    • The View
    • Our stay at Hills & Hues Hotel in Thekkady was truly memorable. The first thing that stood out was the spectacular view from our room — it was simply breathtaking and made every moment feel special. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They even reached out to me two days before check-in to discuss our preferences and coordinated directly with our tour guide to ensure a smooth journey to the hotel.A special mention goes to Mr. Ram, the chef, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. He took great care to ensure all our meals met our requirements, and as a thoughtful gesture, he prepared a beautiful cake wishing us a safe trip on the day of our departure. We also enjoyed a back and foot Ayurvedic treatment at their spa, which was both relaxing and refreshing — the perfect way to unwind after exploring Thekkady.
    • Staff were so lovely and made a real effort to make you feel special. Room was amazing with an incredible view. Good food options.

    Cons -

    • The Sevice.
    • One thing worth noting is that the hotel is designed as a resort-style property, which involves a short uphill walk between the rooms and the restaurant. For most adults and healthy seniors, this adds to the charm and experience. However, for senior citizens with knee issues, I would recommend booking the rooms adjacent to the restaurant rather than the cottages for added convenience.

Breakfast was typical Indian/Western mix. Not bad but not exceptional.Buffet style except for Indian/Western omeletsVery similar to all my Kerala inn stays

The Booking.com entry for Hills and Hues is fraudulent. Booked the "Cottage" room as per the website. Arrived at Hills and Hues and discovered that the room shown online, that you book AND pre-pay for, is not the room you may receive. Our "Cottage " room was in a basement with dirty floor mats, leaking walls, black mold on several curtain bottoms, exposed electrical wiring, and very low ceilings. Pretty much exactly what you would expect in a damp basement room and NOTHING like the Booking.com website shows. (light, airy, and cathedral ceilings) Since the room was at the lowest elevation on campus, there were very limited views as well. I inquired about this room discrepancy with the check-in team....I was told that this was a cottage room even though this room is not noted in the website. We left the next morning. No partial refund, no apologies, and no back-up from Booking.com. Booking.com says that this issue is between the Hills & Hues and myself. Very disappointing experience....with vendor and Booking.com. PS...This was just the room issue. There was road construction and building construction when we arrived that started every morning at 7.00 and stopped around 16.00-17.00 in the late afternoon.

Lovely well kept gardens, big comfortable rooms. It's on a hill, nice views of the valley below.Pool not heated, there is some climbing to be done to room and dining room. Lonely place.

    9ElisabethPosted on: 2-23-2025

Loved the pool, the garden around it, the staff and the incredible view

The only problem was the terrible wifi connection in the room..and we had no idea about the thick fog until about 9.30am .. it meant the view from the room in the morning was non existent!

The location is beautiful, and the property is gorgeous. We loved everything about our stay at Hills & Hues. The views were stunning, the food was amazing, and the evening music entertainment was superb. The infinity pool was definitely a highlight—we had a great time swimming and enjoying the scenery. I would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a truly relaxing and scenic stay!

Wonderful views, great restaurant and staff therein.

Pool was too cold for swimming. Toilet drainage was malodorous on last night and A/C a bit noisy. But Al in all a good stay.,

Beautiful location, brilliantly designed and pointed facility- Boutique in every way. Excellent food

Staff needs more heart. There is clear lack of it. This place deserves better qulity of sincere staff who really love the place and love what they do. That makes all the diffrence. I hope the management will look into this and consider this in their training / recruiting.

Staff were lovely, location beautiful. Spectacular views, good food.

It would have been great if pool had been heated as it was an amazing pool but cold!

The room we had was beautiful, spotless and had everything we need for a luxurious and relaxing stay. The views are sensational, the staff were fantastic throughout and the food was superb!

The breakfast was repetitive but delicious. The staff were amazing and tried their best to cater to our needs. The location is surreal, especially by the pool area. The lookout point would have been great if they didn't have construction work material held there. The walk from our room to the restaurant and pool area was tiring as it was steep; a buggy would have been appreciated, but it meant we were burning off what we ate.

The only downside to this stay is the steep and narrow road to get to the hotel (which made us weary to travel outside) and the constant sound of construction nearby as the accommodation was expanding. Otherwise, I'd recommend the place wholeheartedly. Oh, and add in Buggy, and this place would be 10/10!

The Christmas plum cake of Chief Ram, which we receive als Christmas present was so good! The music and dancing of the staff at our frontdoor was very friendly and suprising. We love that. The fireworks in Christmas eve was so beautiful. The warm exit at our breakfast on our last day was awesome.

The location is amazing and the views mind-blowing. We stayed in the King’s Lair which was a particular highlight as the room has panoramic views throughout. Woke up to the sunrise and saw cloud forests. Total bliss.

Nitpicking here but the bonfire could probably be done better as aside from music and a fire there wasn’t much else. Also the children’s playground was very small and had only 3 things in it.

Beautiful views . Fabulous infinity pool. Lovely large room with fantastic views. Pretty gardens / plants . Nice restaurant

Restaurant / hotel very quiet in evening . Not much to do

Had a pleasant stay in hills and hues . It was a sudden plan to stay on our trip to idukki that decision To stay in hills and hues was the best thing in this trip . We were welcomed by Mr. Arun and he explained each and every thing to us about the resort and escorted us to the room. The food was delicious.they do have a spa in the resort i took a massage and it was so relaxing and feels good . Hope to see you again and keep up the good job .

The hotel had a really nice restaurant, the quality of lunch and dinner was excellent. The hotel is also in a very scenic location with great views (once the fog clears)

The room did not feel worth the price that we paid. The WiFi did not work in the room, and after informing a member of staff they didn't do anything about it The pool should be heated to ensure that it is usable all year round. we couldn't take advantage of thisWe didn't find the pillows very comfortable on the bed and the lighting was not nice. The shampoo and conditioner provided were not very good either.Although we very much enjoyed lunch and dinner at the restaurant, we weren't such a fan of the breakfast.

    9AmitenduPosted on: 11-11-2024

We liked almost everything about the place. The view from our room was stunning. The cleanliness of the room and the estate was exceptional. The room and the bathroom are beautifully designed to blend in with nature. The staff - led by Manager Mr Prabhu and his colleagues Arun and Jobin - were absolutely fantastic, truly hospitable and incredibly helpful. A final word -the food. It was a pleasure eating at the restaurant and all dishes that we ordered were cooked to great taste while being healthy.

Regarding facilities, nothing to dislike, except the fact that the wifi seemed to get off often, which might be due to the high location. One point of dislike, which really cannot be attributed to the staff and management, is the noise created by some loud, talkative and disorderly guests. Its a shame that the natural peace and tranquility of the beautiful setting could be disturbed by insensitive guests.
