The location is good in the sassi and close to the center of town. The room was clean and comfortable.

The room is accessible by a descending street with about 40 stairs, so if you have large luggage it is difficult to get it there.

Absolutely disappointing. The front desk is only open till 10pm, and they charge you a fee for "late" check-in. Breakfast is incredibly limited in options and poor quality. Staff is clearly inexperienced and inadequate to the service level expected. On top of that, many many small details show carelessness and negligence: loose safe box, finished candle jars with no matches, empty fridge, no bathroom tissues, slippery bathtub floor, etc. Only the room rate was in line with what you'd expect for a suite in a 4* hotel, i.e. expensive but unfortunately not justified at all.

We love how clean and spacious our room was, the bathroom facilities were very good, clean and spacious. The room has very good air conditioning. Breakfast was also good and adequate.

The room door was located along the street. When you open the door, the people from the street can actually see the bed. But that doesn’t reflect the other locations of the other rooms in the hotel. That was the only room in the hotel that is along side the street.

The service at the breakfast ruined our stay. We stayed for two nights and both separate ladies were really rude to us. It was just awful. It’s a shame bc the hotel is really nice but things like this can just overturn the whole experience

The location of this hotel was smack in Matera Sassi, a fantastic city that I would highly recommend. The only drawback is there was a lot of climbing up/down cobblestone stairs. The way to get from the reception area to our room was a block away, then down 60 stairs. That said, I would do it all over again and enjoy it as equally as we did on this trip. Across the street from our room were unending options for eating. Morning, noon, and night. A+ to the gracious staff as well.

The room was very large by European standards and was perfectly cleaned daily. The staff was friendly, and the location was great. There are plenty of shops to visit, and the very best views of Matera are just steps from our room. Matera is an exceptional city that you should not miss while visiting Puglia.

Really nice quirky Hotel. The location is fabulous right in the centre of the town. Lovely rooms and a good breakfast.

Location is excellent. Loved the novelty of sleeping in a ‘cave’. The subtle night light didn’t detract from the atmosphere, and was enough to get your bearings during the night.

Beautiful little hotel, and superb room. Spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and everything thought of., eg. toiletries etc. Very good breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
