Hôtel Escaletto

The roof top area was great for sunset. The room was average good and clean.

The place was next to impossible to find and no parking near it. Closed off streets made it very difficult to find. The poor accessibility is a deal breaker for me. I will not come back, too bad.

The room could have been a bit warmer. There was a delay returning my room deposit, but the staff rectified the problem quickly once I let them know.

we stayed for 3 nights at the Escaletto. The room was comfortable and clean. The room was cold when we arrived and it took quite a while for the heating to get it to a reasonable temperature. The facilities were good, although no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of hot and cold buffet foods. Staff were friendly and efficient. Once the pedestrianisation works on Sextus the environs will be nicer.

We booked parking but when we got there they said it was full so we had to park 20 mins walk away.

Road and pavement is up outside the property currently. They told me just after I was no longer able to cancel my room although I understand this has been an issue since November. Made getting to and from the hotel unpleasant and I would have chosen somewhere different if I had known. TV not working in my room either

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were so friendly and always ready to help, which made everything feel easy and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, with high-quality products from local producers – truly a treat! The location is perfect, just a short walk to the city center. Would definitely stay here again!

Very helpful staff, well-decorated and clean room, and good location. They were very accommodating when we needed help with luggage and making accommodations while traveling with a baby.

Only downside is that the room was small and a bit awkwardly laid out. There were two doors to get into the room to cut down on noise from the hallway, which made it awkward to get into the room with a stroller.

Everything was great, especially the rooftop. Great wifi, central location and easy check in.

Big problem getting to the hotel because of major road construction and road closures. It took us over an hour just to find our way and park. The hotel should have contacted us and offered a route plan..

The location was great, the staff very friendly, the hotel was very clean. Loved the shutters that totally shut out light which made sleeping in very easy. Just wished there was the opportunity to make drinks in the room. Only a small point as tea and coffee were available downstairs.

The air conditioning made a loud noise around the clock. A restful sleep was only possible with earplugs. I complained about this, but it wasn't fixed. The bathroom ventilation didn't work properly. The room decor was poor. The breakfast was average.

A 5 night stay. Roadworks outside very noisy from very early in the morning. A charge for teabags???? Never have l had to pay for teabags at a hotel. Initially tried to charge me 18 euro for 4 teabags but got it down to 8 euro. Left a very sour taste in my mouth.

The very noisy roadworks out the front of the hotel which started at 6.40am, no heads up about the works, no apology, no suggestion to move to the back of the hotel away from the noise, no price reduction, the staff couldn’t have cared less. Beds uncomfortable, complimentary 1 bottle of water was only given day 1 & day 4 of a 5 day stay, happy hour we were charged full price, our friends were charged €18 for 4 teabags (only coffee in the rooms) negotiated down to €8 but given they did not receive any water during their stay, ridiculous to be charged at all! Won’t go back or recommend to others!!!!!

Well-located hotel, just outside the pedestrianised part of the old town, with exceptional staff - at reception, kitchen and housekeeping, all are helpful, welcoming and professional. They all spoke good English but were prepared to be patient as I practiced my French! Room was comfortable and kept super clean. No fridge in the room but there was chilled water available at reception, which kept our water bottles replenished for our stay. If I return to Aix I will stay here again.

Fabulously clean. Lovely staff. Really great hotel, we forgot to book to park and the team were so helpful finding alternative spaces.

Some construction outside but that will be temporary and with the great shutters we didn’t hear anything
