About

- I was genuinely surprised by this castle — in the best possible way. It’s not only stunning from the outside, but the interior is even more impressive. There are several beautifully decorated salons where you can relax, enjoy a drink, or have a meal, each with its own unique charm.A big plus for me was how convenient and welcoming it was to stay here with my pet. The staff made everything easy, and the surroundings were perfect for walking and exploring.Overall, a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this castle for anyone looking for something special — especially if you're traveling with a pet.
- It was amazing . We will never forget. The castle well detailed . Like a 5 star hotel in a castle .
Cons -
- difficult to find if driving with gps. ignore gps once off the autovia. Grounds and otdoor furniture could be better kept. Decor, bed and bathroom linens need upgrade. No robes or slippers provided. Let down for experience. Upgrades needed everywhere
- The only thing i can think of is i had to carry my suitcase up a flight of stairs . Only one flight.

This was a experience of a lifetime . A real castle with much attention to detail. It was awesome. I never expected to be so good. We where there in late November and I thought it would be in the castle but it was very warm and comfortable. If you are considering a castle stay ,this is my recommendation.
I can not think of anything
A nice distance from Salamanca and only 2 kilometers off the via de la plata Camino. Felt like a princess in our large room overlooking the courtyard. They were also accommodating with our vegan food preferences.
All the staff were great, friendly and helpful. The hotel has nice thick walls so has a great, even temperature. The food options were very good and the hotel made us a lovely picnic breakfast as we had to leave at 6am.It's far off the motorway so it's very peaceful. They do offer a lot of activities if you have a longer stay.We will return and we would recommend.Overall, a definite 10/10!
It is a very cool place with a lot of history
Wifi did not work. Normally this does not bother me as I will use 4/5G but with the 2.5 meter thick walls, that could not penetrate either. In a way this is part of the charm of the property
Everything! It’s a Medieval castle very well preserved and beautiful
The pillows need an upgrade in my opinion
Staff was very diligent, professional, knowledgable, and nice. The food was excellent and not very expensive.
Sometimes the family reunions brought little kids who were very noisy, but other than that everything was quiet. The castle is very old, of course, and that's why it is so charming. So don't expect super modern furniture. The beds were ok, but the pillows weren't very confortable. Keep in mind that there aren't any elevators and lots of stairs to get to any room.
We have stayed here before and it did not disappoint on our second visit. It is in a wonderful location within easy reach of Salamanca. Very relaxing ambience steeped in history.
What can you say, a lovely setting for a remarkable evening. We only spent one night but wished we had the time to spend more time there.
We were in a dungeon room so phone reception & wi-fi was unavailable in the room. It was available away from the dungeon rooms so it was not too much of an issue.
Really a spectacular property, surrounded by vineyards and pastures, gorgeous vistas. The castle tour was such fun, loved being surprised with each of the rooms and the thoughtful decor. Efficient and pleasant staff, easy check-in and out. Tons of parking, extensive and delicious choices available at breakfast. The Syrah bottled under their label was divine!
WiFi wasn’t great, but who could expect that with the stone walls!?
It's a castle!!!! They have a maze too which is a lot of fun
Although very in the mood of a castle, the pictures on the walls could be a bit less gruesome.
Beautiful castle and the nature around. Very clean and friendly staff.
Nothing to mention
Staying in a real castle was a truly unique and memorable experience—beautifully decorated spaces and a charming medieval atmosphere made both the bedroom and common areas feel special. The food was really good, and breakfast offered a nice variety. The bedroom was also quite comfortable.
The experience was let down by some operational issues. The restaurant and breakfast staff were not particularly welcoming, and service seemed affected by under-staffing — several essentials like cups, juice, and silverware ran out during breakfast. The lack of internet due to a Wi-Fi issue was a major downside, especially given there’s no mobile reception in the rooms. The TV and internet setup felt quite outdated, and the AC unit was louder than expected
We loved everything, both the castle as the exterior, all is renovated with lots of care and details. We had a great meal, with excellent wine! Our bed was heaven. We loved everything, and our dog did too!
Spectacular setting. Amazing surroundings. Friendly staff and food was excellent. Only issue was Wi-Fi not working in the room, but a minor inconvenience when weighed against staying in a castle with history in every nook and cranny of the property.
Excellent resteraunt and wines from the Castillo estate. Friendly staff and great value for money
The place is amazing, the room was fantastic with the best shower we’ve ever experienced. The only disappointment was the Restaurant, dinner where the presentation exceeded the flavour by a big factor. Breakfast was okay. Overall well worth a visit and pretty good value.
Attentive staff. Great meals and bar. Excellent bed. Great communication. Nice splurge while walking the Via de la Plata.
