Pros +
- This is an exceptional property and a real value. In its early life, this building was an art school. Its been beautifully repurposed into a first class hotel. Staff was accommodating and very helpful. The breakfast that came with the room was good
- most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good, but they run out of food quickly and do not replenish unless requested.
- Room, breakfast and sraff
Cons -
- Should have a gym.
- The cleaning of the rooms should be more efficient More towels needed The shower door did not close properly and shower head should be a different shape it was not comfortable to use. The toilet in our room had a leaky sound I informed the staff and nothing was done. The tv channels could be better
- The room's stylish features were not always functional. For example, you could not turn on or off the lights on a single side of the bed at a time. The toilet was right behind the bathroom door so that it bumped your knees when opened. The taxi to the airport they recommended over uber did not take credit cards, which was unexpected and inconvenient. The role of the hotel as a training site for hospitality students was not apparent when booking rooms but apparent in the execution of some functions.

The staff were very friendly, the room was beautiful and stylish, and the food at the tasting dinner was delicious.

The accommodations plus the staff is exceptional from the reception staff to bar staff breakfast staff and the exceptional female chef
It was attractive and the staff was incredibly awesome!
One day the elevator was out of service and we had to carry our bags down a couple flights of stairs( by choice since we could call them and would have done that for us.)
The staff was wonderful - Angelo, especially, made me feel welcome and was very helpful when I needed assistance with contacting my tour guide. The hotel was lovely with a great outdoor space and on-site dining. My room was spacious and comfortable.
No complaints whatsoever. It was about a 10-15-minute walk to the center of town, which, for me, wasn't a problem, but some travelers may prefer a more central location. I enjoyed a walk every day. :-)
Accommodating , diverse and interesting staff, dedicated to guests and the school/hotel. Very unusual property; an art school and a hotel. Special garden and wonderful choice to enjoy a 5-7 course meal with deeply enriching and tailored to each individuals. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

It was beautiful and very spacious, had a nice out door patio and the staff was very friendly and helpful
Great staff! Very good breakfast.
Beds were below 5-star hotel quality. When you open the water it’s suddenly runs extremely hot until you adjust it.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and hardworking. However,
the breakfast was poor and not suitable for a five-star hotel, and the portions were very small.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
One of the bathroom sinks had a leak, and the water in the shower didn't drain. The second day, our room hadn't been cleaned at almost 4pm.
Very clean. Staff are excellent, especially Luana and Ruben.
Room was too warm
I loved the artistic theme of the hotel and the staff were very professional.
The breakfast was not good and the coffee was awful.
The staff were friendly and professional. We were very impressed by their helpfulness and knowledge. The breakfast was wonderful, except for the coffee machine! During the power outage that affected all of Portugal, they set up a barbecue with patio tables, plenty of beverages and a confident, light hearted attitude. Staff escorted us to our rooms and we felt safe.
The Delta coffee makers....
Lovely staff and a very large room. The room was equipped with loads of pillows, a coffee maker, a kettle and small fridge, as well as a desk and couch. As an old school, the room and bath were large in European standards. We had the breakfast our first morning, which was nice, with varied options. The neighborhood was safe and very walk-able. During reception we were offered Port, egg tarts and a short overview of things to do in the city (map) The wifi was great.
My comments are for older travelers, mostly. Close to local neighborhoods, this hotel could be a little too far from the "tourist spots." There were plenty of local spots to eat and drink nearby and we took advantage of the neighborhood. For our tastes, the bed was too hard - after a hard day of walking we needed a soft place to rest our aching hips. The room has plenty of outlets, but one must move bedside tables to get to them. Finally, there was a giant tub that one had to step in to shower and is quite the fall risk.
The breakfast was great , staff very friendly they pretty much helped with everything, getting extra umbrellas for my friends, booked a taxi for me , moving my luggage, they were so friendly and helpful
Restful friendly little hotel with very large rooms that had a sofa and desk. Bathroom well equipped. Smart tv. Outstanding staff - so helpful especially Francesca on the front desk. Would stay again.
Bar service was difficult to access. Breakfast at the hotel was delightful for the first 2 days. Then we had to go to the next door Editory Garden hotel for the final 2 days. Breakfast was very haphazard: food run out, no cups, plates or cutlery and food poorer quality. Coffee was awful and there were no English Breakfast tea bags. Young staff tried their best but not a pleasant experience
