    Pros +

    • The price, the size of the room and the location very near of the railway station and city center.
    • Terrible experience, dirty, old, worn out.
    • Breakfast was okay - they had run out of a lot of items about an hour before due to tour groups and were working to make more when I arrived.

    Cons -

    • There was a smell of fish in the room sometimes
    • The place is extremely dated. From the elevator to the rooms, it felt like it was 1970. Beyond being extremely old, bathroom didn’t have soap for use and did not look like it was cleaned very wel.
    • Staff was not friendly or knowledgeable. A bit weird. No greetings

find alternative, this hotel is too old for Eur 200+

To be honest, the hotel is very seasoned. While the exterior looks little bit modern, the moment you step in, the age of the property becomes apparent. The carpets are worn and may even be the source of an unpleasant smell. Everything, from the beds and balconies to the bathroom, feels old and tired. Having a shower curtain in the bathroom in 2025 is almost funny, especially when you're paying over Eur 200 per night, i added some close up pictures, see them.Staff were friendly and in our check-in they offered us a complimentary upgrade to a sea view room. We step-in to the room; surprise the view was completely obstructed by another structure right in front of the balcony, so no sea view at all. We started laughing at that point.Overall, if you're expecting a modern hotel experience with a star rating, you'd be better off spending the night at a campsite, better for your money same comfort. We were told the hotel is scheduled for renovation this year, but given its current state, my guess, it would take a few years to bring it up to standard. Best of luck ...

It is a very old hotel, it must have been good at some stage. It is right on the water but needs complete renovation. The room was all right and we stayed only for one night while passing through the city so it was okay but I would not stay there if I was vacationing in that city.

Just very old and needs to be renovated. Had that old building smell.

Breakfast was delicious, the location was convenient to the train station, and the view was beautiful!

One room did not match what was reserved. One room didn't have three twin beds causing us to move rooms to a different floor than the rest of our family. It was immediately fixed and apologized for.

    The location.

    - restaurant was closed for any other guests than big groups of people.- the wine cellar was closed, and the sommeliers were off. The whole point of us staying here was to taste the rare wines the hotel is advertising about - the view from the room with balcony was blocked by a small house on the roof.- there was beer cans on the roof, blowing in the wind obstructing the view and made it noisy- the espresso machine was turned on when we asked for it and the espresso was cold-staff seemed totally uninterested in their job and just said "I'm sorry" for every request and complaint we made.- when asked if we could change the room, since we paid extra for a room with a view and balcony., their answer was that they hadn't cleaned any of the rooms on the other floors. There were barely any guests at the hotel, so this shows that they are just lazy- the tables at breakfast wasn't cleaned for hours

    Location and free breakfast.

Check in staff never gave us any information. No time or place for breakfast. Didn't tell us where to park or that you need a parking slip displayed in car. Room is very small. Not able to see TV from the bed and only had one small chair three feet from TV

We asked for a balcony room and it was 1970 concrete with smoking buts in ashtray. Upon arrival booked dinner to be told a kids party so come for 7.30.pm. When we arrived the menu had only 2 choices for mains. No gluten free or dairy free options. No scallops available. We asked could we go somewhere else staff directed us down the road. My husband had a bath and when draining leaked all over the floor. When I showered the next day the sower was leaking and sent water down the gap between the bath and the tiled wall. The lift was filthy and the whole hotel needs a makeover. Noise in the morning either people getting up early for skiing.

Noise from outside cars, you hear noise from hallway. Old type hotel

The hotel is in strategic place: in the center of the city. Its quite old but good enough for few nights stay (as you need only place for sleep). I like that you don't need to pay upfront and you can cancel reservation three days before arrival date. I think it quite convenient option. Also big choice on breakfast table.

No air conditioning. The bed where extremely soft. My personal preference is way harder that this one. There where no possibility to control the temperature in the bathroom. Temperature where set to 19 degrees. So the towels never dried out there.

The breakfast was very good, continually well stocked, right up until end of service.Had a room to store cases.

It was good for a one night stay, two at the limit. Not any more than that.

, leaky bathroom fair. amazing view, comfy bed, rugged room

rooms were poor, like a hostel.cozy bed but old wooden furniture

    The location

The bathroom was old and dirty. Shower was either scorching hot or ice cold with terrible pressure and flow.

The location couldn’t have been better. A few minutes walk from the station and the gondola and a short stroll into the town. Lovely views of the lake outside the bedroom window. For breakfast, there was something to suit everyone’s taste. Plenty of areas around to sit and relax and the hotel offered luggage storage at no extra cost.

It would’ve been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities.

Excellent services! We missed our flight, so everything has to be rearranged. The hotel staff tried their best to welcome us even we arrived at 3am! The beds are as we requested, the room is big and clean. The breakfast is fantastic. It absolutely calmed us down from the messy beginning start of our holiday and made us really enjoy the rest of our times. Thanks a lot!

Excellent location - only a few mins walk from the train station and easy to get into town. Good breakfast offered. We also had an outstanding meal at Restaurant Élysée - food was wonderful and a very extensive wine list by the glass.

We had a room on the road side of the hotel somit was a bit noisy at night. It is an old hotel - the room was dated and could use a refresh.

    2ChrisPosted on: 8-26-2024

Breakfast was OK, it wasn't too crowded (contrary to other reviews), and in general there was sufficient diversity in foods to choose from. The breakfast room was spacious with a nice view, coffee was actually quite nice. Limited options for people with gluten- and lactose intolerancies.

Unfortunately there was a lot to dislike. The room wasn't clean at all, window sill paint was chipping off, the room was noisy, beds were too hard, the toilet and showers were dirty, furniture in the bar was damaged, old and dirty too.... We actually raised a complaint about the overall lack of quality, as we felt we were paying premium price (150 euro for 1 night) but no value. After some discussion, we had to fill in a form and we were promised compensation. But now after several weeks - stil nothing. I had to send two reminders via booking.com messaging, but I got no response anymore. I feel we are being ignored and they will not compensate us anymore. This was a rip-off and we will never return to this place.

    7DeborahPosted on: 8-25-2024

The breakfast was good - lots to choose from as vegetarians. The bedroom was fine - space for luggage. The view was lovely to wake up to - over the fjord.

No kettle in the room - we could have made our own coffee etc.
