Pros +
- The staff are first class especially Ruzaan and Prince. It is because of the staff and the setting of LAB Robertson that this was my second visit. However the owner's husband was incredibly rude - I assume that is who he was as he came rushing out when (as i went in to breakfast) Buddy snapped at my dog resulting in a short fight and the owner was incredibly abrupt and rude to me. A waiter with an amazing smile came out and said oh dear Buddy is grumpy today, but do come in. That is how it should be handled. As a result of the owner 's husband, I who previously loved the LAB and recommended it, never went back for dinner that night or breakfast the next day and won't be returning to the LAB. Perhaps rather only target overseas guests without dogs.
- Location and Facilities are very good
- The chalet was beautiful. It was a memorable experience to have our own private jacuzzi. Even though it was cold outside, the heated jacuzzi just made it worth it!!We also appreciated the service of the staff, who went out of their way to make us comfortable. When the batteries of the aircon remote was dead, Terrance came to assist even though he was off shift. We loved the privacy of the chalet, having our own little "nook".We will definitely go back whenever we need to unwind
Cons -
- As above re the owner's rude husband. Also the door lock of room 21 is faulty and sticks.
- Room lacks privacy against passers by. A net curtain would be a simple solution
- The chalet is described as a "Valley view" chalet. However, this was not the case. So I was a bit disappointed with that in the beginning. It would be better to describe it as a "beautiful private suite".

Friendly staff. Excellent location. Good value for money.
Everything was exceptional. The staff were so helpful, the accommodation was perfect and clean and had a lovely view and to top it all the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the LAB
Nothing in my opinion, it was exceptional.
Friendliness of staff. Automation of the room is a nice touch. EV charging point was very welcome.
Outsiders enter the property for photo shoots which makes it uncomfortable to enjoy quiet time at the pool due to the noise and multitude of people walking past you and staring at you during their photo shoots.
I loved the panoramic views, jacuzzi and the friendliness of the staff. The peace and tranquility was good for the soul.My massage experience was also outstanding.
The surroundings, the people and dog friendly.
The breakfast and the lady who served us breakfast were good.
This was a horrible experience throughout and certainly not value for money. We will not be staying here again. We had a dinner reservation, which was cancelled on the day (Easter Sunday). When we arrived, it was raining. After a long drive, we parked, unpacked our bags and were taken to the room. It is a distance from the car park to the room. The room smelled so strongly of disinfectant, it had NO windows and there are also no windows in the toilet or shower. We opened the doors in an attempt to get the smell out, but it was cold and raining, but our only option. The room has many gimmicks (lights that change colours, speakers in the ceiling - which didn't work), the TV was unplugged but the basics are not met. The door to the room was difficult to open & close. The fridge acts as a bedside table (noisy), the toilet door cannot open fully because there is a massive desk in the way, there are no windows and the heat pump right outside the door runs all night and is also noisy. If we weren't so exhausted and not keen on driving in the rain at night, we would have packed up and driven home! We were offered a room upgrade, but those rooms looked the same and are far away from the room we had and had already unpacked all our things into and would have to unpack all in the rain to move, so we didn't. We were really looking forward to ending our holiday in this "lovely" place but what a disappointment. The farm and area are beautiful, but the room (we stayed in) leaves a lot to be desired. When we were checking in, the man still told us a lot of people complain that the the pictures on the website do not meet their expectations, which is why they offer the upgrade?! Wow.
Private unit with beautiful setting Lovely private outside area with heated jacuzzi.clean and comfortable with on site dining option
The comfortable bed, hot tub, gardens, view, restaurant, and pool. Everything.
Location, the staff and the food were excellent. We also loved the jacuzzi in our yard.
The room decor is a little too Spartan for my liking. Our room was very small. A few hooks to hang things would be good.
Beautiful location. Lovely facilities. The staff are amazing - they went out if their way to ensure we were well cared for. Loved the pool. For an extra treat, book a treatment with Maryna - bliss!
Pretty much perfect in every way
Friendly staff, great breakfast, and gorgeous views from our comfortable deck.
The peace and tranquility, tge beautiful dam, birdlife and surroundings The spa massage was outstanding!
The food is good! Make sure to reserve the table you want when you arrive!
Refrigerator in room, just by the bed must be a model 2010.. Loud on and off. Coffee machine just by the bed, smells coffee when you sleep (try). Sound system which has been good did not have volume to listen on.
Very friendly staffExcellent breakfastBeautiful surroundingsBig, clean swimming poolLovely hot tub3 friendly dogs on the premises, which we adoreDegree of finishing (tiling etc in room) is poor, doesn’t have premium feelHot tub very loud during the night; perhaps someone could proactively shut them down at 10pm?Refrigerator in room very loud as well
My stay at theLab Robertson was amazing. All the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. I had a wonderful neck and back massage in a wooden cabin across the lake; what a way to be close to nature. The breakfast was delicious.I would recommend theLab as a great breakaway that is located in a beautiful, relaxing setting. It is also a dog friendly environment, so pet lovers can bring their fur babies.TheLab is also in close proximity to various wine farms. I did a pairing at Van Loveren Family Wine Farm situated in a beautiful garden that is worth a visit.Thank you for my experience at theLab.
I don't have a negative viewpoint.
Lovely setting - nice pool and very helpful and friendly staff. Very nice bathroom.
Fridge in the bedroom was rather noisy
Room was lovely and very comfortable.
The only down side and totally out of the Lab's control were the mosquitos but we had tabbard so we were sorted.
