    Pros +

    • I had a great stay, clean comfort in a good location.
    • Wonderful location, good breakfast, very clean and pleasant room. Overall a good place to stay and see Porto easily!
    • The hotel was well located. The lobby and most staff were very kind. The woman we initially encountered at the front desk for storage assistance and the gentlemen who helped store our bags were both lovely.

    Cons -

    • We dropped off our bags earlier in the day and returned later to check into our room. Right away, I noticed we’d been assigned the wrong room. I went to the front desk and showed the gentleman the photos from Booking.com, only to be talked down to, dismissed, and treated with disrespect. Out of the two weeks I spent throughout Portugal, this was my only negative experience. When I asked if there were other rooms available, I was flatly told “no.” I chose not to argue. I had saved precious PTO for this trip and the situation was livable. Instead, I documented it with photos and received a refund from Chase. The photos attached were taken during the day. The room remained dark even in daylight, with no overhead lighting — only small fixtures over the desk, nightstand, and in the bathroom. The bed was a king instead of two twins, even though underneath you could see it was a king mattress on two twin frames. We called twice during the night to have the AC fixed as it wouldnt turn on and were told they would fix it on their end. No one ever came to inspect the unit while we were there, and it was never repaired, so we just sweated through the hot summer night. The “terrace” was cute but attracted bugs at night, so we couldn’t use it to cool down. Perhaps that’s why the bed was only dressed with sheets and the duvets were stacked on a side chair?? To top it off, the door’s card reader kept falling off lolNormally, I wouldn’t bother taking photos, contacting Chase, or writing a review — but the way I was treated was beyond rude. Shit happens: rooms get double-booked or assigned incorrectly, that’s life. A small gesture, something as simple as a comped breakfast or bottle of Castello sparkling water, would’ve turned it into another travel story. Instead, I was disrespected and made to feel lesser than. That is unacceptable.Luckily, we spent most of our time outside the hotel touring.
    • Not much options on the tv
    • Getting the water temperature just right was always an issue. The hot water is very very hot and every shower was a battle in getting it just right. I hope the management takes time to both praise and reward their staff while also clearly communicating expectations. The staff seems apathetic and not very friendly. They seemed more concerned with talking amongst themselves than welcoming guests. The door to the outside is always locked and requires the swipe of the key card. When we arrived to check in, we knocked for some time, and although someone was at the desk they would not let us in. We could see them through the glass but felt like we were being ignored. Luckily a guest had just arrived and was able to let us in. We had to do the same for guests who hadn’t checked in. Is there a better way to alert the desk? I have to add that the young man who worked during the evening shift was quite the opposite. He was friendly and greeted us with a smile. The location was not terrible but also not great. We don’t mind walking but found we had to use Uber often. Breakfast was not great… could be better.

The room and bathroom are a good size. All the finishes are beautiful and reflect European excellence.

    Great design and comfortable amenities.

Location is fairly good, but the street itself is pretty shady.

Staff were friendly, facility was nicely designed and location was walkable to many attractions while away from crowded streets.

Nice room, clean, close to center

There was no soap in the bathroom the staff said it was finished and tje 3 days we stayed we had to buy soap. Also shower gel finished and they did not replace it. Water pressure in the shower very low.

Cute and cozy hotel, very good breakfast and comfortable beds. The patio in the back was also very nice.

The room was small and the location a bit further away from the city center

My husband and I stayed here for a night during an overnight trip to Porto. The hotel staff were lovely and attentive. Every request we made was met with a polite response, and we felt comfortable. The location is excellent, just a few minutes away from some of Porto's nicest sites. I would 100% recommend this hotel. The view from the suite on the 7th floor was glorious in the morning, and we had a lovely meal on the terrace. I generally like boutique hotels and couldn't have asked for a better place for our overnight stay.

The water faucet in the bathtub was a bit finicky, and the hose was leaking. Not a significant issue, but something for the staff to address for future guests :) We didn't have a lot of time in the hotel, but I'm sure if we had asked, it would have been fixed quickly.

Modern hotel equipped as needed. Lovely breakfast & dinner available. Kind staff

Location was on edge of sketchy area but also close to popular end of the street. Seemed safe. One staff directed us wrongly to a restaurant so we never found it and returned to have dinner at the hotel.

Breakfast options were good.Staff were very helpful and welcoming.Decor was modern.Beds were very comfortable.

Construction work next door to the hotel from 8am meaning a lot of noise in the room and dust on the balcony (which was to the rear, facing a wall and quite dark). The construction noise should have been noted on the hotel website and booking.com.The hotel is further out of the city centre than expected. No handle on the wall to help step in and out of the shower (in the bath), only the glass panel - nearly slipped a couple of times.

Good breakfast, with a good selection of bread, cereals, meat and fruit. A good central location, just a little away from the hustle and bustle of the main shopping streets in Belau, but a comfortable walk away.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of construction work going on just next to the hotel (which they could not control), but it did mean there was a lot of drilling and banging which started at 8:30 and went on during the day. They only offered free coffee and a coffee machine in the room so if you wanted tea (we did), you either had to use the coffee machine to boil the water (but it tasted of coffee) or you could go to reception and ask for hot water. (Reception staff were very helpful and did provide this).

Great location, near the market and main attractions. We were unfortunate with the weather, so couldn’t enjoy the courtyard or our balcony! But the hotel was still very modern and very clean. Staff at reception were so helpful and kind.

The hotel is situated next to a building work site and the works start pretty early and if you’re unfortunate enough to be staying near to the side of the works it’s very noisy!! But the staff were very accommodating and moved our room to a quieter side.

Lovely boutique hotel in Porto. The room was spacious, pretty, and very comfortable. Great location and friendly staff. Only downside was the breakfast—it could be improved. Overall, a great stay!

    Breakfast can be improved

    9ChristinePosted on: 4-10-2025

Lovely room. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous shower. Nice size room. Nespresso machine with 4 pods supplied daily. The hotel was within a very short walk from the metro which had a direct route to the airport. We did not avail of breakfast any morning there so can't comment.
