    Pros +

    • Charming building with a nice Orangerie as restaurant. The lady at the reception came up to the room to explain how everything works. The bed was comfortable we liked the free standing bathtub. Breakfast was nice. It's quite close by car to Aix en Provence
    • Very cozy atmosphereVery nice loungeNice staffAmazing restaurant
    • Beautiful place in a beautiful area! The vibe it gives it’s fantastic. The whole place has been renovated with a tasteful design, especially in the restaurant and the common areas. Our room was also very cosy and well decorated. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Location was also quite convenient: quiet but not too far from the city

    Cons -

    • I have trouble walking but forgot to state that in the booking so we got a second floor with no lift and I struggle with the stairs. Parking is also difficult as the restaurant is also open to non hotel guests.
    • Not enough sockets in the roomToilet seat too high for kidsShower doors too narrow
    • Nothing specific

    Atmosphere, location.

Bit hard to move luggage around and no lift.

    10HelenPosted on: 10-14-2025

Beautiful quiet setting 10-15 mins out of Aix. Excellent parking, but also easily served by Uber from Aix. Wonderful large room and facilities. Loved the garden and outdoor areas. Beautiful restaurant.

While we were aware the restaurant was not open Sunday evenings, we did not realise that it would mean no bar service or snacks at all for in house guests. Luckily we had our own food that we could eat

I love this place, it’s the second time we’ve stayed here. Surrounded by nature, charming hotel with a lovely restaurant, garden and pool

I’ve avoided the breakfast this time because last stay was very poor. This time I’ve just checked around the breakfast area and I’ve seen some improvement (finally they put some scrambled eggs…) but in my opinion is still a bit poor

    8OlgaPosted on: 9-18-2025

A quiet, pleasant place near the city center, with well-kept and charming hotel grounds and a good restaurant

The unpleasant smell from the bathroom was a bit off-putting

    9MarkusPosted on: 9-5-2025

Beautiful country-side location, yet only 15 minutes drive to Aix. Nice restaurant terrace under trees.

Great common areas such as an outdoor with a pool, lounge, dining orangerie with music etc.

Our room required some TLC and maintenance, it was pretty noisy, the sounds from upstairs seemed like heavy furniture were moved around or similar

Restaurant breakfast staff ambiance - all lovely

Our room ( no 1) seriously needed renovating. The toilet was not securely fastened to the wall & the flush didn’t work very well. The bathroom especially needs an upgrade. I had no problem with the size although it was only just big enough. I understand that not everyone likes the music but I loved it- & thought the music made the hotel. As it was full every evening I’m assuming that I'm with the majority.

We wish we could have ate there but we had plans. The room had AC and was large.

I wish we had hot water kettle in the room.

Brilliant location, great vibe, great bar, pool and food!!

    1ChrisPosted on: 8-12-2025

I can’t think of anything we liked. We left after one night even though I pre-paid for two nights.

Poky, dark, tiny, tiny bedroom. No room to even open a suitcase. “Music” - everywhere and all the while. Trance “music” while you are having your dinner? A first for us and not an experience we don’t want to repeat.

Nice room on ground floor as requested

Constant invasion by ants in the room. No direct service other than in the outside dining and relaxing area, which was down some steep and uneven steps (difficult for my wife, and the reason why we had requested a ground floor room).

    9AnnaPosted on: 8-2-2025

Situated in the ideal Provence landscape this is a perfect hideaway with a beautiful garden to have a delicious and relaxed dinner. We had the best room with private&intimate terrace facing the backyard

    9LunaPosted on: 7-21-2025

Very pleasant stay. The hotel is lovely staff is supper supportive. Definitely will come back again

The breakfast quite simple. Good if they have more options but quite minor thing.

    1InarPosted on: 7-19-2025

    The setting, greenery.

Bathroom was dirty, floor in my room was dirty. There was someone elses rubbish still in the room. The room smelled like mold and mildew. We had dinner at the restaurant- food was not great for such a high price. The breakfast was also not great- the smoked Salmon was extremely fishy and made me sick the next day- it was expired?Such a shame that the standard is so low, for such a lovely property. There is alot of potential for it to be great and more upmarket. Sadly it was the worst of all accomodation we booked on a 3 week trip from New Zealand.

Domaine Gaogaia is an incredibly nice property. It is clean and the breakfast is very good. There are plenty of good options for the breakfast. The pool is also great.

The location is a little bit far out from the city center. We were able to get ubers, but they are not cheap. Bolts repeatedly canceled on us.Our only real complaint was the restaurant. The restaurant has a good, but had a very small menu. That same menu is offered for both lunch and dinner. There is a larger menu offered for the "After Work" menu with many other options, but it was not available to order from in the dining area.

The location and facilities were very good

I would not normally respond to survey but feel I need to comment on this hotel. The location and facilities were great but we found the staff were not attentive and in one particular case arrogant and dismissive. (Waiter/maitre d in lower bar area with dark hair and tattoos on his neck). His approach was unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive when we tried to order a drink in the grass area which was apparently reserved for DJ Monday (even though we were reserved for dinner). The domaine is difficult to navigate as is also open to the public (with more public than residents) and seem to have priority over the residents which seems a bit bizarre but being polite to customers should be a minimum.

    9SophiaPosted on: 6-26-2025

Loved how spacious the room was and how picturesque the hotel was. It felt like they had kept the beauty of an old chateau and renovated it perfectly. Very comfy bed!

    Pool area could be updated.
