Voss Vandrarheim Hostel

The food was outstanding and the location was absolutely beautiful! The staff was very friendly and helpful and you could tell that everyone there cared about the guests expierences.

It's basically a teenage dormitory in the winter. Too many beds and no tv or radio.

The hostel located in a very scenic location just by the lake. The breakfast was excellent. It was enough to stand for the whole day. I loved bathing at the lake behind the hostel. They have a shared kitchen where we can keep our things and cook as well.

I like the location, the common areas, and the restaurant. I love the fact that there was visiting Chef during the summer, which is the period of time I visited. I loved the fact that it’s on the water.

The rooms were a bit outdated, and there was no blow dryers. There’s only two for the entire property and the time I needed one, someone else had it. There should be a blow dryer in every bathroom. Another thing that was really odd is there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom, so when you did blow dry your hair you had to do it in the room with the beds and there was no mirror close enough to see what you were doing. That should be fixed.

The location and views from this hostel are amazing. The includes breakfast was great. Had parking and front desk assistance.

The bathroom is tiny which was a little difficult for 5 adults to share.

The view is beautiful and the service is excellent. You can check in early.

When we were living there, we happened to come across a group of students who were also living there. It was still very noisy around 12 o'clock at night.

This hostel is GORGEOUS. it's only a 15 min walk from the train station and sits right on the lake. I had a stunning view from my room. I was also the only person to check in, so I got the whole room to myself! Everything was super clean. Breakfast is included, which was delicious. Staff were so so friendly, I had a couple conversations with different people and everyone was so kind. Towels were free, and if you needed to store a bag before check in/after check out they'll do it for you for free. Great stay!

The location, the view and the facilities! Thank you for leading us to this very nice town, with such a nice hostel. There's a relatively large common area to sit together, and even a piano!

The shared kitchen is relatively small given the amount of rooms available in the hostel and not many restaurants in town so people would really love to cook themselves.

Wonderful breakfast. Good location for ferry and hikes. Nice staff. Clean room and helpful to have a fridge in the common room.

This was my favorite hostel I’ve stayed in. Amazing location and scenic views right by the water, the breakfast was really good, and there were so many cozy communal spots to hang out and chat with people or sit and read your book. Staff were all friendly and so were the other people staying there. Also I thought it was cool they have their own garden, etc. It was so nice to have fresh local herbs and such at breakfast!

It was kind of awkward walking from the train station with my suitcase, etc. But not too bad. I was sad that I was told the restaurant was open when it had closed the night before I arrived. But again, not a huge deal, just a minor disappointment. I’m glad they served beer and wine there.

First the breakfast was amazing! Most of the products are from their farm and organic. Second, the room is clean and quite. We were 3 people but it can fit to 5. Stuff was very helpful. The public areas are enough. The view was excellent!

Everything was amazing. I booked a tour for a quick fjords visit from Oslo but decided to get my accommodation separately, so I wasn’t expecting much especially for just one night. If it weren’t the case that I was flying out of Norway the following day I would have extended my stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff super nice and welcoming, the breakfast buffet had probably everything you can ask for. And the view? Breathtaking. I don’t think you can ever beat that view from your room/the restaurant, it really made me feel a sense of peace I wasn’t even looking for. I hope I get to visit Voss again, I’ll definitely stop by. Takk!!

Amazing staff, great breakfast and the view of the lake was absolutely beautiful! I really enjoyed jumping in the lake and relaxing in the sauna!

This hostel has good, clean simple rooms for a family of 4-5, perfect for a short stay. The included breakfast was very good. Property was nice and in a solid location. Seasonal restaurant had good food for dinner.

Even though it is a hostel, we actually stayed in a room with 2 double bunks and a separate twin bed, with our own bathroom. Location is great, value was good. Breakfast was just excellent! Had to pay a bit extra, like 9-10 euros or something like that. They allow you to pack anything you want from breakfast and take with you for an extra charge. Free parking,. Nice staff. Clean, relatively quiet.

Spartan white tile bathroom without a shower stall, sprays water everywhere, then you have to wipe it with a shower cleaner (or whatever this thing is called).

Beautiful location with a lake view from our window! Friendly staff, exceptional dinners at the restaurant and just a 5 minute walk from the center of town.

The hostel sits right on a lake looking out on mountains. It’s a short walk from the bus/ train station and the centre of Voss. The hostel has kitchen, sauna, laundry and absolutely amazing breakfast. The whole place is spacious. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
