D'oreale Grande Hotel Emperors Palace

The hotel is beautiful. Room was big enough. Bathroom was nice!

We forgot to tip our housecleaner and they did not leave towels. I had read reviews on that, but didn¿t think they would actually go that low. But sure enough, we forgot to leave money and they ¿forgot¿ to leave towels. Shame.

I did not stay here. I wanted to cancel but the cancellation policy didn't permit it.

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, and extra details to health and safety of the rooms and restaurants and common rooms to protect against covid. The free breakfast was like eating at a 5 star restaurant with a complete menu.

Several weird things happened like housekeeping trying to get into our room at 10pm at night and them taking hours to get cots for our kids to be delivered. Then we had to pay a lot for a shuttle to the airport because our flight was early in the morning.

I tried to change or cancel my booking because of flights that got delayed in America but did not got any feedback.

Rooms were a big step above the other two hotels on the property. The concierge was very helpful in getting us a tour that fit our time-sensitive needs. We were placed on the concierge floor, which was nice. And they extended our checkout time without a quibble.

Nothing comes to mind. We definitely recommend it over the Mondior.

The fact that was close to the venue is f the event we attended

Breakfast too poor for that kind of property… only able to serve scrambled eggs, not any other kind….

A luxurious room in a good hotel with an excellent hotel resturant. The complex is ok, if you like the casino, if not it's quite isolated. The garden and fountains make a nice backdrop for a restful morning.

Reception staff in person were friendly, helpful and polite. We left early in the morning before the restaurant opened for breakfast and they kindly packed a breakfast box for us. Convenient to the airport.

We were in a non-smoking room on 3rd floor. In the evening a very strong smell of cigarette smoke emanated from the room next to us, through the interleading door. We called reception - took ages for someone to answer - to notify them someone was smoking in the adjoining room. The staff offered to move us to a smaller room on a lower floor. We were in bed by that stage as we had a 5am wake up. We didn’t want to pack up everything, get out of our pajamas, dress, move to another floor (to a smaller room) and start all over again… we just wanted the smokers in the NON SMOKING ROOM next door, to stop smoking. Reception said they would send someone up, and within 10 mins the smoke smell disappeared. Only to start up again 20 mins later. We called reception again - repeatedly - with no pickup. So the smokers carried on smoking in the non-smoking room, and we blocked the door and keyhole with bath towels.

Well appointed room and bathroom.Excellent breakfast

Woken in middle of night at about 01h00 with "emergency evacuation". After some decent down emergency stairwell staff member came running towards our group decending from the top stating "false alarm you can go back."No official communication or pardon ever attempted let alone received. Most unprofessional and unsatisfying.

Stunning inside and out, the rooms are spacious and comfortable

Workers looking through our window at 06h50 and then banging next to the window from 07h00. Breakfast was very disappointing.

Very nice Hotel to stay,disappointed to find empty fridge.Also only a shower and no bathtub.

The location is excellent. The rooms are comfortable. The service from staff was excellent.

Location to Casino and access to casino. Breakfast is amazing and also breakfast venue.

No cold water in fridge. Room had a lot of flies and mosquitos. Floor of bathroom as you enter is extremely slippery and such I have nearly slipped and fell twice. Aircon seems to be functioning very limited and is not easily adjusted to required setting. Generally i expexted more from this grade of hotel

I am not sure how the invoice procedure works as both the hotel and booking.com is pointing to each other to get the invoice. I am disappointed as I now have a zero-value invoice as the payment was done to booking.com but it is pointing to the hotel for an invoice, they issued me with a zero-value one and said I need to contact booking .com for it. SO confusing and still don't have an invoice.

Location, safe, clean

Experience at Reign Restaurant was a bit disappointing for a 5-star hotel, had to send my steak back 3 times to get a medium steak done correctly, staff was helpful to address the situation though. Breakfast was also disappointing. We arrived at 9H00, most of the cold meats and fruit was out by then. Would have appreciate it if the minibar in the room was stocked.

Location and grounds are why we have previously stayed at this property and they remain good

Room service quality was very poor - for example tuna sandwich consisted of mounds of rye bread and minuscule quantities of tuna and salad ingredients. Hamburger was completely lacking in any degree of imagination, dry and bland. On previous stays, breakfast was a treat to anticipate - not any more, sadly. Very little choice, no ability to toast your own bread, muffin or whatever, water had to be delivered, likewise butter, condiments etc - impossible to do anything without depending on busy waitstaff who often were not available. Eggs Benedict were without doubt the worst I have experienced, certainly not up to 5 star hotel standards at all. I don’t know if management of the restaurant has changed hands, but I suspect that is the case, and it appears to be yet another example of post Covid penny pinching. Very disappointing all round. On a positive note, staff throughout the hotel remain friendly and helpful.

Everything All the staff were amazing from reception staff to the pool staff, and a big thank you to Norman the security guard who was an amazing man We were upgraded a room on arrival which was absolutely wonderful! Big thank you to the room service lady who bought us up our evening meal Thank you all at the Peermont D’oreale Grande for making our stay amazing!!! We will definitely be back

Everything was wonderful, nothing to dislike

The Peermont is a perfect place to start holidays in Sout Africa. Very nice rooms, Reign is very good restaurant, excellent breakfast, friendly staff and smooth shuttle service to and from the airport.
