    Pros +

    • This hotel was within walking distance to most of the sites and attractions of Genoa. However, what was better than this was the staff. They were, by far, some of the nicest and most helpful people I¿ve met in Italy. They went above and beyond!
    • Good location, about a 10–15 minute walk to most sights in Genova. We had a beautiful room with a balcony and a very comfortable bed. Public parking was just a two-minute walk away, which was very convenient.
    • Great location, very clean, polite staff.

    Cons -

    • I did not like the size of the VERY tiny shower, but I could deal with it for 4 days given all the benefits of this hotel.
    • Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi did not work during our stay, and despite repeated requests to the hotel staff, it was not fixed. The air conditioner was also not functioning, which made the room uncomfortably hot. In addition, the water pressure in the bathroom was quite low.
    • The bed was 2 mattresses put together ( a twin and a double). You could feel a dip where they met which was really uncomfortable.

The location was very central and walking distance to so much. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We liked the city so much the we added an extra night and the second room didn’t have a coffee maker or fridge like the first one.

We didn't like anything we checked out before We even checked in the elevator was creepy. The place was run down. Thing that we did like was the wonderful woman at the front desk. She was so sweet

We just didn't like anything so we left the parking lot was horrible

Communication with Hotel Genova was excellent. My room and bathroom were very clean. I loved the location; near stores, restaurants, and walking distance to the train station. As a solo traveler, it felt like a safe area, during the day, as well as at night. The staff were excellent; and went out of their way at the reception desk, to help with restaurant recommendations, as well as with printing an airline check-in pass. The lift was always a big convenience with my heavy luggage, which they held before I could check-in. The only thing I missed was a coffee machine or tea kettle in my 3rd floor room, but they allowed me take a coffee on 2nd floor, even though I don’t eat breakfast. Loved my experience here, and I would return!

As mentioned in my review, a coffee machine/tea kettle in my room.

This was a really nice and interesting place to stay. The building is gorgeous. I think it is a multi-tenanted, and quite old type of building, with the hotel making up a smaller portion of the building as a whole. The location is great and and easy launching point for exploring different parts of the city, especially the Centro storico to the west with its maze-like alleyways and hidden restaurant gems. The hotel is close to Brignole train station and an easy walk even with luggage on cobblestone.

Our toilet had a small leak and the bathroom accumulated a somewhat foul smell. The plumbing is understandably very old (the floor is raised in some parts, as retrofitting is difficult). In our case there was a bilge pump in the area and it would go on and off all night long due to the leak. Also, the use of of toilet paper in the toilet was not permitted and bidet use was required.

Room appeared dated but decent. Good size. Not sure how long the hotel has been here since this appears to be a converted office building. Breakfast was excellent

They should move the breakfast to the 2nd floor next to the receptionist which has more room.Checkout was a bit confusing - probably my fault. I thought Booking or the hotel would automatically charge my card. It would have been helpful if the receptionist reminded us to close our account when we were leaving to catch a taxi.

Nice location in the city centre of Genova, the hotel is located in a historic landmark. Good breakfast, nice staff

Prime location close to everything. Room cleanliness, proximity of the parking garage.

    7EleniPosted on: 9-7-2025

Very nice decorated ceiling and bed, the staff was really helpful. Excellent location.

The bathroom was very small and kind of “added” to the room. The parking that was the nearest was a bit far and with the luggage going uphill in cobble streets it was a bit hard. Especially after our long drive. Also they didn’t really look ahead to sending us the code on how to enter etc, but the were fast responding after our message.

The location of this place is just in main street, it is great. The lady who prepared breakfast was very kind.

Upon departure, we were told the card machine was not working and had to pay the tourist tax of 12 EUR in cash. We did not receive a receipt. I later found out the correct tax for our family (2 adults, 2 children) should have been only 6 EUR. At our artival, we were also instructed to park in a very expensive garage ( COIN ) across the street, where we paid 50 EUR for 20 hours. This was a very disappointing experience. However, the place was not very clean.

Perfect location for everything. Was a beautiful old building that maintained the character but modernised where required. Staff so helpful and gave great advice where to visit. Brilliant breakfast. Hard to believe it is a 3 star not 4?

Would have been nice to have coffee making in the room but as a 3 star was not expected, easy enough to buy and breakfast was brilliant

The location is great, right where all the shopping is. The beautiful architecture and the high ceiling gave the feeling of the old Italian building it was in for sure. The old elevator was pretty authentic. A code is given to the outside and inside doors. A great value for the price.

Parking was an issue but there was an above ground parking near by.

    Perfect location

The old lift they have is a nightmare considering the hotel is located in floors 3&4.Despite they offer luggage storage, that only means you left your luggage on the middle of a corridor unattended. We came back to take a couple of things and nobody asked or told us anything, so be careful if you left there valuable items.
