Pros +
- The location was quite central. The bus stop is right across the street. The staff did not know much English but were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the AC was really good. The breakfast had the basic and necessary food that one would like to have. It's a budget hotel, so don't have high expectations.
- Good location, friendly front desk, clean. Overall, good value.
- Poor
Cons -
- The beds are ok for a couple of nights but not that comfortable. The toilet can be small, especially for men. It's a small room overall, but we didn't mind it. The parking is a tight place and getting in or out can be a little bit challenging. They also have a parking spot in the alley across from the hotel. It's much easier parking there than in the courtyard.
- Not Recommended: A Disappointing Stay at Hotel Assarotti, GenoaI regret to say that I cannot recommend Hotel Assarotti in Genoa. The hotel is overpriced for the quality and conditions it offers. While the rooms were renovated, cleanliness was a major issue. The blanket provided for our stay was covered in hair from previous guests, and it looked like it hadn’t been washed in a long time. The area around the hotel is very noisy, being located near a busy street, which made it difficult to rest. Moreover, the staff, particularly the manager and the housekeeping woman, were extremely loud and intrusive. From the moment we arrived, we were bothered by their attitude. For example, when my wife glanced out to see where we would have breakfast, the housekeeper aggressively questioned her about what she was looking at. This was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. The breakfast was a joke – often running low on food, with a small amount of omelet, cheap cheese, a few croissants, and yogurt. There were no fruits, vegetables, or any variety to speak of.We had originally booked five nights, but we decided to leave a day earlier because we couldn’t sleep due to the noise, as our room was located right next to the reception. With a 2-year-old child, we had to listen to the endless conversations of the staff. The only positives were the night shift worker, a very friendly Tunisian guy, and another friendly staff member during the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff, mainly the women, were rude and had an arrogant attitude.Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and we won’t be returning.
- The initial welcome and the receptionist woman was not polite and she didn't speak a word of English. Moreover the bed was not good and the room was very small with no elevator.

Within walking distance of the city centre but located in a fairly quiet area. Friendly staff, good breakfast and coffee. Room was clean, bed was comfortable but could use a firmer matress.
They were actually upfront about their parking situation where they expect their guests leave their car keys at the hotel, and where the cars are parked by hotel staff. The photos of the parking area are somewhat misleading making you think that the parking area is larger than it actually is.
Every thing as required. Clean, comfortable, good shower.
Convenient and clean Hotel. However, I would have expected more with the price paid. For example, the breakfast was far from impressive. You can find a better price quality ratio in Genoa.
Breakfast, no elevator
Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Room was sufficient.
Parking is extremely limited
Great location, the room was nice and clean, kind staff but they're not speaking english. The food selection for breakfast was a bit poor beacuse one person is working as the recepcionist and bartender but all in all it was a pleasant experience.
Well, unfortunately I was quite disappointed ? I chose this hotel because of the location and the reviews. I liked the fact that there was a parking space, anyway..
We were so disappointed of the checking out in the morning! I love Italy and I was so happy to come back there! We checked in late at night because we came by car and the traffic was heavy. But we had to check out quite early in the morning 10.30 am. I have been to lots of hotels so far and we have been literally chased out of the hotel at 11 am. Nobody took in consideration that we traveled with a kid and we overslept! From 9 am ,there was a noise in the corridor. I totally agree that there are checking in and checking out hours but we haven't had this problem in any of the hotels we stayed so far..or private hosts as well! For the price I paid they could have made an exception for 30 min! And our car was parked outside because the parking was "so busy " according to them that was empty..Anyway, we won't be back there for sure..neither to the city though.
Exactly what we needed, very friendly staff, noting fancy but very clean and reasonable.
It was okay.
Parking lot outside for handicapped was not available because of always the same car was there , I guess it was for the one who lives there 8n the neighborhood. Also the Parking lot was supposed to be for the hotel guest but it's a truck who've been parking there for 2 days since we arrived.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Parking and breakfast. Absolutely nothing nutritional. Only sweet pastry for breakfast. No good
The room - very spacious clean and modern. The coffee in the morning.
We were told parking -10 euro/night and were charged 16 for some reason The parking was actually the front of the hotel, limited space very narrow and were asked to leave the car key at reception in case there is a fire. That was disappointing.
Very kind crewVery pleasant location and very clean
The only difficulty is the parking place : if you don't book, you will meet difficulties to park you car near the hotel !
Location was perfect
The electricity was cut every 30 minutes which lasts about 2 seconds but the problem was wifi
Good location close to the city center. Clean and comfortable room. Decent breakfast.
If you want to use hotel parking be ready to give the keys away and trust staff with rearranging your car position when somebody is leaving. Probably the best solution considering lack of parking places around hotel. No elevator in the hotel.
nice breakfast, clean rooms
no sun entering our room - the window was opening to a closed interior spacevery simple and not diversified breakfast
Beautiful, modern, extra clean, confortable room!Great breakfast!Parking space in hotel's yard!Kind and heplfull staff!Great lokation- in the center of the beautiful Genoa, walking distance to all important and historic places to see ( The Garibaldi street with Palaces Roso and Bianco, churches, Colombo house, Oriental garden and museum, harbour). The best hotel with very good price in the hart of Genoa! All the recomendation!
