Pros +
- The hotel has a beautiful vintage decor and is well maintained. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was also attentive and polite. The buffet breakfast had a good amount of options and you could also order scrambled eggs, supposedly for an extra fee.
- Good
- The property was central, the staff were lovely, it was clean. It would have been brilliant in its heyday, but is now rather tired looking. We loved that our room looked out over gushing water, great sound.
Cons -
- I tried cancelling my reservation more than three weeks in advance and the hotel was completely inflexible about it, even though it was a time when they could easily have gotten reservations that would replace mine.I go to Gerês regularly and had stayed at this place before. I will never do so again in the future, as I prefer to pay for places that don't place their greed above everything.
- We could ear a bit of noise from outside and from other guests.
- The facilities are quite outdated; the space could use a renovation in the rooms. Additionally, the breakfast could be improved by serving, for example, fresh fruit.

A little bit musty smelling, could do with a lick of paint and new flooring. But at least we could open the window to the sound of running water .
Gorgeous art deco hotel at an unbeatable price. It's probably more in the Summer months but it was only $95 for 2 rooms for my aunt and I in March. Check in was easy and the host recommended restaurants and started a big fire in the beautiful fire place for us. Breakfast was included and it was very nice. Great experience overall.
The decor is gorgeous. The river is right outside of the hotel, I fell asleep to the sound of rushing water.
A hotel from a bygone era in an excellent location. Comfertable rooms and friendly staff.
The WiFi is terrible, we needed decent WiFi access and despite the hotel being very quiet the connection was poor.
Interesting hotel with a 1920s vibe. Very friendly, helpful staff. Very happy to keep our bikes safe.
Fabulous location, great staff! They advertise a swimming pool but it is not located at the hotel.
Beds and pillows were very hard!
The staff is nice, the location is perfect! The room was good and beds comfortable. The view from the room into the mountains. The breakfast buffe quite nice too. The hotel has an open parking area nearby. Really good place to explore Geres Park and enjoy terms baths (3min away).
Very beautiful, clean, good breakfast, quiet.
WiFi not good in the bedroom, pool is not in the building, it's a 5 min walk, but very pleasant.
Location, very central to main town, parking in garage was good,
Bed was hard, the pool was not on the property, a bit of a hike to get there but very big pool when you got there, but it needs to be loved in the upkeep of the surrounding gardens and grass land around the pool to make it more attractive, and the change area needs to be maintained more often not at all clean
Good Location, clean
Everything is good, only cafe could be better operation.
We liked the individuality of the hotel. The swimming pool was a bonus. The breakfast as good and rooms were comfortable.
The wifi in the rooms was intermittent.
Rooms were super clean, the staff very pleasant, the decor and location very cozy. Breakfast nice, with lot of options.
Only one thing - instant coffee served during breakfast. Freshly brewed would make such a difference! Apart from that - I strongly recommend stay at the hotel :)
Very good breakfast, nice location, amazing building and common sitting area.
Building is rather old, but it has kept a lot of its charme
Very Confortable, very good location and staff are very nice.
No parking and eggs in the breakfast, you can order the eggs but you have to pay a part.
The location was perfect. Friendly staff and our room was clean and spacious, great value. Highly recommend.
The breakfast could of been a little more adventurous.
It is a beautiful place, Art Deco in places, felt a bit magical staying amongst all the plants. The service was outstanding, I am vegan and the waiter went above and beyond to make sure I had something to eat and soya milk to drink with my coffee! The pool was also incredible. A beautiful little treasure of a hotel!
The hotel is excellently located, has a really quaint feel. The lobby area is so unusually designed & cosy. Breakfast was good, as was car parking.
The hotel website needs an upgrade, it does not do justice to the facility. Decor wise its a lost opportunity to replace the existing artwork with photography of the stunning location.
Price fits the hotel
Too noisy at night. Can't completely block light from the outside in the room
