Cons -
- Just needed better weather and more time there
- The accommodations in the Moa Lodge were subpar. Our room was tiny, and there were only 2 shared bathrooms - not nearly enough for maximum capacity in the Moa Lodge. We had to wait every time we needed the bathroom, and the lodge was only about 1/4 full!
- Continental breakfast was lacking.

Great location. Room was comfortable. The view was wonderful. We had lunch and dinner and the food was good. Breakfast was included but there weren’t a lot of hot options and it as pretty basic. Overall we had a nice overnight stay.
The restaurant was fantastic and the staff extremely polite and professional. Great views and comfortable room..
Continental breakfast was lacking.
The staff where al really friendly and was always willing to help me. The food was great, and the room was comfortable, neat and tidy. Even the furniture in the rooms were of good quality. The views where excellent, I took at least 20 picture just of the views and the walk to the river was great.
There's not anything that come to mind. Having stayed in a few motels due to traveling for work this one would be one of the nicer once's I have been in.
Great location, Good place to use as a central location to do some exploring and hiking.
The restaurant was absolutely horrible. Probably the worst meal our entire 3 week trip. I would opt to go to the Arthurs Pass village restaurant.
Absolutely everything! Clean room with a comfy bed in a beautiful location. Staff were very friendly & helpful.Dinner at the hotel was a very delicious pub meal at a reasonable price.
We loved splurging for the hot tub, enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, the beautiful river walk, and the comfy bed and spacious room. We appreciated the warm note & chocolates celebrating our honeymoon ❤️
Nothing!
Just to be clear, this is a rating for the lodging, not the restaurant. We stayed in a “villa”. The room was very large, plenty of room for us to spread out, and had an amazing view from 3 different windows. Fabulous. Had we known this property was so nice, we would have stayed an extra night. The staff were all very helpful. We had considered staying at a very expensive place just up the road, but no need - this property was fantastic, and close to the hikes we wanted to do.
staff supper efficient AND friendly tooThe big bed and crisp bed linen

Rooms are brand new and very comfortable. Staff was exceptionally caring about the quality of our stay. The white-capped mountains and river views were spectacular!
Rooms are very clean with nice mountain view. Dinning room is big, food are delicious.
The location was amazing, staff was friendly too!
The included breakfast didn’t have the option of any cooked food, not even cooked eggs.
Lovely views comfortable room great dinners and breakfasts and very helpful friendly staff
Everything about The Bealey Hotel was excellent!! Location, views, staff, included breakfast and the beds were the best we slept in throughout our whole South Island trip!!!
Nothing!!
Great location and very comfortable accommodation. Very good food.
A beautiful location, warm and cosy room with comfortable beds and pillows. Soap, shampoo & conditioner and bathrobes provided. Basic tea and coffee supplies. The continental breakfast provided was fantastic with plenty of options. Toast, bagels, cereal, pastries, fruit. The shower was great pressure and the best of our trip around the south island!
Some doors and windows didn't shut properly due to age, but they are upgrading the rooms gradually.
Amazing location. Very quiet, clean and well presented.
