Pros +
- The apartment we received was very spacious and comfortable, a new, well-equipped unit with a pleasant design. The staff were extremely kind, polite, and helpful, responding to all our requests with a smile. The location also allows you to discover less touristy but absolutely stunning parts of the island, which made our stay special.
- It was a good room and very clean.
- In la digue you have to move around on cycles and the slope of the hotel is quite steep. Very difficult to cycle up.
Cons -
- The location is a bit far from the main tourist area and situated on a hill, which makes it slightly challenging to reach by bicycle. There were also a couple of days when water and electricity were unavailable for most of the day, but this was an island-wide issue, not specific to the hotel.
- The staff was nice and helpful but it always seemed like they did not actually wanted to help. They gave us bikes that were broken and when we said that the bike didn’t work, they told it it was normal? We also asked for a shuttle and it was 45 minutes late while we had the ferry to take (maybe that is not 100% on them but still come over as unprofessional).
- Please do not book any excursion through the hotel. We booked one and it was not an authorised company. We were supposed to have a 4-5 hour excursion of different islands but they got us back in 2 hours saying that the water was very choppy. And we did not receive any refund for that.

Our room (7) was very spacious and comfortable with a big balcony. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, taking good care of us throughout the stay. The location is good, relatively close to the jetty and to one of the more popular beaches on La Digue. The breakfast was good, especially the fresh mango juice!
We booked a bicycle and a tricycle well in advance, and were given a price of 200 SCR for the tricycle. However, upon collection, it suddenly turned out that the tricycle costs 300 SCR, which caught us a little off guard. We showed the previous communication regarding the prices, and despite this, all we got was an excuse that there had been a mistake, but they cannot do anything about it. Upon checking out, we were asked to pay a “service fee” for having used the restaurant. Our booking included half board, and the dinner was hit and miss. I personally enjoyed all my meals, but my girlfriend didn’t really. We felt that the price we paid for the half board didn’t really match what we got. The shower in the bathroom was rusty and could use a little updating, but other than that it worked just fine. They are currently expanding the restaurant, which is great, but unfortunately the construction works take away from the mountain view, which is currently rather obstructed by this new addition.
It's a small island. The hotel is located at the far point to the south on Mid Hill, far from everything, yet the photos we saw in booking made us choose it.We arrived at the island evening time so we pre booked a taxi with the hotel (by hamisha, which cost 250r - expensive 17euro for 5 min drive), but we wanted easy way from the ferry.Upon arrival, the taxi driver put in the car, 8 more passengers... when i asked to understand why, he said, "If you don't like it, you can go." So we did and found beter and chipper taxi for 150r (10e).We arrived at the hotel.the reception is connected to the dining room, and the mini pool is all together on 40m²Much more, the place is a construction site (aperntly for long time before... and no one mentioned that important fact on reservation)The room was quite big and clean.Wifi was working very weak.We talked to the reception before arivel to rent a bicycle (the way to move in the island) so the reception lady hamisha tried to force 150r per day, I told her not to book before I'll check (always negotiate)So I found online that if you take more than one day you pay less... so the hotel "found" another place cost 100r per day...The next morning at breakfast, there was a buffet, not riche, but enght, the next day we stayed alone at the hotel, so no buffet, and the breakfast was poooooor, dry bread and not cooked omelet, no coffee and the orange juice was hot from the day before still on the table.Hamisha was again at the reception when we told her that this is not what we paid for (850 euro for 5 nights, not for guest house)She started screaming, "You always complain, the taxi is not good for you, the bicycle is not good for you now you complain about the food, this is island and if you don't understand island don't come here".After some words, I got the understanding that she didn't get the commission she expected to get from the taxi and bicycle, so she is angry.
Amazing chef maybe he should run the place! Sincerely friendly and helpful and on top of it great cook!
People are friendly as long as they can get money from you. Same as everyone in Seychelles except the chef.... We had do buy water to drink for breakfast and dinner which is absurd for the price we paid.
the room, the staff and the location is outstanding. very comfortable room and bed.
it’s a pity that the price of the breakfast does not include water… it would be such a basic thing
Room view on mountain forest, breakfast, hotel staff, clean room
13min by bike to center, but it was worth it
The breakfast was delicious, and the room service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.
Location was perfect ?
Clean and comfortable room. Very comfortable beds. Staff is friendly and helpfull.
Location is a bit far from the central area and the road is steep. There is construction in progress but workers don't make noise if guests are in the hotel.
The best thing were the girls from the reception,so polite, simply excellent! The room was beautiful, mountains view, the breakfast was very good, really good value for the money. It is a little bit uphill,so take that in your mind. Close to the grand Anse beach which we found the best in the island. I defended recommend this place
Very friendly staff in a quiet atmosphere. Small scale hotel. Feels like home.
Ongoing construction work
Excellent holiday
I will start first with the staff. These guys ( Hamisha, Natalie and Giovanni the Chef) are gorgeous. They made our holiday even more pleasant then we expected. If you are into testing local food, fresh and well cooked by Chef Giovanni then you can choose half board. It worths it. Then, the location. You are in the middle of the jungle. You can hear every morning the sounds of those little birds. It’s so nice. You can rent a bike and go around the island to see amazing beaches. P.S for us Anse Cocos was the best.
The accommodation we stayed in is far from the hustle and bustle of the center. But it is relatively close to the most beautiful beaches. Great service, friendly staff, great food. Thank you to everyone who tries to make the guests happy. Bogdan and Lili ??♂️?

The view is great, the rooms perfectly clean, the breakfast is nice, and most importantly the staff is so kind! Hamisha was there to make our every day and help with whatever we needed. Thank you Ham!
The hotel is undergoing construction, they mainly do it during the day when you're out so it didn't bother us too much.
Its a nice boutique hotel on the hill, very clean and with nice staff. Rooms are facing jungle, you can hear the sounds of nature and lots of green. Big rooms with balcony, we had a great time.
Comfortable bed
The staff seems nice but it’s all fake, they are trying you to suggest something which is actually for their interests. Very slow service and language barrier. They will offer you bikes from Chloe’s self catering but please skip them because condition of bikes is really bad, you can get seriously injured because of that, and they ask for all the money in front, after that you cannot complain about it and they are threatening you with the police.
Very spacious family room with one king bed and one single bed, good AC, breakfast is enough: eggs and coffee of your choice prepared for you, porridge, toasts, flakes, fruit and cake. Of course missing veggies and cheese and ham are very simple but if you expect 5 star breakfast go to 5 star resort. In general food options in Seychelles is specific. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bikes at 120 SCR per bike/day at Chloe’s 200 m down the road
Yes, it is at the peak of the hill so the last 200 m by foot or by bike is a bit of a struggle but otherwise it would be too simple and too boring :)
The Hotel was clean the stuff was nice and welcoming. The breakfast was very good.
It’s located up on the mountain. It’s not easy to climb with the bicycle up there few times a day especially at night. And also there is a construction in front of the pool and I felt uncomfortable to swim. But I did saw many guests that has used the pool with no problem.
I would recommend the Mountain View Hotel. The hosts are amazing and make you feel comfortable and welcome. The rooms are kept clean to a high standard and I will definitely be returning for another stay next year.
