    Pros +

    • The staff-incredible!The location- perfect!
    • Very good location close to the piazza in the center of town, and a short walk to the waterfront area. Convenient parking in Piccapietra Aperto parking garage, about 10-minute walk away (€25/day) outside the ZTL. You need to walk down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel, located in an alleyway. Very friendly desk staff, Very nice walk-in shower with rain shower. WIFI, A/C, TV. Adequate breakfast buffet in a nice room located on the second floor.
    • Everything: location, staff (top notch and friendly), comfort, clean.

    Cons -

    • Room was small.Room air was warm and couldn’t be adjusted.
    • Room was very small, A/C didn’t work well at times and got hot at night. Uncomfortable sleeping with duvet. No luggage racks. Not a big negative but be aware that European hotels don’t provide wash clothes, we always bring our own.
    • We liked everything.

We were very pleased with the hotel. We were looking for a centrally located hotel that offered good value for money and comfort. The Doria delivered. The location is near the Piazza de Ferrari and the Teatro Carlo Felice, but on a small quiet street. You are right in the centre of the old town and a few minutes walk to the Via Giuseppe Garibaldi and the key must see museums. The staff of the hotel were wonderful with providing all types of information, restaurant recommendations, etc. We opted for the breakfast, which was nice. The breakfast area is on the top floor, open, outdoor seating, which is wonderful if the weather is cooperating. If not, enough space in side. Standard breakfast offer of croissants, hard/soft boiled eggs, juice, cereal, coffee, etc. We felt the breakfast was worth the price. The room had a nice comfortable bed, TV, and a large bathroom (no mini-fridge) - however there is a fridge in the lobby with cold drinks and beer that you can grab and pay when check out. I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a nice centrally located hotel with great staff that is a good value for money.

No mini-fridge in room, but the refrigerator in the lobby stocked with the essentials was great.

The location was great, a happy middle between the train station, and the aquarium, and found plenty of gems in-between!

Breakfast so/so... The location is very good

Breakfast. The beds could be wider.

The staff was passionate and polite, very helpful. The room was clean, and the location is convenient to everywhere.

The property is in a great location and extremely clean.

The only downside is that you have to climb down a staircase into an alleyway with your suitcases to get to the hotel from the main street other than that perfect perfect.

Very good location and very clean.

The superior room was smaller than expected and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room extremely limited (no coffee, only herbal tea bags and just one regular tea bag that was not replenished the next day).

Amazing hospitaly of the staff, they provided me some great tips about the city and were eager to solve any requests, e.g. early check in or watching my luggage after check out. The hotel is small & friendly, and the location is amazing, close to everything by foot. Despite the central location, it is very calm and quiet, so you can sleep in peace. I would stay here again when visiting Genova.

The location was excellent - close to everything. The room was modern and clean and comfortable. All staff we encountered were extremely helpful. The terrace on the fourth floor was a lovely place.

It would be nice if the breakfast could offer some warm foods and a bit more variety.

Nice girl at the reception waited for us because we were a little late to check in, location is the best you can imagine, few minutes walk everywhere, rooms are cozy, clean, ideal for city break trip, warm in the room, hot water all the time, clean, cold beer in the reception. Absolutely I think you won't get anything better for this price.

It's a good location and the staff were really nice, the bed was good, the shower was hot and the bathroom was big. It's a nice central location but in a quiet typically Genoan side street.

It was cold in late December, especially the bathroom, they emailed saying don't bother reviewing if I'd give them under the average score which I thought was kind of a scummy thing to do so I told the truth here.

excellent location, next to Piazza Ferrari and the Opera. Very helpful staff.

not possible to reach the hotel with the car, so need to carry the luggage. Room (204) very very small, but OK for the price you pay. Breakfast (8 Euros) very basic.

I had such a great stay at Hotel Doria! The front desk lady was so warm and welcoming, which made checking in a breeze. The room was much bigger than I expected, super clean, modern, and really cozy—perfect for the cold weather.Breakfast was well worth it, especially the salty options with lots of prosciutto—such a nice touch! What really stood out was how thoughtful and flexible the staff was. The weather was bad on my last day, and they were kind enough to offer a late checkout without any fuss. They even called me a cab, which made everything so much easier.Honestly, for the price, this place is amazing value—comfortable, well-located, and with genuinely great service. Would absolutely stay again! ?

Hotel Doris is beautiful and modern with lovely staff and located in the historic centre close to the Old Port of Genoa.

    I loved it all.

Great location , clean comfortable. Great friendly informative staff

Stair access or needing to go the the long way around. Also I didn’t realize that there would be no fridge in room.

Excellent location, great and friendly staff. Exceptionally clean, breakfast was great. Facilities were perfect. Reception staff were very willing to go out of their way to help with extra information about the local area. They make a great coffee too. I liked the dining area at the top floor.
