Pros +
- The hotel was in a small country side village. The environment where the hotel was setup is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and treated us as a family. The food and desserts at the restaurant was very delicious. They had vegan menu.
- The management and the location in the small village and away very quiet area.
- Nice big room for a one night stay with free parking. They allow pets but with extra charges. We reached around midnight so instructions were provided for self checkin which was good.
Cons -
- Breakfast could have been better and since the hotel is next to a road you will hear noises when cars passes. Also not everyone in the staff speaks English
- The beds are small and narrow if you want separate beds not much room to turn around. No coffee maker in the room.
- Although bus connections good - it was 25 mins bus ride to Lucerne (and buses were quite costly). Very disappointed with breakfast selection after other places we’d been to. Lack of visible staff on 1st morning did not bode well. Also located on quite a busy road and could hear traffic from about 5am - and then church behind chimed 6am and then full bells for another 3 minutes every morning!!Had to resort to earplugs.

Overall everything was good. Nice clean room. Nice bathroom. Plenty of parking space behind the hotel.

It was a traditional hotel with breakfast included. Located about 8 miles outside of Lucerne. Good bus connections. Room was really clean and the housekeeping staff were excellent. Bed was comfy and shower was great. We did have a meal in the restaurant one evening during our stay and service and meal were good.

We wanted a traditional Swiss experience and we had it. This Hotel is brilliant and quite spacious. We were offered a lockup garage for the motorbike and in general we felt great! A rainy afternoon spent in the pub downstairs followed by a traditional meal at the restaurant, we couldn’t ask for more after arriving wet and cold. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Good shower, good individual beds, doubles wit a single mattress are not available ?

Not value for money at all.
Very old fashioned basic place. The hotel is situated on the main road near a roundabout and traffic noise starts from 6am. Very very basic breakfast and there were flies around the breakfast area. Didn’t top up any items that had finished.
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable beds
There wasn’t anything to chase mosquitoes. The bed room was full of them. Mosquito screening in front of the windows or mosquito bed nets or electrical devices that chase mosquitoes would have been nice.
Friendly staff
Unfortunately it was really hot and there was no airco. We got a small fan to make it bearable.
The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in a very quiet village in the hills near Luzern. A bit out of the way but the scenery around the area is beautiful. We also had a lovely meal in the restaurant.
It's a little price but that's Switzerland really...
Cheap and best for familes
They charged for fish and fries for 6 plates 180 CHF which was way to expensive please never order food and get from outside
A warm welcome. Staff very helpful found me an adapter plug to charge my phone. Room was large bright and airy and comfortable. Good breakfast.
Food was good but on rather pricey
We were there just for one night during our roadtrip, but this was decent hotel, compared to others in area this was probably the best value for the money.
Little bit oldschool - Not necessary something bad, but maybe not exactly my style :)
Bad
very very bad hotel1-full of mosquitoes ? 2-very warm rooms3- very poor breakfast with no variety at all4-very expensive room prices5-very bad location just near the church where you can hear the bell ringing all the time. Can't sleep at all6- rude staff7-ordinary rooms
Nice old world Swiss hotel, lots of character. Friendly attentive staff. Restaurant food was very good, if a little pricey. Good breakfast. Easy off road parking.
The hotel is by a busy roundabout, it has good double-glazing but we were woken by loud vehicles late at night and early in the morning. Best to pack some ear plugs.
Helpful staff, bright and comfortable room. Garage room for cycles.
No negatives.
Well placed with good connections to Luzern.Spacious roomsPrice is reasonable for Switzerland even if expensive for what you get
There is not a single standard European power outlet.Food is quite expensive and definitely too simple.Breakfast is basic and there are flies everywhere
A lovely hotel, very friendly staff and our room had a balcony which was an added bonus. The meals in the restaurant were very good and the bus service into Lucerne was always on time.
The breakfast could have been better.
The location was perfect for us to get around all the sights. Really central. The room cleaning was top notch.
The room right above facing the restaurant side can get a bit noisy. There's no dedicated reception staff, so if you need anything, need to bug someone from restaurant staff considering if they are not busy. The price to value ratio is a bit off overall at this place including the restaurant... it's not cheap considering for the fairly average meal they serving...but I think that's for Switzerland in general.
We booked 2 doubles and a single over 4 nights. We picked the location to better visit various sights. The comments about the church bells are true- they start at 6 AM and end at 10 PM. The location is on a busy route with traffic noise. The staff was super friendly to our English-speaking group as they serve double duty in the restaurant. Rooms lack security safes, and the common areas are worn. The restaurant was superb and very convenient over several meals!
Mosquitos were a problem that really should be corrected in each of our 3 rooms.
