- The only good thing is the location.
- If you are looking for a not so fancy hotel, this is for you. Clean, reasonably priced, excellent location, friendly staff, excellent facility. Most of the major Porto altercations are within walking distance. They also offer € 8 continental breakfast which elaborate and plentiful.
- Foremost I thank the staff of the hotel who didn't leave us high and dry. I had a companion who met an accident which made him confined to bed from the second day of the holiday until the last day of our stay at the hotel. One of the male staff immediately accommodated my questions regarding medical attention. And this is worth mentioning, Graça Pinto was there for us to find a doctor who assessed the medical condition of my companion. The rest of the hotel staff showed their concern and promised their availability when help was needed. Leaving the hotel for the airport,my taxi hailing application didn't work. Another kind hearted female staff lent me a hand to get a taxi. She even escorted us because my companion had a mobility problem. Pity that I didn't get her name but will surely see her again on my next visit. The room that I booked was located on the third floor and moved to the first, without hassle, when I asked for it. It pacified my worries since the room is next to the concierge.I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service.I highly recommend this hotel.I will stay here again on my next visit in Porto.
Cons -
- The room has a moldy smell. The floor was broken. The bed is not comfortable and the bed sheets were not clean.
- Noise of band from a neighborhood bar which eventually stopped at 9:00 PM sharp.
- Since the furniture and textiles are old, it smelled like dust. I am allergic to dust, so it was a bit of an issue for me. But considering the price, there’s no complaints.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Porto Rico (Paulista) Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Every member of the personnel was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive — they truly made my stay special. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities I could need. The atmosphere of the hotel is warm and inviting, making it easy to relax and feel at home. The location is absolutely brilliant — right in the heart of Porto, with easy access to everything you could want. You couldn’t ask for a better spot to explore the city, enjoy local restaurants, or experience Porto’s vibrant culture. What stood out the most was the team — always smiling, ready to help, and genuinely caring about guests’ experiences.I can’t recommend Porto Rico Hotel enough! I will definitely return on my next trip to Porto. Thank you for making my stay so memorable!
Location, price for value

Excellent location, and it was a bonus to get tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel also arranged for a shuttle to take me to the airport
The staff was really nice! Mr. Alberto is a nice person and the lady today in the morning (29th December)
The value is very expensive and the location is horrible! The room is very small and it is a very old building! The parking is 30 euros per night
well located small Hotel in the center of Porto, very clean, friendly staff.
Perfect location. Low price, nice staff.
Nothing really, a bit on simple side - but it was reflected in the price. It was not ok though to have to ask for toilet paper twice… 3 people stayed for two nights and we had 1 roll between us - haha
Great location, staff very helpful, arranged transport to airport.

The room was a decent size and the hotel was in a good location. It was clean and they served a good breakfast. There was also a kettle and fridge in the room.
The bathroom was a bit cramped, although it was ok for a couple of nights.

Great value cozy hotel. I liked the view from my balcony.
Some dark curtains to block out light would be nice if you want to sleep when it is bright outside, also when it is dark people can see you through the curtains so you can't undress. Also an extra table to put things on would be nice.
Friendly staff.Good location . Clean. Hot water
The room was very small, not much space to move around the (also small) bed.No wardrobe, no bedside table.Poor internet
