The family-run Hotel Palatinum is 10 minutes' drive from Metaponto Lido beach and next to Magna Graecia archaeological area. It offers free parking and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. - Excellent value hotel with restaurant beside the highway - perfect for an overnight stay on a longer trip. Free parking outside. Good soundproofing in rooms. The included continental breakfast was simple with delicious fresh seasonal fruit, choice of fresh local breakfast cakes & excellent coffee. Dinner was regional, tasty, prompt and good value. Friendly service. Hand held shower. Plastic stool in bathroom. Stair free access to hotel and rooms. Would stay again.

- Location is next to the highway surrender by some older buildings so not top location but rooms, food service very high quality of hospitality. Rooms are simple clean and have all what you need. Restaurant very nice and recently renovated. Food very good quality/price you feel that the couple really care about you as a guest.
Cons -
- From an accessibility perspective - small bathroom with limited circulating space which would not fit a wheeled mobility aid. There is approximately 10cm step into the small shower cubicle which has a corner entrance. The elevator is very small with a narrow entrance which just fits a standard self propelled wheelchair but may not fit a larger mobility aid.
- "Controlled breakfast", you had to ask a person at the counter for your food, no chance to pick your own like any other buffet breakfast.Noisy road nearly.
- Left early in the morning so I did not have breakfast so I dont know what they serve. I was happy.

Checkout at 10:30 with no possibility for later checkout.breakfast is poor. they have a bar but coffe and cappuccino comes from cheap automatic machine...location is on the motorway, so you need a car to come in and out of the hotel.
Located just off the main road but quiet, thanks to sound-proof windows, with a safe parking and good restaurant. Ideal for a stopover if visiting the nearby ancient greek Temple of Hera and the museums at Metaponto and Policoro.
Modern comfortable rooms and efficient and friendly staff. The location is the only negative as the adjacent properties are abandoned and run down.
