    Pros +

    • This centuries old estate was quite interesting and made for a delightful stay. Part of the charm was the painted ceilings, marble staircase, and architecture both inside and out. The reception staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. We were glad to have free parking on the property. I made the short walk to the Parchi di Nervi (city park) and was delighted to find a beautiful, long seaside walkway. The included breakfast was nice with freshly baked breakfast cakes every morning and delicious cappuccino. This was a stop for access to both Genoa and Cinque Terre. I wish we had planned to stay longer and explore more of Nervi.
    • The owners were so nasty beyond comparison pretension. Bed was old and uncomfortable. Bathroom was moldy . The worst experience of my life . When I asked for internet he said I was the only person that ever complained . I reserved for 5 days and left after the first night . I would like a refund please
    • Good location.

    Cons -

    • Old is the operative word here. It could/should be updated in its decor and furnishings, but we slept well every night. The private bath turned out to be across a receiving hall on our floor, not attached. The shower was so small I washed at the sink. But we have learned to expect how small accommodations are in historic buildings.
    • Attitude was awful
    • The property is what I expected from previous reviews. Outdated but does have some charm. The man at reception greeted us with a request for our passports and handed us the keys! There was no smile, welcome, hello or any form of greeting! I thought this was incredibly rude as a first contact with a guest. We felt like we were an inconvenience. One of the reasons I booked this place was because of reviews stating friendly staff. This was not our experience and I would not choose to stay here again.

Very nice place with good breakfast. It's lovely to wake up on the smell of a freshly made coffee what cones through the building in morning. It's 5 minutes to Marina where plenty of good restaurants. 10 minutes to beach.

Could have been a bit Vegetable on the breakfast tableYou often hear the passing trains but it was probably only for me bothering

the warmest welcome, cosy atmosphere, wonderful spacious building, beautiful view, the smell of pine under the sun, the church bell, the most delicious food ? grateful to have stayed here

nothing, it's a 16 century building! what's not to like

Amazing location, amazing vibe, amazing rooms and incredibly nice people. The Villa has a certain charme and it was a very special place to stay at. It seems like time hasn’t passed there. Enjoying a summer evening by the balcony or a very nice breakfast in the garden felt just like a treat.Great quality for great prices. Enjoyed the half board with great choices of menu different everyday, the staff was always very happy to help, family-like stay.

No AC and the bathrooms needs some update.

Wow - what can I say about this hotel? What an amazing building, full of history! The owners were lovely, the breakfast was exceptional (the homemade cakes were out of this world!) and the building itself is stunning. The location is about 3 miles from Genoa in a small area called Nervi, but the transport links (bus or train) are excellent from the city centre. I would love to come back here and explore the area more.

The room is a little basic and there is no air conditioning, but the charm of the building was what we came for! The price of the stay reflects this. It did not disappoint!

cool staff, wonderful historic atmosphere, peaceful garden where you can always enjoy a cup of coffee.

    6TimPosted on: 7-15-2024

It had loads of character and would have been a grand house in its day. The staff were really friendly, spoke English, and it was a nice authentic Italian style breakfast. Location was right in the town and it had free parking if you could squeeze through the narrow stone entrance.

Unfortunately, a lot of it felt like a backpackers hostel as I don't think there had been much maintenance in the last 30 years. The bathroom was a bit grimey and very dated. Beds were creaky and without air-conditioning in July it was hot. It was overpriced but everything around Genoa is over priced!

Location is nice. Quiet and central in Nervi

Pretty run down. Needs renovation. Bed and mattress very very old.

The breakfast, location and staff were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The professionalism and kindness of the staff, the location of the hotel, the dinner, the park, and the historical charm of the hotel

The hotel needs refurbishment, but I expected that

This is certainly a building of character! ( 16thCentury) We had a very large room and comfortable bed and could just see the sea through the other buildings around, and through the other window a fabulous view of the city and mountains. It’s a lovey location. Very near the promenade for a beautiful long walk. And up the road a fantastic park with very interesting art gallery and museum. We had dinner at the hotel both nights, which was tasty home cooked food and good value for money - in fact I think all the hotel residents did the same, as was full! There was even a place to park the car! I liked the stay very much and we will return.

It was a bit of a tight squeeze getting through the ancient gates with our modern car! The furniture and curtains , although sort of in keeping with the ambience, had, to be fair, seen better days! I love old buildings but some furnishing update would make a nice improvement without spoiling the character. Also the toiletries were rather ‘mean’ - a thin sachet of shower gel which was difficult to open! And a water bottle and glasses in room would’ve been nice - but we just took ours up from downstairs ? no problem. But only small details that would’ve made a big difference.

A unique (to me) building with character and history. Helpful staff and good food. I even got notified to say that I had left something. Close good roads and public transport. Nice area.

I like it enough to want to go back.

This place has much more to offer than just an accommodation, it is absolutely extraordinary! The vibe, the history, you can feel it all. The frescoes, old floors, paintings on the walls. I had a room with amazing mountain view, facing the garden, you could hear birds chirping. The location is charming, it was my second time in Genova and I had an absolutely thrilling experience staying in Nervi (last time it was city center). Probably the best possible location I could have ever dreamt of, beautiful village, really close to train station and pedestrian promenade where you could walk by the sea. Neighbourhood is safe, calm and beautiful. The breakfast was delicous, the dining room with beautiful ceilling, located next to the garden. Service was super nice and you can absolutely feel the family atmosphere. Owners are doing an amazing job, and you can feel they put all their heart into this placeOf course, the place could use some delicate renovations, especially the bathroom for example because of falling plaster on the ceiling in the shower. But the place is really clean. Honestly the condition of the bathroom didn't even bother me at the end at all, because the stay was an absolutely magical experience for me. And the vibe was completely worth it. I will definitely come back here one day, I had an amazing time and felt absolutely relaxed and recharged by staying there.

Good location close to train station, to go everywhere easily.Very good breakfast and nice people, very helpful.

Shower a little bit small for me.

    8AlanPosted on: 4-20-2024

My young son and I both loved the location and the old worldly charm of the villa. Plus the Villa's atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were very helpful.

    8AngelicaPosted on: 4-15-2024

Location is very central you arrive in within minutes to the port. Staff is kind and attentive, and breakfast is superb

The bathroom needs serious maintenance, there were black mold marks everywhere and salty water destroyed part of the shower wall. It is fair to say though that I could notice that it wasn’t a cleaning issue

    10MartinPosted on: 4-8-2024

The hotel is very old and has a wonderful charm. My room had a very nice view.I slept incredibly well.Breakfast is excellent as are the homemade jams!

The only criticism is the size of the shower. It was too small.

    6ClairePosted on: 11-21-2023

We used this hotel as a stopover so the location was good.

The building itself is lovely but it has become very rundown and is in need of a great deal of renovation. The staff weren’t that friendly and gave the impression that they would rather not be there. There was no heating in our bedroom and no additional blankets so during the night it was very cold!
