Cons -
- The breakfast was good, but the same every day. It would have been nice to have some variety. They could add hard-boiled eggs to the selection, for example.
- Bathroom shower was a little janky but not a big deal.
- I'm not ready to say I "didn't like" that some foods ran out and did not get replaced. I expect there was an ecological reason for some and a matter of dishwasher priorities for others, The only things I missed were a chance to have pastrami and water. On the other hand, I got fresh melon and lovely sauces.I needed Kleenex, alas.

It is a bit of an older hotel but, still very clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. It is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants and offers easy access to the park. We basically used it as our base for exploring the park. They have free parking in a locked garage which is always appreciated.
Great location and friendly/helpful staff. Rooms were modest but comfortable. Fantastic continental breakfast with wonderful views. Solid value overall.
Bathroom shower was a little janky but not a big deal.
The breakfast was a quite nice continental style. There were a variety of options based on teste and food tolerance.Everyone there worked hard but also kindly.I like the balcony to my room.

Staff was great to help book excursions. Great location
Bathroom was super tight
Fanrastic staff, helped me arrange fun activities in the mountains. Lovely, big windows and french doors to little balcony with stunning mountain views. Super close to the village for cafes and local spa which was magical!!!
No hairdryer in room.
Very big and clean triple room, warm enough for winter, and with a bath. Breakfast was wonderful. We also loved the fireplace in the bar downstairs.
Rooms are nice. Quite small and old furnished but actually very comfortable. Also we had small balcony with an amazing Mountain View so I can’t complain. Everything was clean and air conditioner worked well so room got warm fast.Geres doesn’t really have many restaurants and shops but even those few you need are super close to this hotel. Also pharmacy. And ofc it is located in the heart of Geres National park so by car you can reach any natural attraction.Restaurants and shops are in 5-10 mins walking distance but for mountains and trails you better go by car.Well, at least coffee was always good and hot, plus they had pancakes and a pie besides things to make yourself a sandwich. Also you can have tea and fresh fruits any time besides breakfast. Plus usually we took some extra yogurt to have it as a snack for later. This hotel has its own garage what was really good not to leave the car just on the narrow street
I found breakfast quite simple and after 3 nights it was really nice to have something different.
Like the cozy common area and the environment surrounding the hotel is nice and quiet (especially it’s a weekday).
Understand it’s not a normal tourist destination, the lady at the front desk doesn’t speak English, but she did try to communicate with us even speaking different language, a guest was kindly help to translate, and google translate also helps, so it is not a problem. Water needs to be taken time to get hot. Not suitable to carry a big luggage as you need to walk the stairs, which is normal in Europe. An egg would be good to have for the choice of breakfast.
Location was goodPrice was ok
We had bad smell from the bathroom which was not solved our entire stay.Room was quite old and not inviting
Great location next to town. Very quiet hotel and very clean. They actually had brewed coffee!
Parking was odd and off property but it worked out fine
Perfect location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy access with the car. Parking garage available.Beautiful building and views to the mountains.Spacious room, comfortable bed and mountain view. Quite environment.
The coffee. The breakfast is simple but fine though.
Amazing view, comfortable bed and a very friendly staff. The breakfast can be eaten outside with an amazing view over the mountain, also very sunny. AC in the room is working and the balcony is a good addition. Room is very quiet during the night. The hotel was kind enough to let us use the main fridge to keep our products cool. The free parking in the garage is nice ( bit cramped to park, felt a bit scary)
The bathroom is very dated, did not got the room with the fancy bathroom.
Convenient and secure parking with the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful with info.
Room is a little tight, when you have larger sized bags as we did. Some basic tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be nice. You can get in reception, but early in the morning, would be much easier and more convenient to do in the room.
The location that is very near the Main Street with restaurants and supermarkets. Cozy place to unwind after a day’s out and about in the national park. It has a big private garage for us to park for free.
Location, right in the vila do Gerês, close to everything you need. Hotel and rooms smell amazing all the time. Great views. Breakfast at around 9h means you get to sunbathe in a great morning sun. Our go to every year.
The shower glass doors still need to be fixed. After a shower the bathroom is a pool.
The property was very well located, 200m from the main street where all the restaurants and shops are! It’s a very charming chalet with comfortable rooms, the decor makes you feel like you are truly in the nature with lots of rocks and wood in the structure. We really enjoyed our stay, the free parking lot is very convenient considering that there isn’t any parking space in the street! The breakfast is great and the staff is super friendly and really helpful. The balcony had a great Mountain View and it was a dream to wake up to. The rooms have AC witch is great but the only thing that was missing was a minibar for water since it was super hot out and we had to buy ice everyday to have fresh water in the hikes, it would be very much appreciated if the property invested in it for next time. Anyways, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and comfortable stay!
Loved everything about it! The only things that would make it even more perfect were a minibar in the rooms and a pool! Also would really appreciate if breakfast started a bit earlier, 8:30 isn’t the best for people that go on big hikes or want to go to the river before it’s super crowded!
Excellent location, really beautiful view, nice room, 'old fashioned ' in a nice way. There was always someone at reception to ask things, they made nice mint and lemon water for the guests, nice area outside to sit, just a great place. everything I would want. Felt really safe and happy there
I liked it all
