Pros +
- Lovely grounds and staff were just lovely.
- It is an Eco lodge so toilets are composting and showers are timed. Some travelers might not care for this but it was fine - plus lots of educational posters explaining the process along with their solar panels. The add on dinner was superb. Did not expect such fine dining in a little town. Gardens and art were amazing also
- It was beautifully furnished with tasteful art. The staff were helpful and the included breakfasts were very good with choices.
Cons -
- We expected to be in a more isolated location, not right next to a main road and a caravan park. The cost did not reflect the facilities. It was way overpriced in our opinion. The bed was nearly impossible to sleep on. Zero air conditioning, which I get but no overhead fans to deal with the heat and stuffiness made for an uncomfortable sleep.
- We have stayed in other lodges and accommodation around the same price bracket and this didn’t compare with those. We didn’t have a daily service of our room with clean dry towels and bed made and bathroom/ shower wiped out. There was no hand cream or tissues and the complimentary items in the fridge were not restocked. They are small little extras but at this level, should have been included. I was the only one in the lounge after dinner reading, at 8.30pm( I looked at my watch!) when the lovely background music was turned off and the secondary light system was turned over around half an hour later. I was notified of this. Rather rude I thought. I was surprised that the dinner wasn’t included after we saw that it was extra with our package but for what we paid, I think all the food should have been included and the beverages our choice to purchase. We chatted to the staff about our thoughts which they took on board discussing the fact that a winter rate would see a higher occupancy rate. We were the only ones staying there. Please take these comments in a positive manner as we think the Lodge is a wonderful concept and it would be sad to see it not thrive in Glenorchy.
- Overpriced at $790/nightNo small fridge for milk for coffee/tea makingNo house keeping services. No blow waverVery small room

Stunning architectural detail and use of sustainable design. Friendly staff who made our stay memorable.
The staff were amazing the location and the room was clean.

Beautiful setting, very friendly staff, loved the compost toilet and very well designed ecolodge.
A bit on the pricy side but we did book late.
Loved everything the staff were great , the lodge & all the eco sustainable initiatives , the landscaping
Nice rooms and property. Food was good.
We tried to book dinner for a second night and the chef would not tell us what was on the menu (chef selection only). By 3 pm of the day, all tables were booked. At these prices, we expect to know what is on the menu. One of us does not like lamb.
Lovely place to stay, restful and peaceful, gorgeous setting. Chalet spotless, very comfortable. So enjoyed our stay, and the food was amazing. Especially loved sitting by the big fire in the evening.
Nothing!
The gardens, decor and general ambience of the place is lovely. The lodge rooms are very cute and spacious with nice shower, tea and coffee making facilities and the compostable toilet was very clean and did not smell at all. Everything was run in an eco friendly manner with lots of explanation around about what they do and why in this regard. The dinner & breakfast were excellent, good chef!
It was expensive, but given the location and ethos plus the fact that we were travelling at peak time of year this is perhaps unsurprising.
Clean, environmentally friendly and beautiful location. It was so educationally learning about how sustainable they are and how the accomodation is eco friendly.
Eclectic in ambiance….very comfortable lodgingThe staff were warm and gracious. The chef(s) at the top of their craft.Their attention to the environmental concerns of our planet were way ahead of the curve. Too be applauded.

loved breakfast and lunch! the staff were super helpful and friendly! the food was beyond amazing! every meal was amazing!! i can't wait to bring my husband back!! can't fault the place! absolutely gorgeous!
that we couldn't stay longer
good
Needed to be reminded breakfast was included in price...missed first breakfast as didn't realise this. When I booked the place was advertised as a "lodge"...when I arrived it was now a" camp."
The staff were lovely and the food was sensational and excellent value. Breakfasts and dinners were the highlight of our day and the home made granola was the best ever. We paid twice as much for dinner at our next stop and it was not even half the quality.
The instant coffee and white sugar provided in the rooms could perhaps be improved upon.
The staff were so lovely and the food great. This was the second time we stayed here and it was fantastic once again. The night sky is so clear and beautiful
Lovely surroundings and fabulous facilities and restaurant.
Accomodation was a bit basic gor the money tbh.
We were warmly welcomed and proudly told about the lodege. The generous 5 course dinner - dinner and breakfast were excellent. The room was comfortable and clean. The setting is spectacular and perfect for hiking - great to be warm and dry while the storms rolled in!
The bar is still building its stocks (dont ask for cocktails) BUT the wines offered were excellent.
Breakfast great if you were not in a hurry.
Overpriced and took a long time to sort a problem out. Communication is a serious problem.
arty and unique food amazingstaff great
showers took ages to heat up then timer finished
