Scenic Hotel Punakaiki

Location was great.

Terrible Staff. Reserved a table for dinner at the window for a birthday and got a table in the middle of the room side by side with one star service. Completely disappointed!

Seaview from room, within walking distance to pancake rocks and beach, spacious and quiet room, and buffet breakfast.

Great location, just a few steps from Pancake Rocks. Close to hiking trails. The place was lovely, though this traveler didn't need that much comfort!!! The room was big, surrounded by rainforest garden. Nice size kitchen, but a restaurant on the property.

I didn't realize it was so remote. There are no convenience stores, though this is a tourist stop more than anything. There are a few other places to stay and eat - I was without a car, so my choices were limited.

Location was good, the room was nice, the view was each view but as we were on the ground it wasn't much of a view.

Not having any utensils only teaspoons, no plates, nothing to eat on if we had brought something for breakfast or dinner.No electric blanketswould have liked a toaster so I could have made my own breakfast

Rooms too hot and no air conditioning. Walkway from parking to unit rough. No fly screens on doors. Lots of sand flies in room.

View, landscaping, friendly helpful staff, cleanliness, beautifully appointed linens, fantastic on-site restaurant. Great breakfast included.

Room was welcoming and tidy. Tastefully decorated, suitable fridge for 4 people, enough storage and kitchenette well equipped. Beds very comfortable, nice and peaceful were you can rest, unwind and enjoy the beauty of NZ West Coast. Lovely walking ways, beautiful beach and scenery. Punakaiki pancake rocks only walking distance away. Restaurant providing lovely food. A pub a short drive away at Punakaiki rocks Hotel and garden bar.

A air con in summer will help cooling down, rooms are west facing.

Gorgeous location, hotel and rooms are spotless and well appointed and the bed was sooo comfortable.

The location. Wonderful sunset by the sea. Dinner and breakfast.

The internet in the room was disconnected all the time. After complaining, the lady at the reception could not fix it. Kitchen smell on the way to the room.

Mattress wasn’t great

the restaurant, being a bit remote, i would have liked the place to have a few more vegetarian options in the menu.

The scenery was spectacular. Our room on the hill was perfect.

A detachable shower head would be great but maybe the water pressure doesn't allow it.

Spectacular location on the oceanfront, with some pancake rocks at one end of the beach. Modern and comfortable accommodations, and very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast on site.

Yash is a great person to assist us with food, tips, and assisting check in/out.

Getting luggage to 1st floor was not easy. Also, guests should have provided some insect repellent in the room.

The beds are amazing and pillows were lush! The restaurant was lovely and the lemon chicken was delicious.

The floors are thin and the people above let their kids run around all night. The receptionist guy was amazing and actually did something about it. We had a quieter night after that. My advice would be to book an upstairs room.

The TV was broken so the kids couldn’t watch anything. This was a major as we had travelled all day and they were looking forward to a movie.
