The location is spectacular. The quality of the room, equipment, decoration, etc was excellent. Extremely nice staff. Very welcoming and helpful with suggestions for guide and restaurant. Would recommend without hesitation.

Room & accommodations wonderful & beautiful decor. Matera is magical, a high point of our trip, a must see for sure. Breakfast very good & staff knowledgeable & helpful. A lot of walking due to terrain but doable.

Dinner at the hotel underwhelming

It brought us to the cave environment but with comfort and great support. The breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty. The staff were very committed to help us in every aspect and needs.

The air conditioning at the cave was not so strong. At night, it was a little warm, but not something crazy.

Nice rooms, quiet, delicious homemade pastries for breakfast (but we need more vegetables, fruit and berries)

Restaurant - we didn’t like our dinner (the meat was tough).I told the hotel staff several times that it was my husband's birthday, but they even begrudged him a piece of cake as a gift and offered to buy him a bottle of champagne for 50 euros in the roomThis is not a 4 star hotel ?

The location was amazing and the room decor was stunning, staff was extremely helpful.Breakfast in the restaurant in the caves was amazing with all home made and local produce.Would definitely stay there again. Bravo.

The staff was extremely helpful. They coordinated with the parking garage company and provided us a takeaway breakfast since we were leaving prior to the breakfast service time.

Very sweet and thoughtful personnel, beautiful atmosphere with attention for the treasured ancient history of the building. Great restaurant on site.

The room was quite musty smelling although maybe this was to be expected. Breakfast offerings were disappointing. Check out transfer I felt they lacked care. We caught a taxi after we were told it was too busy but the transfer vehicle was waiting for us when we arrived at the taxi.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old city (Sassi) and is well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The breakfast buffet had many options within the hotel's restaurant with a great atmosphere.

We had experienced difficulty in transferring our luggage to reach the hotel due to the terrain and multiple flights of stairs. Once we arrived, the hotel did not notify us that they offer luggage service but we were notified or this prior to our visit.

Beautiful views and fine attention to detail fromthe bed linens to the aromatherapy type products included in the room. The restaurant provided one of the best dinners we ate in Matera and the cave ambience is a plus! We booked the junior suite and the closest space was a nice bonus I wasn’t expecting both because it was cleverly and discreetly located behind the bed and kept us organized during our stay. Staff was very helpful in arranging our shuttle service and a person to help with our luggage (which I highly recommend doing)

Nothing. Although I did let the staff know there was an accumulation of mold forming behind the sinks and in the shower.

Staying in a cave setting with the private pool was magical!! Room was comfortable and stunning, and the complementary drinks were appreciated. The in-room pool was one of my favorite parts of the trip. On top of that, the staff were ABOVE AND BEYOND INCREDIBLE. Not only was the food (breakfast and dinner) amazing and the service excellent, but when the photographer my boyfriend hired for my (secret) proposal canceled last minute due to car trouble, they asked one of their contacts to come in and help him out, leading to absolutely stunning photos and the most amazing experience of us getting engaged. I am blown away by the location of the hotel, the amenities and room, but most of all, the care and dedication of the staff at every interaction. We will definitely be back. <3

Unique and special property. Extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Everything went smoothly from check in to departure. Breakfast was highlight for us, everything homemade and delicious :) Plus, sitting in a cave was very cool!The luggage porters were wonderful, even met us off the beaten path with cold waters. Reception and staff were so helpful.Truly and experience that we will forever remember!

The hotel is very well Located. The restaurant is really good and the staff is very kind. Rooms are beautiful. They offered a breakfast box when leaving early.

The AC at our room broke the first day and the temp was very high in Matera, they did offered to change us to another cave room, however it had no bathtub as the one I booked initially and it smelled very bad, we stayed that night in the room with a broken AC and they gave us fans.Next day they wrote It would take another day to repair. So they ended switching us to another room no cave no bathtub but AC working. I never got any of the difference of rate back. They just said it was same room category which was clearly not. The room with the working AC didn’t actually get cold but just bearable so AC is not really good in this property.Bathrooms have absolutely no privacy, you can ser and hear anything. No doors, no nothing.

Gorgeous unique cave like. Great bathroom and amenities. Comfortable bed and air conditioning. Beautiful view from the room. Very private. Loved it. Breakfast room in the cave was great. Selection of gluten free foods is great too!

Had to park car somewhere else but understood that this is Matera so there’s no choice.

Stayed 5 nights which coincided with the Festival of Madonna Della Bruna which was a very special time to be in Matera. Amazing location with well appointed unique cave bedroom. Dinner was so good that we returned another night. We used the car parking service and it worked really well. All staff were professional and friendly. Special mention to Angela at breakfast, Isede's barista skills, Erika and Christine on the front desk. We will definitely be back.
