About

Get a feel of times gone by at this completely renovated hotel and restaurant, dating back to the 13th century and set in La Terra, the old quarter of Ostuni. Hotel Rione Antico La Terra is located in the heart of the so called White City, and offers impressive panoramic views over the town. Next door to Hotel Rione Antico La Terra, you will find the Benedictine convent of St Peter, just one of the many architectural sights in this lovely town. The hotel's restaurant, and some of the elegantly decorated rooms, still display traces of the ancient stonework of the original building. An annex apartment is also available. For a real taste of how the locals live, you can enjoy some characteristic cuisine in the restaurant, together with wines carefully selected from the best producers in Apulia.

    Pros +

    • It is a 13 century former Convent. It is unique and beautiful. There are 2 hotels in all of Ostuni. One is a 5 star at the back of a church and the other is this hotel. It is wonderful and very fairly priced. You are literally in the middle of all the action. The front desk picked us up from the parking lot which is a 5 minute walk from Ostuni city. You cant drive in the city itself because the streets are too small and there are hundreds of tourists walking. The rooms were big. Cathedral ceilings. I got the deluxe room. It was a little warm for the two days we were there because it was in the 90s outside and the AC was situated high up near the cathedral ceiling. But is was comfortable. Rooms were clean. The hotel has beautiful terraces to sit in and have a drink. Hotel has a bar on the second floor in the middle of the day for drinks and sitting on the balcony/terrace. Little coffee bar in lobby for coffee any time of day. They have an awesome breakfast in a beautiful room which was included in the price. We loved the hotel and highly recommend it as the place to be if you visit Ostuni which is a gorgeous town.
    • Very conveniently located to the Ostuni Centro Ostorico Shuttle pick up. Parking near by. Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. The best gelato Fior de Palace is a 14 min walk with beautiful views of the city. Best spot for photography too.
    • Location is right in the heart of the old town. Parking was easy. We prearranged it with the hotel. We were given directions/google location to a local parking lot, called the hotel and they quickly came and picked us and our luggage up and delivered us up through the windy streets to the hotel in their little shuttle van. The hotel is in an historic building, but well maintained and renovated. The room was large but had no view. Breakfast was included and good. The elevator worked. The reception staff was quick to assist.

    Cons -

    • AC could have been a bit stronger but it was VERY hot the two days we were there. But room was comfortable.
    • The bed was hard. (Seems like almost all the beds in Italy are so hard)
    • Trying to find the parking was very difficult but there's a shuttle and that was very helpful once we finally found it.

Very convenient location. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, great breakfast.

Breakfast. Italy has some of the best meets like salami, prosciutto cotto and yet they serve up the cheapest stuff they can find. Why???Only egg dish was scrambled eggs, there should be more choices.

    Nothing!

Building, location, atmosphere, staff and breakfast were all excellent.

All was good even though we were traveling during low season.

Beautifully restored convent building with gorgeous, antique furniture and very comfy bed. The location is great for exploring the historic town, parking spot was arranged for us and the staff was very attentive. Thank you for the room upgrade - Loved our stay!

Very attentive service, beautiful views, comfortable beds, large showers, and a very nice breakfast. The location in the heart of old Ostuni is perfect, and their parking (small fee) and shuttle is perfect. Top notch.

    Everything was great.

Beautiful spacious room. Fantastic location. Helpful staff. Lovely breakfast

    10KatharinePosted on: 11-6-2024

The location was perfect. Someone was there to pick us up in a little van from the easy to find parking and bring us to the hotel. Lovely, spacious room, quiet at night, good breakfast, helpful, friendly staff at all times.

    9Jim Y.Posted on: 10-26-2024

The staff was amazing and friendly, always willing and happy to help. The rooms were very large (by European standards). Breakfast was more then enough.

The only drawback is the parking is something you need to prepare yourself for. Like most of Puglia, you cannot drive into town.

The delux was very nice but no view

    Wifi did not work

    10MichelePosted on: 10-4-2024

Stayed here with a group of friends and absolutely loved this hotel!!! Wonderful location, lovely room and facilities, and helpful staff. The front desk went out of their way to confirm our tours and arrange for car service. I highly recommend Hotel La Terra when in Ostuni. I would 100% return here!

    10ElizabethPosted on: 10-2-2024

Very central location. Beautiful authentic historic building. Amazing view. Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind from the front desk to the breakfast staff. Breakfast was amazing. So much selection. Room was spotless, bright and large.

    9PennyPosted on: 9-28-2024

Very welcoming and the shuttle service was excellent. Intriguing and atmospheric building, very well located on a quiet street but right in the old town. Nice bathroom, and all very clean. Good aircon and WiFi. Breakfast was good.

The breakfast room is very unatmospheric, which is a shame in such a lovely building; the upstairs bar and terrace area is much more attractive.

    10BernadettePosted on: 9-22-2024

very warm helpful staff place spotlessly clean beautiful building tastefully preserved superb location in old historic town. Francesco on reception so helpful.

maybe consideration should be given to aircon or fans in the rooms

    8VictoriaPosted on: 9-20-2024

Great location, very central but on a quiet street. Characterful bedroom with vaulted ceiling and very spacious.

The lift was out of order throughout our stay. We thought the breakfast was fairly poor, plenty of choice but not very good. The shower cubicle in the bathroom was very small. It would be good if they contacted guests before arrival to remind them about parking arrangements. I had booked a long time ago and had forgotten that you couldn’t drive up to the hotel so my attempts to get there were a nightmare. However, that was my fault, all works perfectly if you remember to check instructions!
