The Shared bathroom, but we knew it ahead of time
Honestly nothing.
NO AC, unfriendly and rude hotel staff. Extremely dirty bathroom. Left at 1am the hotel was so gross.
The location of this hostel was excellent—situated just outside the train station, it made getting around the surrounding area extremely easy. It was even convenient enough for me to stop in and use the facilities during a quick transfer wait. The property is also only a few steps from the main attraction center, which made sightseeing simple and stress-free.
The strongest selling point of this hotel is its location—it’s perfectly situated and makes exploring the area very easy. That said, there are several areas that could use improvement. If you’re traveling with large luggage, I recommend requesting a room on the first floor, as there is no lift and carrying bags up several flights of stairs can be challenging. I stayed in a one-bedroom on the third floor with its own shower and toilet. The bed was noticeably worn, with a slant where people usually sleep, making it uncomfortable and giving the feeling of sliding to one side. The washroom door was also broken—the screws were loose, so I had to lift it slightly to open or close it.A small fridge in the room would have been a welcome addition, especially in the summer heat, to keep drinks cold. With some updates to the furnishings and basic amenities, this hotel could offer a much more comfortable stay while continuing to capitalize on its excellent location.
I liked the convenience and, effort of the staff to help and keep the place clean. It was a basic, no-frills place which was all I needed.
Location was feet from the train station. We arrived very late and needed a place close.
No air conditioner. Very loud. Old furniture. I thought the shutters was going to fall off the window if I opened it. Staff tried to upsell me into a room with a private bath. No elevator, and I was placed on the 4th floor with multiple heavy bags. I would never stay there again.
The staff was really nice and supportive (they have a telephone and online message 24h to help you), and everything was really clean. The hot water in the shower was perfect, and the bathroom was really clean. Amazingly close to the train station (2min) and the center of La Spezia town where the restaurant and shops are (5min), also near different coffee places, a focaccia place and a local shop (less than a minute). The views on the 5th floor balcony are so cool.
The bed and pillow were uncomfortable and the first night I didn't have a heater and it was cold (but they fixed that the moment I said it), the shower head from the room needs a change (also the pressure of the water in the shower was a bit weak). I brought a nice dessert from my trip to Cinque terre and I had some biscuits in my bag, and when I woke up in the morning, some ants were on them... And it's a hotel with 5 floors and no elevator, it's okay but I didn't know and it may be a little annoying or not good for some people.
Super close to the main La Spezia train station. Property is literally across the road, down the steps from station. Location cannot get any better. Property also very close to amenities and shops and restaurants only a few minutes away. Nice breakfast restaurant right next door to location. Nice friendly staff.
Property has no lift and climbing so many stairs with luggage might be challenging for some people. I stayed on the 3rd floor.Bathroom shower door didn't close and needed repair however I managed to shower ok without splashing any water outside. Bathroom could have been scrubbed a bit cleaner. Some surfaces felt a bit old and unclean. Property is generally rather old and decor old too. However the price is cheap.
I actually liked the hotel a lot, I really liked the bed and the room! Had a balcony which is such a +! Nice view and a chill room to myself! The staff was very polite and the location of the hotel is great, especially if you’re visiting Cinque Terra by train!
Close to railway station and cheap
Got upset when we came back to collect our bags and used the toilet before leaving, after staying two days.Shared bathroom.
Location only.. 3 mins to station and a few mins to restaurants. Friendly reception.
Really uncomfortable bed with springs digging into you. Dirty , broken stuff (lights / shower hose) no a/c . No lift . So so NOISY ! Do not expect to sleep here. Avoid . Worst hotel and most expensive of all of our trip . Regret choosing this one .
Just down the stairs from the train station. The chap at reception carried our bags up to the 5th floor. A few good restaurants within a 15 minute walk. About an hour to walk to the water.
Unfortunately not the cleanest place. There was a fan but it did nothing. No lift. You could not consider this place if you were in a wheel chair. The place smelt like people were cooking Indian food in their rooms so it permeated out into the corridors. People sat on the balcony near the corridor smoking at night. It was noisy. The bathroom was pretty dirty. The shower curtain was very gross and had about 50 years of urine on it. The place just needs a good bleaching. I am ok with old as long as it is clean. Could not say I felt the safest in this area near the train station, even though it was convenient. Not the view that we seen online.
It was very close to the train station.Great value for money. The staff were helpful. It was hot. We had a fan in the room. We asked for a lower floor room & was given one.
The Pillows are very flat & you only get one.Although we asked & got given a second pillow. The shower needs a revamp as looked a bit grubby .People may find it noisy as opposite train station. Our room faced the station , there are rooms on the opposite side. I took earplugs, so didn’t bother us.
Close to train station
Very dirty, no lift, there was a bit of drama with the booking. The fellow said we only had 1 booking but we had two.
The location is very nice that is just a 2-minute walk from the stairs then arrive at the train station.
I live in a single room, and the room is old. There is a sink next to the bed, for me it is weird but it's ok if just for sleeping
Location.
Everything from its toilet facility to inside of room. The fan isn't working. Everything is so run down. The water pressure on 2nd floor is tickling. I have stayed in hostels which has better and running facility than this.
The location is good.
It’s extremely dirty! The furniture in the room is so antiquated, no AC, they gave me a room on the last floor (5th) with NO elevator! Extremely expensive for what it offers which is basically nothing but a mattress. Toilets were dirty, not even soap. Worst hostel I’ve stayed to ever.
The location is perfect, just 3 min from the train station. Frederica was very helpful and friendly. Very clean.
For a night or 2 is good and also, if you are alone, even better. If you are looking for a lush place, this hotel is definitely not for you. Very simple, no air conditioning. The neighbourhood is very noisy; I don't have a problem with this, but it is important to mention for those who can't sleep in this kind of environment.
Very good location. Close to the station, easy access to central and port. I could leave baggage at the reception next day during sight seeing.
No AC in the room. It's very hot in summer.
Location was great near the train station and a few minutes work into the town centre
There was no aircon so we had to sleep with the window open and a little fan next to the window in 32 degree heat. As the window was open all you could here were people outside all night yelling and screaming so didn’t get a great night sleep
