breakfast plentiful and very good coffee selection. Cuisine excellent, we only let us indulge in the hotel gatronomic. Surprising taste experience through imaginative composition of the ingredients with very good quality. There is also a wine list with award-winning wines. The hotel is a successful blend of tradition and contemporary comfort. Thanks to the whole team for 3 day in the little "Grand" Paradies.
    • mandy, Trevor and the team were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful! The room was comfortable and food was fantastic .. especially the durban lamb curry! attention to detail and overall hospitality was second to none !

    Cons -

    • Coffee in the room was of poor quality. No bacon at breakfast??No light switch at bedside.
    • -
    • The car park is a little small, so it gets a bit restrictive when the hotel is busy, but the staff always make a plan to accommodate you.

The staff was very friendly and exceptional in their service. The owners were onsite and very informative as to the local history and things to do in the area.

The hotel is really conveniently located in the centre of Robertson with great access. It has been superbly decorated and all the staff were so attentive, friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic and our room was really well appointed. Probably the best hotel shower ever in the bathroom!

The car park is a little small, so it gets a bit restrictive when the hotel is busy, but the staff always make a plan to accommodate you.

Breakfast was served on the stoep. Beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They really looked after us. Margaret was super attentive. The owners were also very good and giving us excellent customer service.

    Nothing comes to mind.

Upon arrival we were met by Mandy and Trevor the owners, and offered a welcome drink in the central courtyard by the poo

We enjoyed our breakfast. What a great variety of fresh and tasty foods. The service was outstanding and the staff and owners were so friendly and caring, we felt part of their family. The atmosphere and setting in the courtyard for breakfast and dinners were exceptional, providing the right ambiance to enjoy a sundowner (cocktails), dinner and so peaceful to enjoy an early morning cuppa coffee/tea and a hearty breakfast. I give the setting, breakfast/dinner/staff and management at 5/5 rating and a chef’s kiss.

No one thing about my experience at The Grand Hotel was less than 5/5. A true gem of a hotel.

The hotel has a very up market feel to it whilst being very friendly and warm, and we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was excellent as was dinner on the evening, we would have loved to take Mandy up on some of her local suggestions but unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, but would definitely return.

Recently renovated mansion. Accommodation spacious and lovely pool area. Breakfast and dinner served in deck adjacent to the pool.

The pool lacked a hand rail, as did the entrance steps. Not good for those with mobility problems.

Brilliant, especially eggs benedict.Staff were very friendly.Spa was brilliant.Bedding was top class.Trevor & Mandy, the owners have created a very comfortable "home".

Our room was on a very busy thoroughfare. When not busy/full and knowing that the room was on a busy/noisy road, I would have "upgraded" us to a quieter room.

Nice location , we did not walk anywhere as it was a one night stop on route. Ate in the restaurant which was lovely . Good breakfast . Nice owners very helpful.

Only a very Noisey air conditioning unit in the room , it was very warm but could not sleep with it on..

It is well located, very helpful friendly staff and excellent breakfast

    10BertrandPosted on: 2-20-2025

This place is an absolute gem – old school charm meets modern amenities in a well-designed fashion. Our room was huge, and very tastefully furnished – heritage wardrobe & dressing table plus freshly renovated & updated shower, tub & ceiling fan. The complimentary glass of local wine was an amazing greeting gesture, and the pool is a treat on hot Robertson days. The entire place is very serene, quiet and peaceful – just the right setting for an escape from e.g. busy city life. A la carte breakfast was a nice touch, the restaurant also has a great dinner menu. The owners & staff are extremely friendly and dedicated to their craft, highly appreciated!

    Nothing!

Loved the old colonial feel and enjoyed the odd creaking floors! New bathrooms were lovely too

    Nothing to dislike

Hands down the best hotel we stayed in on our SA holiday. The hotel is a beautifully done up period property. From the moment Mandy welcomed us with a glass of wine, until checkout, the experience was top notch. The food is excellent, the spa is wonderful, the rooms are well appointed with crisp white bed linen, and nothing is too much for Mandy and her well trained team. Even our car got a complimentary wash! Our only regret is not staying longer, we would have loved to go on a wine tour in their British black cab.

The hotel was well located for our purposes and easy to find. We were running late to get to a wedding and the owner and staff made the checking in process quick and easy. The staff are great! Breakfast was good. The hotel is tranquil, I can imagine staying there again. There are two Huskies on the property which were so sweet.

I stayed at The Grand hotel in my trip to experience the Saturday wine steam train (A definite must do) . I was taken back my the amazing hospitality. When I arrived I was given a complimentary ride to the train station in a London taxi! (How grand is that?)I spent most of the time relaxing and recuperating at the hotel afterward. It had more of a personal touch with the staff and owners ensuring that every minute details were seen to.The rooms were luxurious with comfortable linen, absorbant flooring and an all white bath tub and shower. It was pristinely clean. It definitley was a 5-star experience and was better than most hotels I visited local and abroad. The food was scrumptious and satisfying. If you would rather grab a book and lie by the poolside, definitely do!At the end , the hotels beloved huskys came to say goodbye!I would definitely visit again if I am the area.

    Nothing. Everything was grand.
