Pros +
- Amazing location and very friendly staff. The views just can't be beat!!
- The view overlooking the beach is unrivaled. It’s a quiet family-owned resort that is comfortable and clean.
- The staff are very attentive, and courteous, breakfast was simple but sufficient. Rooms were very clean, with really good AC, view from rooms and balcony was overlooking the bay and beach.
Cons -
- Breakfast can have a bit more choice, but fruit selection is great!
- We didn’t mind it but you do have to walk up a steep hill and many stairs to get to and from your room and the Main Street.
- Nothing to not like really, steps to the higher villas were ... challenging for bad knees !!

Stunning view from the apartment, great spacious roomGreat restaurantFriendly staff
No direct access to the beach, you are supposed to leave the hotel and cross the little road. This is not mentioned in any description and I thought that a direct access (through stairs) was available.Breakfast is quite basicNescafe in the room was not refilled after the first ones were used. I love waking up and sipping a coffee with the stunning view of the bay before walking downstairs for breakfast, but could do only once. I asked the staff and got a positive answer but probably I was not understood as they kept not giving us any more the days after
It was way over expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard and surroundings.Staff very helpful and excellent service. With what I now know, we would have stayed longer.
Unfortunately there was a lot of roadworks going on right now, just below our balcony. However, it is probably finished in two-three weeks time. And it will bring sidewalks to the road, making it an even better location. It is somewhat remote, meaning you will benefit from a rental car. But it is not absolutely necessary.
Excellent view. Very comfortable. Very nice and friendly staff. Good location. Nice breakfast. They even prepared a breakfast for us when we had to leave early for our flight home. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Could not think of anything.
Great service and hospitality. Amazing view from The room. Close to the quiet beach.Very clean. It is a very good choice hotel for a holiday.
Great location, view, beach, hikes, nearby shops and restaurants. Great staff. Quiet location. Would book again.
Hands down the worst hotel I have stayed in. I have been travelling for 40plus years
Staff, breakfast, room , no hot water, gates of property are locked at night . Massively overpriced. Additional charges added to booking.com price
Beautiful property up on a hill by itself with stunning views
Heed the warning about stairs. Some rooms require climbing A LOT of them. No restaurant on site, closest restaurant was closed each night I stayed at the hotel but there are takeaway options within driving distance
The view from our room and the location in general were fantastic. The hotel location is a short walk to the beach and a nice restaurant, which we at at every evening. This is a relatively simple and affordable option on an expensive island and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
Loved it. Very relaxed and unpretentious. Awesome views and the staff were all super friendly. Breakfast was very simple. Highly recommend the restaurant just below the hotel.
We stayed in the Honeymoon suite right at the top. So a lot of steps - view made it all worth it though!
An excellent view from the room (even better than in the photos). We highly appreciated the "all-you-can-eat yet almost zero-waste" breakfasts with diverse tropical fruit. When we had full-day trips, the hotel staff gave us food packages. Our room was always well-cleaned. There were not any problems with the water.
A large amount of insects (flies, mosquitos), especially during some evenings when it was difficult to stay on the balcony (this is, of course, location-related). For elderly people, it might be difficult to climb up the steep path to the hotel. Drivers might be surprised on the first day as well.
The view from the balcony is really astounding. And it’s awesome to have a beach right in front of the hotel. Furthermore i think it’s very convenient that Baie Lazare seems to be an ending point for several bus lines which makes travelling by bus easier.
At the time being i was the only guest in the hotel for three nights which was really weird. But the guys from the staff were very friendly and provided me with everything i needed. They even prepared a breakfast for early checkout.
The location was great, our room had a stunning view to sea. The hotel was also beautifully built.
Apart from the amazing views, staff extremely friendly especially Sanji and his colleague who had night duty. They went out of their way to make sure we had all that we needed.
All was ok.
We return to this place again and again. One of the best locations on the island, deserted beautiful safe beach within walking distance, breathtaking views from the balcony, perfectly furnished hotel rooms, incredibly polite and hospitable staff - we really couldn't ask for more. And yes, we will definitely come back here again :)
Absolutely nothing
Very quiet and nice staff, aleays helpfull. We were leaving early morning on our departure day and they prepared breakfast baskets for us. Hotel is a little bit up hill but benefit is the view and quiet. Room was simple, spacious and clean, everything we needed.
There was bothing to dislike
1. The location of the hotel could not have been better. It's a lovely view from the hotel as well as of the hotel from the beach but property faces north and neither Sunset not Sunrise is visible from the hotel. The Sunset is not visible from the beach opposite to the hotel directly over the water but the sunsets down the hill on the far side of the beach is lovely as well. 2. Kitchen is well equipped. 3. The hotel extends the check-out hour, if rooms are available at Euro 5 per hour. As the room we stayed in was not available, we were given a different room for the late check-out when the hotel could have easily refused us that favour. 4. The staff try to do everything to make your stay better.
1. The hotel is located on a hill so there's a lot of walking to be done, up and down the room to the reception then to the beach/restaurant down below by the road. The walk is pleasant in the evenings but not when the Sun is high in the sky and you have your luggage to carry. 2. Which brings me to the second point that the hotel has a policy of 'tip' of SCR 25 per luggage if the hotel staff carries it and the weight of the luggage has to be below 23 kilos for the safety of the staff carrying it. None of this is transparently explained during check-in. So, unless you ask for help with the luggage none will be offered.2. We had booked a 'Superior room' for 2 adults and a 4 year old child and were given a room with twin beds put next to each other. The hotel tried It's best to remedy the situation by offering a 'better' room with a 'prince' sized bed for no extra charge. We eventually stayed in the same superior room with an extra bed put in(for no extra charge)3. The room we stayed in was very close to the 'due-for-fumigation' date. 4. There are no fans in the buffet breakfast area. During the summer months it does get uncomfortable.
Stayed a night and wished we could stay longer. Hotel is on a hilltop and quite a trek. Only for able bodied people as reception is a steep walk up two floors easily. The rooms are another 2 flights up. But the view is everything. Its true island style accommodation with all the necessary amenities including hot water. Fresh breakfast spread with eggs, cold cuts and fruits. Pancakes were incredible and coffee with the view makes for a great start to the day. Lunch and dinner are served in a restaurant called Gaulette. We highly recommend the "Catch of the Day" and the prawn curry with rice is to die for. Charles the attendant at the reception made check-in easy and his service throughout was very prompt. The pictures and reviews do not do the place justice. You have to live there to experience it. The sit out area is comfortable, overlooking the beach and you can sip on local beer Seybrew while taking in the view. Overall the stay was memorable for the extraordinary view of the Lazare beach that is 5 mins walk from the hotel.
There was nothing not to like at all.
