Hotel La Plancia

Superb location opposite the beach, but a short walk from the main town. Lovely staff, very helpful and a wonderful breakfast.

People were so friendly and helpful. Location is great, right across from a beach bar and a hike north to coves and 15min walk into town.

Street/beach Paid parking is about $10+ day.

The staff were all outstanding, very welcoming, friendly, and always there to help out. Breakfast was perfect. The location was fantastic, with great beaches all within walking distance. The hotel itself was very, very clean. Our room was always cleaned. I would recommend La Plancia; you will not regret it. Oh, they even upgraded our room for free.....All was perfect...

The hotel is kept by a very friendly and welcoming family. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is perfect: the hotel is at the seafront and just out of town so it is quiet. You can walk easily along the "wild" coast, accomodated beaches are close, and Ortranto with its restaurants and shops is at walking distance!

Everything was good!

The hotel was located across the street from a lovely beach, so for me it was wonderful. A 15-20" walk into town, Old Town, and crowds. The staff were all very nice and breakfast was fine. Rooms were somewhat dated, but very clean and really, who cares? Very pleasant.

We loved that it was a small family owned hotel, and the owners were there at all times.Really made you feel welcome. Very attentive even carried in our luggage and when we left that was much appreciated. We had a good conversation with the owners, so that helps make it a memorable experience .Our hand shower broke, and it was fixed within 15 min.We found this because we left another place three days early because of no customer service our heat and internet was broken and we had to sleep in our clothes because it was so cold and owner could care less. So this hotel was a gem to find.

Great location, with good parking available and 10-15 minutes walk to restaurants and cafes. Opposite the beach too, so it has a pleasant outlook. The staff from check-in to check-out were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The lady at checkout went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable- thank you!

A full length mirror would have been nice, as the only one was in the bathroom.

Great location right next to the beach. It’s about a 20 min walk into the city center. Free and paid parking along the street right outside the hotel (first come first serve).

The hotel has many great aspects, but first and foremost there's the wonderful staff. They were helpful, friendly and always up for a chat, making us feel very welcome. It has an excellent beachfront location with a stunning view and is situated just a short walk from the historical centre of Otranto. Breakfast was great, with lots to choose from in both the sweet and savoury categories. The rooms have everything you need. They're not hypermodern, but they're well maintained and clean. All in all, a real gem of a hotel that we'd 100% recommend.

Very basic hotel but easy access with a car, walkable to old town and next to a beautiful beach.

Basic and older hotel.

We were greeted on arrival at this family run hotel by Loreanna and Gabrielle, mother and son, and shown to our room (117). Lovely bright room, comfy bed, nice bathroom, good shower etc. The hotel location is perfect, across the road from the beach, and a short walk along the coast to the nearby shops and restaurants. Lovely seating outside where you can sit and sip a prosecco and admire the view of the sea.The breakfast is amazing, Loreanna bakes every morning and the selection of cakes is all fresh and delicious. Gabrielle booked a restaurant for us and the meal was fab. We had only booked one night here, but were lucky that there was availability for a second night so we stayed an extra night. The friendliness of the owners made this a special memory and we would love to return someday.

Nothing to dislike

extremly helpful personal, all of them, very familiar, excellent location, walking distance to center, quite

difficult parking situation, but once you have a spot, you can leave the car for free.

Location

Unsuitable bed - metal frame with a worn-out mattress. Our most terrible experience was in the bathroom. The toilet was supported by a wooden box, and the drainage was directed from the toilet bidet directly into the showerbath!!! The windows faced the street. The beach near the hotel was sandy and unkempt. The breakfast was below average."

The staff/family was the best. They smiled and helped at every turn. We walked out of the hotel right on to the beach ⛱️! We felt at home. One of our best stays in Italy!

Do not look for perfection,but look to improve!

The Hotel La Plancia is very nice. Exactly as you'd exepect.The location is great and the staff is excellent. The reception staff was really helpful (with the free parking spots nearby, as with recommendations on where to eat).

We had the corner room with the best view of the sea.

The equipment of the room is very basic. It has a fridge, but does not have dishes, cuttlery, cups pr a coffee machine.

Style is a little dated but that wouldn’t stop me staying there again. Highly recommend.

The location of Hotel La Plancia is great. The view of the water is lovely. Gabriele is a fantastic host who communicates beautifully. His mother makes fabulous pastries for the nice breakfast buffet. The easy parking was a huge plus.

The property could use some updating, but is very clean.
