About

Discover the luxury of the Maristel Hotel, in the mountains of northern Majorca only 0.6 mi from beautiful Cala de Estellencs beach. Take advantage of the open air swimming pool, or relax on a sun lounger on the terrace. Inside the hotel, the covered pool is just part of the Maristel’s spa facilities. There are extra charges for using the spa, which also includes a hot tub, sauna and Turkish bath. Some rooms have balconies with views of the mountains or the coast. Both local and international foods are available for breakfast and dinner. Meals are served in the peaceful setting of the terrace restaurant, with mountain and sea views. Take time to walk in the beautiful Tramuntana mountains or enjoy the local beaches. The nearby towns of Valldemossa and Andratx are well worth visiting, and the capital Palma is 20 mi from the hotel.

    Pros +

    • I got in late and the restaurant was about to close but the staff was so friendly and made sure I got something to eat. Loved my balcony view, perfect place to watch the sunset.
    • warm and nice welcoming at the front desk, good and local cuisine which i like to discover. big bed for one person :) :) clean and nice pool area.
    • The bed was very comfortable

    Cons -

    • My only complaint is the front desk staff ignored me when I arrived and barely greeted me, I waited a while to be checked in even though I was the only person there. It wasn't a good first impression.
    • The photos on the website don't match. The view from the window wasn't as nice. It was noisy.. The sauna was too dark. The way to the coast was much longer than estimated.
    • We didn’t have a balcony so it was nearly impossible to dry our beach towels and swimsuits (French balcony was too small to fit everything and things didn’t dry out during the night). The bedsheets and towels were changed only after 4 or 5 days when I asked at the reception.

Beautiful hotel, great grounds, amazing views & restaurant. Really liked the spa and massage! I had a tiny room as a solo traveler but had everything it needed, very nice bathroom and even a great view!

Great breakfast - a big variety of food of a great quality. comfortable bed.

The breakfast was quite literally the only perk of staying here

If you’re thinking of booking this “luxury” hotel, do yourself a favor and don’t bother clicking the queen bed option (it’s basically a decorative button on their website). I requested one, and not only did they not provide it, but their grand solution was to shove two twin beds together with a mattress topper. Except… plot twist… they didn’t even bother to do that the first night. After complaining, we were promised it would be handled the second night. Spoiler: still didn’t happen. When we asked for a partial refund for two nights in a row of not getting the bed type we paid for, the staff doubled down by being extremely rude about it. Honestly, the attitude alone was worse than the lumpy twin-bed shuffle.Vastly overpriced, laughably mismanaged, and in no universe deserving of the “luxury” label. Stay literally anywhere else.

Everything was great! The hotel is in a perfect and quiet location, ideal for relaxation and enjoying the surroundings. The view from the terrace at sunset is stunning – a truly romantic spot. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a good variety and tasty options. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the pool was clean and well maintained. There are also several restaurants nearby. The hotel is a perfect base for exploring the northern part of the island, and we would definitely come back!

Spacious room and balcony, great location for the GR221. The waiter is the restaurant is very friendly!

Our room was missing a curtain. There was light shining through the room all night.

Our Mum and Dad stayed here 60 years ago on their honeymoon. My sister and I have come on a nostalgic visit. This hotel and surrounding area did not disappoint

Room was absolutely fine although not huge amounts of character. Pool area would be lovely in the summer. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Didn't use the spa, although it looked good.

    Nothing really

Accommodation was lovely. Restaurant not so much - it promised lots, but the food wasn't great, neither was the service.

    10SaraPosted on: 3-9-2025

Good location on GR221. Friendly and helpful staff. Food, breakfast and dinner both of excellent quality. Lovely spa area.

Quite a large hotel, so was less intimate. But didn’t detract from the stay.

Nice hotel that was very well set up for cyclists and had a great breakfast

The AC was not working in our room

    9CarolinePosted on: 1-29-2025

A lovely spacious room in the block of the hotel on the lower side of the road. Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking down to the sea - so peaceful. A great village to stay in with good walking locally and bus connections. Very friendly and helpful woman on reception.

The set meal wasn't great for vegetarians - they need to buy a vegetarian cookery book!

    7SimaPosted on: 12-15-2024

Location was nice. Room was big.

Some (not all) staff were rude. Outdoor jet pool not working and dirty.

    5StephaniePosted on: 12-9-2024

The staff were very friendly and welcoming; there is a nice shop and a nice bar which does good food a short walk away. The walk down to the beach is nice too, with lovely views and fresh air (but quite steep on the way back!)We had a sea-view suite and the room was spacious and the view from the large terrace was beautiful. The furniture and the bathroom was quite dated, but nothing too bad. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was quiet through the night and morning, so we slept very well! The breakfast was great - especially the fresh pastries!

It wasn’t clear that the “spa” and indoor pool were not included facilites - you have to pay an additional €15 per person to use them, even if you have paid for an upgraded room… we were surprised to learn this a few days before our stay, and it overshadowed our excitement about our upcoming stay. As it is winter, and a big draw for us was to be able to swim, we paid the additional cost, however it wasn’t worth it. In the “spa”, the floor was extremely wet with filthy water, the pool water wasn’t clean, and it was very cold… it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all, which was a let down.

We enjoyed everything. Very friendly stuff and quiet place. Perfect getaway with stunning sea views. This hotel is an absolute gem! It’s located in a cozy and peaceful area with breathtaking views of the sea, making it the perfect place for relaxation and solitude. Even in winter, the wellness facilities were accessible, which was a huge plus. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. There’s even a charming outdoor toilet near the open-air pools and a beautiful orange tree nearby, adding a unique touch to the atmosphere.Breakfast was delightful, with fresh orange juice served every morning, and it was included in the stay. This place is ideal for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a serene escape. Highly recommended!
