Masseria Fontana di Vite

Loved the property. Rooms were amazing and the grounds were stunning. Loved staying outside of Matera because it was a quick 10 min drive there and back so I could enjoy matera day and night but not have to schlep my stuff up and down all the stairs and hills. Plus it was a tranquil retreat away from crowds. Staff was lovely.

The breakfast was very good and plentiful but dinner was very mediocre. I don’t know I’d dine there again.

Wonderful place, great location, beautiful area surrounding it, very peaceful.Very comfortable room, spacious and comfortable.Great breakfast and dinner, even prepared dishes to our request.And most of all the staff and service. The best possible, both reception and restaurant.Highly recommended.

Beautiful house, and artwork. Spacious and extremely comfortable. The beds were the best! And the staff ( Analisa and Erasmus) were so kind and helpful.

Fabulous boutique hotel. We had a wonderful 2 night stay here. We had a rest day and had a lovely day by the pool. The dinner we had was superb. I highly recommend a stay here.

Nothing to not like.

Incredible setting with beautiful views, stylish and very authentic.Exceeded expectations, value for money. Best meal in Puglia, highly recommend dinner there. The staff were very profesional and accommodating.

Having to leave…

This is such a spectacular property set a few kms from Matera. The staff are total pros, service was impeccable and the environment so so relaxing. Pool is totally dreamy. A special nod to the chef - dinner was exquisite and inventive which was a welcomed change to the the standard fare of the region.

I loved the option of staying outside of Matera, but being able to look at it from a hilltop! Fantastic option if you have a car. Really nice property, gorgeous surroundings. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The personalised service and warmth we got from the family run Masseria. The lie on the hills. The views kilometers far amongst the endless fields of Durum. The quality of the food and wines served.

Loved the tranquility. A beautifully styled Masseria. The staff were all so attentive and kind. The location was very good with access to nearby places of interest. The breakfasts were so good with plenty of choice and home made produce. Lots of books ..per tutto, great. Grazie a tutti and I hope the arrival of your baby will be safe and swift but, not too soon! Nothing to be negative about, perhaps a slightly more comfortable chair in the room..but..there were plenty of comfortable sofas in all the public spaces.

Beautiful and tranquil place to stay. The staff were fabulous, very attentive. We ate there the first night and that was great. Easy parking no fees. It was easy to get to Matera Sassi from there only 10 mins drive. We did find getting there tricky as google maps didn’t pick the address up so we used maps instead via booking.com. Would’ve liked to have stayed longer and used their facilities but didn’t have time

Because it's location was good which located in the country side, There was not anything nearby hotel. Hotel can serve the dinner from 8PM, I should go 10-20 min drive to find the restaurant.It will be great if they provide more comfortable space either in the room or in the garden, because we need to spend more hours everyday at the room with small hard chair.

the breakfast was good, although the staff asked us to wait a little while as they were not ready when we arrived at 7.27am. The location was good. The bed was too small.

The restaurant was good, Has several nice dinners there. The buildings are okay. One older structure and a newer separate complex.

Overall disappointing. The decore and decorating are sub par. The location is underwhelming. I appreciate that it is supposed to be out of the city and on a farm but there are nothing but fields all around. No olive groves or vineyards. But there are plenty of bugs and flies. Our patio was useless as a result.The grounds are not well kept. The place needs some attention to detailWe really wanted to stay at a Masseria. This looked promising but I am sure there are better ones than this.You will most definately need a car to get there from Matera. About a 10 to 15 minute drive into the country.

Physical; property and rooms were a bit sparse. Rooms were nice but bedding needed more pillows

We visited Matera as part of a road trip along Amalfi and around Puglia. This was one of my favourite hotels and one night wasn’t long enough!The rooms are very well done, the setting is stunning, the pool is lovely, and breakfast was great.A very very peaceful and rustic luxury-feeling stay that offered great value for money!

It’s worth noting that the hotel, being a farmhouse, isn’t that close to Matera and you will require a car.

Breakfast could be a lot better. No hot food. Buffet not refreshed very well.
