Second time staying here...my two nieces visiting Spain joined us. Was perfect in every way! All of our rooms were spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated...with amazing views! Enjoyed dinner at the town Restaurant and a picturesque walk. All staff that we encountered were courteous and helpful as well. *Don't miss a visit to the rooftop of the castle for incredible pics of surrounding landscapes stretching out to Gibraltar on the coast! Thank you again ---Nancy Rosario
We loved everything about our stay: dinner was delicious and they accommodated my food allergies well; our room was beautiful and very comfortable; the staff were kind and helpful; and the castle was breathtaking! Bonus was the beautiful area surrounding the castle and a short scenic walk on an historic path to the lake.
Everything wonderful!
Beautiful place to visit, large rooms, clean hotel.

The location and the privilege of staying in a castle . Outstanding views , tranquil and the history of the place .
We enjoyed our stay very much, the views are normally terrific but this time the weather was bad. Of course not the fault of the hotel.
The walk from the car to the Hotel. :)
Beautiful place but the staff does not speak English at all. And no signs to where reception is located. And parking is on street.
The hotel is actually a renovated 11 century castle, with preserved castle rooms - castle windows, balconies, high ceilings. You sleep in a real castle, it's so romantic and really rare. The price for a night is 1/10 of a price for a night in a Scottish castle. The room was very clean and the views of the lake and the valley from the windows were incredible. We had dinner in the restaurant 1 min walk from the castle, the price is not cheap but the food is good.We were with a teen girl, ordered a Superior room and asked to add a bed.
Stunning location on the top of the hill. Beautiful views from the window, nesting swifts all around.
Breakfast wasn’t very good at all. Very basic pre-packed baking, no fruit. But it made up for it in the architecture and location.
It is cool to say that you stayed in a castle. The drive up to the castle is wonderful and the views from the rooms asre great.
Once you enter the castle you don't have any sense or feeling like you are in a castle, but instead you are in a regular hotel. The rooms were very cold. Our beeding had some small stains, we looked under the bed to check if we'd dropped anything or left anything behind and it didn't seem like it had ever been swept or dusted. There is not clear signage about where to *not drive* so our family and one that came shortly after us both drive up the wrong path and needed to precariously back down a narrow cobblestone street.
The situation on this hotel, part of a medival castle in a small hilltop village, is simply stunning. The views from the top are just incredible. Within the curtain walls of the castle is a small village in which some of the houses have been converted into self catering units which I believe are run by the hotel too. There is also an associated restaurant where we ate in the evening which was very good. Our room was very comfortable, we chose the one with the terrace at the top of the watchtower and while the room itself did not really have a fabulous view, it was more than made up for by the stunning roof top terrace. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom spacious.
The only slight niggle, barely worth a mention, was that the separate hotel restaurant in the village did not have a coffee machine and we had to return to the hotel bar for an after dinner coffee… it really was not a problem but was perhaps a bit odd! I am struggling to find fault really!
Everyone should sleep in a Castle at least once in their life. Wish we could have stayed another night to enjoy the solitude and appreciate the location.
Prepare for the road in, take your time on the road curves, it is worth it.
Delicious breakfast, nice variety, well worth the money. Authentically restored castle. Staff were very accommodating when we had to change our room. Overall delightful experience.
Even though there was an elevator, it only went from the lobby to the 1 floor rooms. We originally had an incredible deluxe tower room with access to the top, but because of my mobility issues I could not manage the multiple stairs . Even to get from parking to the lobby was a very steep walk. This is only a problem for some with mobility issues.
It´s a special place to stay. Winding road to the castle and amazing 360 views to accompany in the morning. Cute little castle streets and very peaceful.
We seemed like the only guests at the castle, so it felt a bit deserted.
The castle is gorgeous. The peaceful location makes you feel recharged. The chocolate croissant at breakfast was fantastic. The staff were very nice. Walking around the castle was idyllic.
The shower was not good. It leaked on the bathroom floor. It was a 'wand' which did not stay properly in the holder. We had two rooms. The second room had a bathtub which was much better.
A lovely hotel, in a tremendous location, within a historic castle and pretty village, with views stretching miles in all directions. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a great hotel resturant just 75m from reception (we had the Iberian black pork - very tasty). Strongly recommended.
very unique opportunity to stay in a castle with all the modern comforts. food in the restaurant 1 min walk away was delicious and very reasonably priced.
The young gentleman in Reception was extremely helpful. The breakfast was acceptable but a little hard to manage the steps with self service food for some people. The bedroom was superb, the very best. The restaurant was very good with well cooked menu.
The lack of signage driving or walking up to the hotel meant that several guests have to ask the way.
