SMART HOTEL

The room was huge, which was clearly over our expectations (indeed, we had a separate room for the kids, wow!). The location is also very good, within walking distance to everything (yet a bit far from the train station). Free luggage storage.

While the room was otherwise clean, the floor was dusty and full of long black hair, and we also found some on the towels. Reception only opens at 3 and upon apointment, which is unpractical.

Nice hotel, clean and very central. The person at the check in was very kind, I booked a double with twin beds, but we found a queen bed. He did his best to accommodate us and in addition gifted us with a breakfast voucher to excuse for the little mistake.

Actually, it is a standard hotel with good location. I found nothing 'smart' in it, it reminded me a kind of dormitory but it is ok for one night in Ferrara. The location is extremely good.

We checked in during Christmas in 2024, and we had a very good experience! Thank you very much for your help. The handsome young man at the front desk is very friendly and professional. We not only had a happy Christmas in Italy, but also left the best impression on the city of Ferrara. We will definitely come here again. Thanks again to all the hotel staff for taking care of us during the festival!

Functional, comfortable, clean, good communication through messages on WhatsApp.

Basic decor, absence of staff at reception in the morning prevented us from leaving our luggage there for a few hours while walking in the area.

Everything was perfect! Both room and bathroom were clean and the mattress was very comfortable! Staff was physically absent, but they sent very clear instructions on how to check in, plus they were always available on WhatsApp, giving us great tips on where to park the car too!

I liked the location of the hotel and the cleanliness and staff are very nice

There is no refrigerator in every room and a washing machine

Really great location, easy to get around to do all the major sightseeing in Ferrara, comfortable and big beds, nice personnel, clean rooms and easy check in and out.

Shower cabinet was tiny and water faucets needs some tidying

Great hotel in the historical center of Ferrara right at the pedestrian street. Huge public parking very near to the hotel. Family room is huge, it's actually like an apartment. On the same floor we hade spacious shared dinning room with refrigerator and sofa. The staff was very helpful with directions and tips.

Water pressure was not very high.

It was easy to follow the instructions left by the property managers on how to get in the building and enter the room. The apartment itself was huge and very comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. The location was top!

Clean, great location.

Looks like a hotel from 90’. Everything is rather old and used. WiFi really unreliable. Most of the time it was hardly working.

Few small issues: Smart Hotel expects that you send photocopy of the ID, just before you arrive. Very useful when you drive. Using only whatsapp for communication. So you have to be smart enough to use this communication channel. You stand in front of the hotel’s door, making passports photos and having fun with the bureaucracy (possible in the superb January rain and cold wind), and fighting with weak internet to send requested photo of ID by application you do not wish to use - otherwise access code to the door is not granted. ;-)). When you try to sleep suddenly appears that hotel got fantastic acoustic - on the second floor you hear very easily all discussions at the ground floor, not mention that you can hear perfectly what is (smart whatsup?) going behind the thin partition walls.Service at the reception (young gentleman sitting from time to time at the reception) calls you "not SMART enough" to book SMART hotel but himself is not ready for proper VAT invoicing, energetically fighting with three lines of the company address, sending invoice’s versions three times. A lot of fun.Perfect hotel for smart people, wishing to come for the weekend, to spend majority of the hotel time in the nearby fantastic pubs and clubs.If my opinion is to short… - apologies.

Location, comfortable bed, quiet room

excellent location, close to a large public (paid) parking lot and in the very center of the old town

The staff was very accommodating for last minute booking! The best nights sleep we had in Italy, anywhere! The beds were extremely comfortable! The location was immersed right in the daily culture and vibe within the city. We enjoyed our time there.

First night we didn't have access to the remote for the AC unit and the TV in the bedroom area didn't work. However, we were plenty exhausted from our travels, so it really didn't bother our sleep plans.

Property was clean and organised, location is very central and it is easy to reach all the major points of interest in Ferrara.

Pricing was slightly high per person considering that breakfast is not provided.

The location was very good (in the historic district of Ferrara and that was wonderful) and it was good value. It was a "smart hotel" so therefore no one at reception (except for one time). The manager was available through Whatsapp and he was very nice when we met him.

The room had very little natural light. No coffee machine available although there was a coffee bar right next door.

Position in a area without traffic, in the old town

It was a hot night and the airco streamed cold air towards the bed. Had to switch it off and endure the heat. Windows had to stay closed because of 4 noisy airco machines outside running all night.
